Phylogenetic relationships of the Australian Oligo-Miocene ratite Emuarius gidju Casuariidae

In Australia,ratites(Aves:Palaeognathae)are represented in the extant fauna by the family Casuariidae with 1 species of emu Dromaius novaehollandiae and 1 cassowary Casuarius *** Australian fossil re-cord reveals no other extinct ratite families but there are a number of other casuariid *** significant of these,due to its Oligo-Miocene age and because it is known from abundant material,is Emuarius ***,we describe additional material and confirm that the taxon had a temporal range of Late Oligocene to Mid-dle Miocene(approximately 24-15 Ma).We reveal new morphological details,including notably that the spe-cies had relatively much smaller eyes than ***,in addition to a less well-developed cursori-al ability,as inferred from its pelvic *** these respects,Emuarius is similar to Casuarius and suggest that it was adapted to denser vegetation than the open woodlands and grasslands that characterise much of Austra-lia today and to which ***,with its large eyes and enhanced cursorial ability,is strongly *** was compared to and found to be distinct from the poorly provenanced Australian fossil species *** conducted a phylogenetic analysis of morphological data that robustly shows that *** is the sister taxon of Dromaius and together these taxa form a clade that is sister to *** indicates that the evolution towards enhanced cursorality that characterises Dromaius took place after the divergence of the emu-cassowary lineages and was likely not the driving mechanism of this *** between ***-vaehollandiae and *** revealed no qualitative skeletal differences and we suggest that the latter tax-on is best considered to be an island dwarf that should be taxonomically recognized at a subspecific level only.

Mermithid nematodes,such as Ovomermis sinensis,are used as biological control agents against many insect pests,including cotton bollworm(Helicoverpa armigera).However,given the host's robust immune system,the infection rate of *** is low,thus restricting its widespread *** understand the host defense mechanisms against mermithid nematodes,we identified and characterized a protein involved in the recognition of ***,the potential ***-binding protein C-type lectin 1(HaCTLla and/or HaCTLIb),which was eluted from the surface of *** after incubation with *** *** is homologous to the previously reported HaCTLla *** was predominantly expressed in hemocytes and was induced by the steroid hormone 20-hydroxyecdysone through ecdysone receptor(HaEcR)or ultraspiracle(HaUSP),or *** assays confirmed the interactions of the HaCTLI proteins with *** but not with Romanomermis wuchangensis,a parasitic nematode of ***,the HaCTL1 proteins were secreted into the hemocoel and promoted hemocyte-mediated encapsulation and phagocytosis.A knockdown of HaEcR and/or HaUSP resulted in compromised encapsulation and ***,HaCTLI appears to modulate cellular immunity in the defense against parasitic nematodes,and the 20-hydroxyecdysone-HaEcR-HaUSP complex is involved in regulating the process.

Na superionic conductor(NASICON)-type Li_(1.5)Al_(0.5)Ge_(0.5)P_(3)O_(12)(LAGP)solid state electrolytes(SSEs)have attracted significant interests thanks to the prominent ionic conductivity(>10^(–4)S·cm^(–1))at room temperature and superb stability in ***,its application has been hindered by the lithium dendrites and the intrinsic interfacial instability of LAGP towards metallic Li,***,by magnetron sputtering(MS),an ultrathin Al film is deposited on the surface of the LAGP pellet(Al-LAGP).By in-situ alloying reaction,the spontaneously formed LiAl buffer layer inhibits the side reaction between LAGP SSEs and Li metal,induces the uniform distribution of interfacial electric field as *** functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrate that the LiAl alloy surface promotes the diffusion of lithium atoms due to the lower energy barrier,thereby inhibiting the formation of lithium ***,the Li/Al-LAGP-Al/Li symmetric cells show a low resistance of 210Ωand a durable lifespan over 1,200 h at a high current density of 0.1 mA·cm^(-2).Assembled all solid state lithium metal batteries(ASSLMBs)with LiFePO_(4)(LFP)cathode significantly improve cycle stability and rate performance,proving a promising stabilization strategy towards the NASIOCN type electrolyte/anode interface in solid state Li metal batteries.

The Effect of Psychological Resilience on Hopelessness and Post-Traumatic Growth in Individuals Experienced by Earthquake

Background:Disasters have effects that leave great negative marks on our lives,even after many years have *** who experience an earthquake experience physical and psychological *** purpose of this study is to determine how psychological resilience levels affect the feeling of hopelessness and post-traumatic growth in adults who experienced the 06 February,2023 Turkey-Syria ***:Data were collected using the“Personal Information Form(PIF)”,“Turkish forms of Adult Resilience Measure(ARM)”,“Dispositional Hope Scale(DHS)”and“Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI)”.In order to determine whether there is a significant difference in the effect of psychological resilience of earthquake victims participating in the study on hope and post-traumatic growth levels in terms of socio-demographic variables,after determining that the data was normally distributed,total score average,minimum and maximum values,standard deviation(SD),independent sample t-test,ANOVA,correlation analysis to determine the relationship between the scales and multiple regression analysis to determine the effect between the scales were ***:Of the 202 earthquake victims who participated in the study,65.8%were between the ages of 18–34,67.3%were female,92.1%were not trapped under the rubble,and 34.2%had second-degree relatives trapped under the *** was determined that 77.8%of them lost their relatives in the earthquake and 77.8%of them lost a serious amount of property and money due to the *** a result of the analysis,it was determined that psychological resilience had a statistically significant and positive effect on hopelessness and post-traumatic growth in individuals who experienced the 06 February *** this regard,it has been determined that as the psychological resilience of individuals increases,their hope levels and post-traumatic growth will also ***:Based on the research results,increasing hope and incr

Viewing angle characteristics of a nematic liquid crystal cell with two crossed-grating surface substrates

Liquid crystal in a nematic liquid crystal cell surface with two crossed-grating surface substrates can be oriented along the normal grating direction with given geometric parameters of groove and anchoring strength. This display is equivalent to multi-domain vertical-alignment mode. It has a relatively wide viewing angle. In this letter, we investigate the viewing angle characteristics of this kind of cell. The viewing angle dependence of contrast ratio is obtained using the extended Jones matrix method, which also considers the flexoelectric effect. The viewing angle is dependent on the geometric parameter of grating surface, the flexoelectric coefficients, and the anchoring strength. Therefore, appropriate value for each factor needs to be selected to obtain a better viewing angle of this cell.

Limit Analysis for the Mechanical Structure of the ITER Neutron Shielding Block

The ITER neutron shielding blocks are located between the inner shell and the outer shell of the vacuum vessel （VV） with the main function of providing neutron shielding. Conskicring the combined loads of the shielding blocks during the plasma operation of the ITER, limit analysis for one typical ferromagnetic （FM） shielding block has been performed and the structural design has bccn evaluated based on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers （ASME） criterion and European standards. Results show that the collapse load of this shielding block is three times the specified load, which is much higher than the design requirement of 1.25. The structure of this neutron shielding block has a sufficient safety margin.

Finite Groups with Some Pronormal Subgroups

A subgroup H of finite group G is called pronormal in G if for every element x of G, H is conjugate to Hx in （H, Hx）. A finite group G is called PRN-group if every cyclic subgroup of G of prime order or order 4 is pronormal in G. In this paper, we find all PRN-groups and classify minimal non-PRN-groups （non-PRN-group all of whose proper subgroups are PRN-groups）. At the end of the paper, we also classify the finite group G, all of whose second maximal subgroups are PRN-groups.
