On Zhang Jingsheng＇s Sexual Discourse： Women＇s Liberation and Translated Discourses on Sexual Differences in 1920s China

This article explores and re-evaluates Zhang Jingsheng＇s views on sex education and aesthetic education, as revealed in his book Sexual Histories and in articles that he published in the journal New Culture. His endorsement of sex education and aesthetic education constructed a sexual discourse, advocating the redefinition- of Chinese men and women＇s gender and sexuality through knowledge/power. Zhang Jingsheng highly valued eugenics and ＂aesthetic sexual intercourse,＂ and he attempted to use sex education to improve Chinese people＇s innate physical weakness and their ＂androgynous＂ sexual characteristics. By prescribing an aesthetic education that covered all fundamental aspects of life, he also attempted to remedy what he saw as the inadequate or inverted models of masculinity and femininity available to Chinese men and women. Furthermore, by collecting and analyzing articles solicited for Sexual Histories and letters addressed to New Culture, he discussed how to cure the sexual perversions that were associated with Chinese men and women＇s sexualities. Finally, this article compares the contents of New Culture with the discourses （in Chinese and other languages） on sexual difference published in other Chinese journals in the 1920s, including how the discourses on sexual difference by Havelock Ellis and Edward Carpenter were translated into the modern Chinese context. The article concludes that the contributors to New Culture held unified opinions on the issues of homosexuality and women＇s liberation. Thus, in comparison with journals such as The Chinese Educational Review, The Ladies ＇Journal, and New Women, New Culture was less tolerant of divergent opinions. Although Zhang supported sexual liberation, he nonetheless sought to eliminate homosexuality from the aesthetic society that he envisioned. Confucian Moral Imagination and Ethics Education in Engineering

Linguistic expressions of despondency:an investigation of Sangness-related Chinese catchwords

Catchwords,as important social and cultural symbols,are the barometer of a country's society and *** China,various catchwords are coined and used every year by Chinese people,especially the *** these catchwords,one particular type that expresses despondency or Sangness is increasingly gaining scholarly *** study takes a socio-linguistic approach to investigating the most frequently used Sangness-related Chinese catchwords in the past ten *** examining the annual top ten catchwords selected by Biting Words and Chewing Words between 2013 and 2022,it finds that the most frequently used Sangness-related Chinese catchwords in the past decade have been(1)Ge You Slouch,(2)feeling awful and wanting to cry,(3)Buddha-like,(4)996 work schedule,(5)life is too hard for me,(6)laborer,(7)involution,(8)lying flat,and(9)mental internal *** catchwords mainly serve the functions of deconstructing mainstream values,expressing self-mockery,and seeking value *** development of these Sangness-related catchwords is characterized by an increasing diversity and a strongerapplicability.

A New Class of Strong Orthogonal Arrays of Strength Three

Strong orthogonal arrays(SOAs) were recently introduced and studied as a class of spacefilling designs for computer experiments. To surely realize better space-filling properties, SOAs of strength three or higher are desirable. In addition, orthogonality is also an important property for designs of computer experiments, because it guarantees that the estimates of the main effects are uncorrelated. This paper first provides a systematic study on the construction of(nearly) orthogonal strength-three SOAs with better space-filling properties. The newly proposed strength-three SOAs enjoy almost the same space-filling properties of strength-four SOAs, and can accommodate much more columns than the latter. Moreover, they are(nearly) orthogonal and flexible in run sizes. The construction methods are straightforward to implement, and their theoretical supports are well established. In addition to the theoretical results, many designs are tabulated for practical needs.

Introduction In Brazil,approximately 5%are born with a congenital disorder,potentially fatal without *** study aims to evaluate the relationship between gastrointestinal congenital malformation(GICM)mortality,health indicators,and socioeconomic factors in *** GICM admissions(Q39-Q45)between 2012 and 2019 were collected using national *** demographics,socioeconomic factors,clinical management,outcomes,and the healthcare workforce density were also accounted *** Surgical Workforce density and the number of neonatal intensive care units in a region were extracted from national datasets and combined to create a clinical index termed'NeoSurg'.Socioeconomic variables were combined to create a socioeconomic index termed SocEcon'.Simple linear regression was used to investigate if the temporal changes of both indexes were *** correlation between mortality and the different indicators in Brazil was evaluated using Pearson's correlation *** Over 8 years,Brazil recorded 12804 GICM *** Southeast led with 6147 cases,followed by the Northeast(2660),South(1727),North(1427),and Midwest(843).The North and Northeast reported the highest mortality,lowest NeoSurg,and SocEcon Index ***,mortality rates declined across regions from 7.7%(2012)to 3.9%(2019),a 51.7%*** North and Midwest experienced the most substantial reductions,at 63%and 75%,*** significantly correlated with the indexes in nearly all regions(psocial determinants of health and GICM mortality in Brazil,using two novel indexes in the pediatric *** findings provide an opportunity to rethink and discuss new indicators that could enhance our understanding of our country and could lead to the development of necessary solutions to tackle existing challenges in Brazil and globally.

