Seawater electrolysis is a promising approach for sustainable energy without relying on precious ***,the large-scale seawater electrolysis is hindered by low catalytic efficiency and severe anode corrosion caused by the harmful *** contrast to the oxygen evolution reaction （OER）and chlorin ion oxidation reaction （ClOR）,glycerol oxidation reaction （GOR） is more thermodynamically and kinetically favorable ***,a Ru doping cobalt phosphide （Ru-CoP2） is proposed as a robust bifunctional electrocatalyst for seawater electrolysis and GOR,for the concurrent productions of hydrogen and value-added *** in situ and ex situ characterization analyses demonstrated that Ru doping featured in the dynamic reconstruction process from Ru-CoP2to Ru-CoOOH,accounting for the superior GOR *** coupling GOR with hydrogen evolution was realized by employing Ru-CoP2as both anode and cathode,requiring only a low voltage of 1.43 V at 100 mA cm-2,which was 250 m V lower than that in alkaline *** work guides the design of bifunctional electrocatalysts for energy-efficient seawater electrolysis coupled with biomass resource upcycling.

The depression mechanism of sulfite ions on sphalerite and Pb^(2+)activated sphalerite in the flotation separation of galena from sphalerite still lacked in-depth ***,the depression mechanism of sulfite ions on sphalerite and Pb^(2+)activated sphalerite in the flotation separation of galena from sphalerite was further systematically investigated with experiments and density functional theory(DFT)*** X-ray photoelectric spectroscopy(XPS)results,DFT calculation results,and frontier molecular orbital analysis indicated that sulfite ions were difficult to be adsorbed on sphalerite surface,suggesting that sulfite ions achieved depression effects on sphalerite through other non-adsorption ***,the oxygen content in the surface of sphalerite treated with sulfite ions in creased,which enhanced the hydrophilicity of the sphalerite and further increased the difference in hydrophilicity between sphalerite and ***,sulfite ions were chelated with lead ions to form PbSO_(3)in *** hydrophilic PbSO_(3)was more easily adsorbed on sphalerite than *** interaction between sulfite ions and lead ions could effectively inhibit the activation of *** addition the UV spectrum showed that after adding sulfite ions,the peak of perxanthate in the sphalerite treated xanthate solution was significantly stronger than that in the galena with xanthate solution,indicating that xanthate interacted more readily with sulfite ions and oxygen mo lecules within the sphalerite system,leading to the formation of ***,sulfite ions hardly depressed the flotation of ga lena and could promote the flotation of galena to some *** study deepened the understanding of the depression mechanism o sulfite ions on sphalerite and Pb^(2+)activated sphalerite.

The majority of multinational enterprises （MNEs） traditionally originate from developed countries. In the last ten years, however, there has been dramatic growth in foreign direct investment （FDI） from China. It is a comparatively new phenomenon that challenges the classic FDI theories. In this paper, we review the pros and cons of two important theories, known as the Owner- ship-Location-Internalization （0LI） model and Linkage-Leverage-Learning （LLL） model, and use the statistical data and company case studies from China to test the plausibility of these two models. We believe that neither of them suits totally： the OLI model is quite use- fill for understanding FDI from China to developing economies, while the LLL model is more powerful for explaining the FDI to de- veloped economies. We argue that the companies from China attain a very advantageous position as intermediates in the global economy They may catch up with the first movers if they integrate OLI-led and LLL-led FDI within one firm. This combination can bring to- gether the most advanced knowledge acquired in developed economies with the knowledge about adaptation needs and the needs for cost reduction in production as expressed in developing economies. It may also accelerate the knowledge transfer globally. We thus fill a gap in research into the geographical pattern of Chinese FDI and offer a deeper understanding of the internationalization of Chinese MNEs and revolving knowledge transfer.

The cycloaddition reaction of CO_(2)with epoxide not only effectively reduces the concentration of CO_(2)in the atmosphere,but also has excellent industrial application value and up to 100%atom utilization,but there are difficulties in separation and recovery of traditional homogeneous catalysts,harsh reaction conditions of traditional heterogeneous catalysts,and activation of CO_(2)*** this paper,an easily synthesized heterogeneous catalyst CeNCl/C was used to catalyze the cycloaddition reaction of CO_(2)with styrene oxide,with a high yield of 92.7%,a high selectivity of 96.7%,a turnover numbers(TON)value of 349,and a good stability demonstrated in six cycle tests(equivalent to 216 h of testing).Through comprehensive studies,it was shown that CeNCl/C contains Lewis acid-base centers as active centers,which can effectively reduce the energy barrier required for ring opening of the reaction substrate,enhance the adsorption and activation of CO_(2),and promote the formation of intermediates,which led to the acquisition of excellent catalytic activity.

