The composition of magmatic-hydrothermal fluids and their related metal mineralization

Magmatic hydrothermal deposits are important sources of many bulk, precious, and rare metals, and have attracted interest from both academic and industrial communities. However, it is still unclear if the major enrichment of the ore-forming metals occurs in the parental magma source region, during the magma evolution, or after the fluid exsolution. Fluid inclusions trapped in hydrothermal minerals crystallized in the early, high-temperature stage before metal precipitation record information close to that of the initially exsolved magmatic fluids, which are helpful in revealing whether the metals have been already significantly enriched prior to the hydrothermal stage. In this study, available compositional data of such early-stage fluid inclusions from magmatic hydrothermal systems globally have been compiled. The results indicate that the concentrations of Cu,Sn, and W respectively from the Cu-, Sn-, and W-mineralized fluids are significantly higher than the hydrothermal systems that do not produce ores with the corresponding metals. This suggests that Cu, Sn, and W could have already been enriched in the magma source and/or magma evolution stage. The Mo concentrations show no difference between Mo-mineralized and Mobarren fluid systems, indicating no significant pre-enrichment in the source region or during the magma evolution. This also implies that an efficient collection of Mo from a large volume of magmas is required to account for the formation of a large Mo deposit. Almost all the hydrothermal fluids contain high concentrations of Fe and Zn-Pb, but only a few of them eventually form Fe or Zn-Pb deposits, reflecting an important role of the hydrothermal evolution process on the selective metal *** above results indicate that different metals are enriched in different stages of a magmatic hydrothermal system, and that the major roles played in the formation of a deposit vary with the metal types. 1. Introduction Halogens, including fluorine(F), chlorine(Cl), bromine(Br), and iodine(I), are highly mobile and water-soluble elements that can become significantly enriched in melts and fluids. In fluids and melts, halogens react with nearly all metals and readily form complexes with metal cations, significantly influencing the distribution of metal elements between different phases. Therefore, halogens play a crucial role in the migration, enrichment, and mineralization of key metals in the lithosphere(Weis et al., 2012; Liu et al., 2024).

AQDS Enhances Degradation of BDE-47 by Promoting Shewanella oneidensis MR-1-mediated Fenton Reaction with Fe(III)-containing Minerals

Electron shuttles are widespread in the environments and play important role in microbe-mineral interaction. This study investigated the effects of a model electron shuttle (i.e.， anthraquinone-2， 6-disulfonate， AQDS) on Shewanella oneidensis MR-1-mediated Fenton reaction and subsequent degradation of 2， 2′， 4， 4′-tetrabrominated diphenyl ether (BDE-47). Three Fe(III)-containing minerals， namely， ferrihydrite， goethite and nontronite， were used as electron acceptors and Fe(II) sources. With each mineral， additions of 0.01 – 1 mM AQDS in the reactions significantly enhanced Fe(III) reduction by S. oneidensis MR-1 and increased the amounts of Fe(II) produced in anoxic phase. As a result， the amounts of cumulative ·OH formed in oxic phase were increased by 10% – 287%. Regression analysis revealed that ·OH cumulation has significant linear correlation with sorbed Fe(II) but not aqueous and structural Fe(II). This finding may be ascribed to the higher reactivity of sorbed Fe(II) in oxygenation than the latter two types of Fe(II). With more ·OH， the degradation efficiency of BDE-47 was elevated by 31% – 173%. Collectively， AQDS enhances ·OH formation and BDE-47 degradation by promoting production of Fe(II)， particularly sorbed Fe(II) in S. oneidensis MR-1-mediated Fenton reaction with Fe(III)-containing minerals.

Sporadic E responds to the 2022 Tonga volcano eruptions recorded by the Meridian Project

In this study,ionosonde observations over Fuke(19.5°N,109.1°E),Wuhan(30.5°N,114.4°E),and Mohe(53.5°N,122.3°E)were analyzed to demonstrate the responses of the sporadic E()to the severe atmospheric disturbances caused by the Tonga volcanic eruptions on January 15,*** most prominent signature was the disappearance of the layer after~10:00 UT over Wuhan and Fuke,which was attributed to the vertical drift caused by the *** occurred intermittently after 13:00 UT following the arrival of the tropospheric Lamb *** examine the causal mechanism for the intermittence,we also included data of horizontal winds in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere region recorded by the meteor radars at Wuhan and Mohe in this *** wind disturbances with periods of~20 hours contributed to the formation of the layer in the nighttime on January 15.

