Discovery of multi-drug resistant,MCR-1 and ESBL-coproducing ST117 Escherichia coli from diseased chickens in northeast China

An endemic multi-drug resistant ST117 E. coil isolate coproducing MCR-I and 3 ESBL loci was, for the first time, detected from diseased chicken, Liaoning Province, in Northeast China, from 2011 to 2012. Whole- genome sequencing revealed 5 unique plasmids, namely pHXH-1, pHXH-2, pHXH-3, pHXH-4 and pHXH- 5）. Among them, pHXHI and pHXH4 encode ESBL, and pHXH-5 mediates MCR-1 colistin resistance. The results indicate that the potentially-national dissemination of MCR-l-positive pathogens with pan-drug resistance proceeds via food chains.

Objective:This descriptive study reveals how nurses working in public hospitals rated their practice environments with respect to nurse-friendly hospital ***:This study was conducted on 460 nurses volunteering to participate this study among 735 nurses working in inpatient wards of three public *** were collected using a personal information form and the Adapted Nursing Work ***,percentages,means and standard deviations,t-test and one-way variance analysis were used to evaluate the ***:Among the nurse-friendly hospital criteria,‘control of nursing practice’,‘middle management accountability’and‘quality initiatives’had the highest mean scores,and‘competitive wages’had the lowest mean *** assessments of the nurses presented statistically significant differences with respect to personal and occupational ***:The nurses found most of the nurse-friendly hospital criteria adequate,but they believed that several areas needed improvement.

Shaoyang acupoints are the most frequently used in migraine treatment. However, the central anal- gesic mechanism remains poorly understood. Studies have demonstrated that single stimulus of the verum acupuncture in healthy subjects can induce significant connectivity or activity changes in pain- related central networks compared with sham acupuncture. However, these findings are not indicative of the central analgesic mechanism of acupuncture at Shaoyang acupoints. Thus, we recruited 100 migraine sufferers and randomly assigned them into five groups： Shaoyang uncommon acupoint, Shaoyang common acupoint, Yangming uncommon acupoint, non-acupoint control, and blank control groups. Subjects were subjected to evaluation of curative effects and functional MRI prior to and after 10 and 20 acupuncture treatments. All subjects were diagnosed by physicians and enrolled following clinical physical examination. Subjects were observed during 1-4 weeks after inclusion. At the fifth week, the first clinical evaluation and resting functional MRI were conducted. The Shaoyang uncom- mon acupoint, Shaoyang common acupoint, Yangming uncommon acupoint, and non-acupoint control grousp then were treated with acupuncture, five times per week, 20 times in total over 4 weeks. The second and third clinical evaluations and resting functional MRI screenings were conducted following 10 and 20 acupuncture treatments. The blank control group was observed during the 5 to 8 week pe- riod, followed by clinical evaluation and resting functional MRI. The aim of this study was to examine changes in brain functional activity and central networks in subjects with migraine undergoing acu- puncture at Shaoyang uncommon acupoints. Formation of wavy-ring crack in drying droplet of protein solutions

The formations of desiccation cracks and their pattems in drying droplets of protein solutions are studied experimentally. The solvent evaporation causes the dehydration self-organization phenomenon in colloidal droplets, followed by the formations of desiccation cracks. Two categories of highly ordered crack patterns, which we name ＂daisy＂ and ＂wavy-ring＂, are identified in the drying droplets. We explore the shifting of crack patterns from the ＂daisy＂ to the ＂wavy-ring＂ by varying the concentration of protein droplets. The results show that the concentration correlates with the pattern of deposition film directly, and modulates the periodicity of the crack pattern. We investigate the formations and periodicities of these two kinds of crack patterns, and obtain the scaling law of periodicity of the ＂wavy-ring＂ crack pattern. The relationship between the deposition pattern and the highly ordered crack patterns is also examined. This study will help in understanding the formation mechanisms of crack patterns in drying droplets of protein solutions and assist the future design of crack patterns in practical applications.