The optimization of government subsidies to enhance the efficiency of coal companies’green transformation constitutes a critical component in the pursuit of global *** investigate the influence mechanism of government subsidies on the green transformation using data from the listed coal companies in China from 2007 to *** to our findings and hypothesis testing,previous government subsidies did not have a significant direct impact on coal companies’green ***,government subsidies can help coal companies transition to greener practices by promoting innovative green ***,we confirmed an indirect route:that government subsidies enable the adoption of low-carbon initiatives,which in turn could facilitate the transition of coal companies towards green *** addition,we discovered that the coal company’s digitization will improve this indirect ***,we propose increasing the effectiveness of government subsidies in facilitating coal companies’transition to green practices by focusing on technological advancements and enhancing company digitalization.

Maclaurin Symmetric Mean Aggregation Operators and Their Application to Hesitant Q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Multiple Attribute Decision Making

The Maclaurin symmetric mean(MSM) operator exhibits a desirable characteristic by effectively capturing the correlations among multiple input parameters, and it serves as an extension of certain existing aggregation operators through adjustments to the parameter k. The hesitant q-rung orthopair set(Hq-ROFSs) can serve as an extension of the existing orthopair fuzzy sets, which provides decision makers more freedom in describing their true opinions. The objective of this paper is to present an MSM operator to aggregate hesitant q-rung orthopair numbers and solve the multiple attribute decision making(MADM) problems in which the attribute values take the form of hesitant q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets(H-qROFSs). Firstly, the definition of H-qROFSs and some operational laws of H-qROFSs are proposed. Then we develop a family of hesitant q-rung orthopair fuzzy maclaurin symmetric mean aggregation operators, such as the hesitant q-rung orthopair fuzzy maclaurin symmetric mean(Hq-ROFMSM) operator, the hesitant q-rung orthopair fuzzy weighted maclaurin symmetric mean(Hq-ROFWMSM) operator, the hesitant q-rung orthopair fuzzy dual maclaurin symmetric mean(Hq-ROFDMSM) operator, the hesitant q-rung orthopair fuzzy weighted dual maclaurin symmetric mean(Hq-ROFWDMSM) operator. And the properties and special cases of these proposed operators are studied. Furthermore, an approach based on the Hq-ROFWMSM operator is proposed for multiple attribute decision making problems under hesitant q-rung orthopair fuzzy environment. Finally,a numerical example and comparative analysis is given to illustrate the application of the proposed approach.

Strategic Response to a Powerful Downstream Retailer:Difference-Setting Wholesale Pricing Contract and Partial Forward Integration

We study a supply chain consisted of a supplier and both retailers,and the supplier sells a single product through a dominant retailer and a weak *** aggressive bargaining behavior of the dominant retailer brings the supplier much concern and two feasible strategies are presented to respond to that:difference-setting wholesale pricing contract and integration with the weak *** investigate the decisions of supply chain members under each solution and find that,compared to the traditional form,the supplier always benefits from announcing the difference-setting wholesale pricing contract for it not only raises the marginal wholesale profits of both channels but also reduces the market share of the dominant retailer,thus potentially weakening its channel *** addition,we show that combining with the weak retailer is not a wise choice for suppliers when the dominant retailer with relatively little bargaining power enjoys a large market ***,by comparing the equilibria of these two solutions,we find that the optimal choice for suppliers depends not only on the difference in market share but also on the dominant retailer's bargaining power in the negotiation.

A new monitoring index for ecological vulnerability and its application in the Yellow River Basin,China from 2000 to 2022

The ecological environment of the Yellow River Basin has become more fragile under the combined action of natural and manmade ***,the change mechanisms of ecological vulnerability in different sub-regions and periods vary,and the reasons for this variability are yet to be ***,in this study,we proposed a new remote sensing ecological vulnerability index by considering moisture,heat,greenness,dryness,land degradation,and social economy indicators and then analyzed and disclosed the spatial and temporal change patterns of ecological vulnerability of the Yellow River Basin,China from 2000 to 2022 and its driving *** results showed that the newly proposed remote sensing ecological vulnerability index had a high accuracy,at 86.36%,which indicated a higher applicability in the Yellow River *** 2000 to 2022,the average remote sensing ecological vulnerability index of the Yellow River Basin was 1.03,denoting moderate vulnerability *** intensive vulnerability area was the most widely distributed,which was mostly located in the northern part of Shaanxi Province and the eastern part of Shanxi *** 2000 to 2022,the ecological vulnerability in the Yellow showed an overall stable trend,while that of the central and eastern regions showed an obvious trend of *** gravity center of ecological vulnerability migrated southwest,indicating that the aggravation of ecological vulnerability in the southwestern regions was more severe than in the northeastern regions of the *** dominant single factor of changes in ecological vulnerability shifted from normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)to temperature from 2000 to 2022,and the interaction factors shifted from temperature∩NDVI to temperature∩precipitation,which indicated that the global climate change exerted a more significant impact on regional *** above results could provide decision support for the ecological protection and restoration of the Y