Double carbohelicenes have attracted considerable attention due to their aesthetic structures, distinct π-conjugation extension, inherent chirality, and intriguing optical and electronic properties. Herein, the concise de novo synthesis of a new double[5]carbohelicene 1 together with its chiroptical properties, isomerization process and lasing application is presented. 1 was synthesized by a simple protocol involving the formation of a 6,6′-bipentacene as the key intermediate. It is worth noting that1 existed as two diastereomers 1-PP/MM and 1-PM, which were successfully isolated and unambiguously confirmed by Xray crystallography. The optical resolution of the racemic 1-PP/MM was successfully achieved by chiral-phase highperformance liquid chromatography（HPLC）, and 1-PP and 1-MM were characterized by circular dichroism. Interestingly, it was found that 1-PP/MM could be completely isomerized to 1-PM upon heating, and the detailed thermodynamics and kinetics of the isomerization process were systematically investigated. 1-PM exhibited deep-red luminescence with emission maximum at 723 nm and fluorescence quantum yield as high as 32.95%. Consequently, we can showcase the lasing application of 1-PM by doping with epoxy resin to assemble a bottle microlaser spontaneously, which the lasing wavelength is 796.6 nm at a threshold of 0.8 m J cm-2. We believe that our studies, including the facile synthesis methodology, detailed isomerization studies, and lasing application, will shed some light on the design and synthesis of novel carbohelical systems with more functions.

Study of the Transport Behavior of Multispherical Proppant in Intersecting Fracture Based on Discrete Element Method

To analyze the differences in the transport and distribution of different types of proppants and to address issues such as the short effective support of proppant and poor placement in hydraulically intersecting fractures,this study considered the combined impact of geological-engineering factors on *** reservoir production parameters and the discrete elementmethod,multispherical proppants were ***,a 3D fracture model,based on the specified conditions of the L block,employed coupled(Computational Fluid Dynamics)CFD-DEM(Discrete ElementMethod)for joint simulations to quantitatively analyze the transport and placement patterns of multispherical proppants in intersecting *** indicate that turbulent kinetic energy is an intrinsic factor affecting proppant ***,the efficiency of placement and migration distance of low-sphericity quartz sand constructed by the DEM in the main fracture are significantly reduced compared to spherical ceramic proppants,with a 27.7%decrease in the volume fraction of the fracture surface,subsequently affecting the placement concentration and damaging fracture *** to small-angle fractures,controlling artificial and natural fractures to expand at angles of 45°to 60°increases the effective support length by approximately 20.6%.During hydraulic fracturing of gas wells,ensuring the fracture support area and post-closure conductivity can be achieved by controlling the sphericity of proppants and adjusting the perforation direction to control the direction of artificial fractures.

Formation mechanism of deep natural hydrogen in the Sichuan Basin

As a potential renewable and clean energy source,the distribution and exploration prospects of natural hydrogen have garnered widespread ***,the limitations in understanding the formation mechanisms and accumulation patterns of underground natural hydrogen have significantly constrained its efficient exploration and *** study reports H2content and isotopes in natural gas from deep formations in sedimentary basins through geochemical analysis of 58 conventional gas samples from the Sinian to Triassic strata in the central Sichuan *** discovered that H2content in deep natural gas in central Sichuan generally exceeds 0.1%,with a maximum of 1.6%,and hydrogen isotopes (δ2HH2) range from-850‰to-586‰.Analysis of the geological conditions,hydrogen generation mechanisms,and isotope fractionation characteristics in the study area confirms that microbial fermentation or in-situ organic matter cracking are not effective pathways for deep *** with helium content and isotope analysis of the natural gas,it is inferred that the volcanic basement in the central Sichuan area is the potential source rock for natural H2in the Sinian to Triassic ***,H2originates from the radiolysis of water and hydrothermal reactions of Fe（II） in the basement ***,a diffusion fractionation model reveals significant isotope fractionation during the migration and accumulation of deep H2into sedimentary reservoirs,which lead to anomalously light δ2HH2in deep natural gas in central *** indicates that the underground natural hydrogen accumulation is in a long-term dynamic process,with simultaneous H2accumulation and dissipation in the gas *** research not only elucidates the formation mechanism of deep H2but also provides insights for the resource potential of natural hydrogen in sedimentary basins.

On the existence of solutions for prescribing fractional Q-curvature problem on S~n

The aim of this paper is to investigate the existence of solutions to the prescribing fractional Q-curvature problem on S~n under some reasonable assumption of the Laplacian sign at the critical point of prescribing curvature function K. Due to the lack of compactness, we choose to return to the basic elements of variational theory and study the deformation along the flow lines. The novelty of the paper is that we obtain the existence without assuming any symmetry and periodicity on K. In addition,to overcome the loss of compactness for high-order operator problem, we need more delicate estimates with the second order cases.