Population aging has become a global concern in population *** to good health in older ages are more complex than at any other age and require a comprehensive framework to move the science of aging and health *** this paper,we describe an advanced and evolving conceptual framework that includes definitions,goals,disciplines,and a scope of human aging omics(HAO)based on theories and methods of omics *** development of HAO will bring a paradigm shift in research related to aging and health by systematic identification,characterization,and quantification of all sets of health conditions and their complex relationships with the internal biomolecules and the external environment in the whole aging process of human beings from birth to death throughout the lifespan.

By using fluorescence lifetime image microscope （FLIM） and time-correlated single photon counting （TCSPC） technique, we measured fluorescence lifetime of crude oils with density of 0.9521-0.7606 g/cm3 and multiple petroleum inclusions from Tazhong uplift of Tarim Basin. As indicated by the test results, crude oil density is closely correlated with average fluorescence lifetime following the regression equation Y=-0.0319X＋0.9411, which can thus be used to calculate density of oil inclusions in relation to fluorescence lifetime and density of corresponding surface crude. For type A oil inclusions showing brown-yellow fluorescence from Tazhong 1 well in Tarim Basin, their average fluorescence lifetime was found to be 2.144-2.765 ns, so the density of surface crude corresponding to crude trapping these oil inclusions is 0.852-0.873 g/cm3, indicating that they are matured oil inclusions trapped at earlier stage ofoil formation. For type B oil inclusions with light yellow-white fluorescence, their average fluorescence lifetime was found to be 4.0294.919 ns, so the density of surface crude corresponding to crude trapping these oil inclusions is 0.784-0.812 g/cm3, indicating that they are higher matured oil inclusions trapped at the second stage of oil formation. For type C oil inclusions showing light blue-green fluorescence, their average fluorescence lifetime was found to be 5.0634.168 ns, so the density of surface crude corresponding to crude trapping these oil inclusions is 0.743-0.779 g/cm3, indicating that they are highly-matured light oil inclusions trapped at the third stage of oil formation.

The solving of dynamic matrix square root(DMSR)problems is frequently encountered in many scientific and engineering *** the original zeroing neural network is powerful for solving the DMSR,it cannot vanish the influence of the noise perturbations,and its constant-coefficient design scheme cannot accelerate the convergence ***,a noise-tolerate and adaptive coefficient zeroing neural network(NTACZNN)is raised to enhance the robust noise immunity performance and accelerate the conver-gence speed ***,the global convergence and robustness of the pro-posed NTACZNN are theoretically analysed under an ideal environment and noise-perturbed ***,some illustrative simulation examples are designed and performed in order to substantiate the efficacy and advantage of the NTACZNN for the DMSR problem *** with some existing ZNNs,the proposed NTACZNN possesses advanced performance in terms of noise tolerance,solution accuracy,and convergence rate.

Physalin B(PB),one of the major active steroidal constituents of Solanaceae Physalis plants,has a wide variety of biological *** found that PB significantly down-regulatedβ-amyloid(Aβ)secretion in N2a/APPsw ***,the underlying mechanisms are not well *** the current study,we investigated the changes in key enzymes involved inβ-amyloid precursor protein(APP)metabolism and other APP metabolites by treating N2a/APPsw cells with PB at different *** results indicated that PB reduced Aβ secretion,which was caused by down-regulation of β-secretase(BACE1)expression,as indicated at both the protein and mRNA *** research revealed that PB regulated BACE1 expression by inducing the activation of forkhead box O1(FoxO1)and inhibiting the phosphorylation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3).In addition,the effect of PB on BACE1 expression and Aβsecretion was reversed by treatment with FoxO1 siRNA and STAT3 antagonist *** conclusion,these data demonstrated that PB can effectively down-regulate the expression of BACE1 to reduce Aβsecretion by activating the expression of FoxO1 and inhibiting the phosphorylation of STAT3.

In this paper, the authors study the persistence approximation property for quantitative K-theory of filtered Lpoperator algebras. Moreover, they define quantitative assembly maps for Lpoperator algebras when p ∈ [1, ∞). Finally, in the case of Lpcrossed products and LpRoe algebras, sufficient conditions for the persistence approximation property are found. This allows to give some applications involving the Lp（coarse）Baum-Connes conjecture.