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries （AZIBs） exhibit appreciable potential in the domain of electrochemical energy ***,there are serious challenges for AZIBs,for instance zinc dendrite growth,hydrogen evolution reaction （HER）,and corrosion side ***,we propose a surface engineering modification strategy for coating the montmorillonite （MMT） layer onto the surface of the Zn anode to tackle these issues,thereby achieving high cycling stability for rechargeable *** results reveal that the MMT layer on the surface of the Zn anode is able to provide ordered zincophilic channels for zinc ions migration,facilitating the reaction kinetics of zinc *** functional theory（DFT） calculations and water contact angle （CA） tests prove that MMT@Zn anode exhibits superior adsorption capacity for Zn2+and better hydrophobicity than the bare Zn anode,thereby achieving excellent cycling ***,the MMT@Zn||MMT@Zn symmetric cell holds the stable cycling over 5600 h at 0.5 mA cm-2and 0.125 m A h cm-2,even exceeding 1800 h long cycling under harsh conditions of 5 m A cm-2and 1.25 m A h *** MMT@Zn||V2O5full cell reaches over 3000 cycles at 2 A g-1with excellent rate ***,this surface engineering modification strategy for enhancing the electrochemical performance of AZIBs represents a promising application.

The advancement of direct seawater electrolysis is a significant step towards sustainable hydrogen production,addressing the critical need for renewable energy sources and efficient resource ***,direct seawater electrolysis has to face several challenges posed by the corrosiveness of highly concentrated chloride and the competitive chlorine evolution reaction(ClER).To overcome these issues,we designed a novel NiP_(2)@CoP electrocatalyst on a porous titanium microfiltration(Ti MF)*** obtained bifunctional NiP_(2)@CoP catalyst outperforms the Pt/C and IrO_(2),as evidenced by its low overpotentials of 192 and 425 mV at a current density of 500 mA·cm^(-2) for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)in alkaline seawater(1 M KOH+0.5 M NaCl),***,only 231 and 569 mV overpotentials are required at the current density of 1500 mA·cm^(-2) towards HER and OER in alkaline seawater,*** importantly,no ClER was observed,demonstrating its excellent selectivity to *** selection of porous Ti MF membrane as an electrode substrate further enhances the performance by providing a robust structure that promotes the fast generation and release of gas *** promising outcomes obtained with NiP_(2)@CoP catalysts on Ti MF support,therefore,pave the way for the commercial viability of direct seawater electrolysis technologies at industrial-level current densities.

Preparation and electrocatalytic properties of Ti/IrO_2-Ta_2O_5 anodes for oxygen evolution

The preparation and electrocatalytic activity for oxygen evolution of the thermally prepared Ti anodes coated with IrO2-Ta2O5 were studied. The structure and morphologies of the oxide films with different contents of IrO2 were determined by XRD and SEM respectively. Their electrochemical properties were studied by Linear Sweep Voltammetry, Tafel Plot and Cyclic Voltammetry. The results show that iridium and tantalum can form solid solution and the mutual solubility is affected by the ratio of Ir to Ta in coating solution. With increasing IrO2 content in the coatings, the amount of fine crystallites of IrO2 is increased and the electrocatalytic capability of oxygen evolution is strengthened. The coating adhesion and rigidity decrease, which affects electrochemical activity of the anode when the content of IrO2 is too high. The electrochemically active surface area is determined not only by the content of IrO2but also the structure and morphology of the anode coatings. It is probably due to the existence of proper quantities of inert Ta2O5 which results in a typical morphology of cracks and solid solution structure.

The Drivers of Land Use Change in the Migration Area, Three Gorges Project, China: Advances and Prospects

This paper reviewed existing literatures on land use change since the demonstration phase of the Three Gorges Project and found that reservoir inundation, migration resettlement, urban relocation, and post-supporting construction were first paid more attention to, when analyzing the driving forces of land use change in the migration area. However, at the post-migration period （the end of migration resettlement）, above-mentioned drivers had not obviously driven land use change, but the evolutions of ＂migration demands＂ replacing them increasingly became the major drivers of land use change in the migration area. Therefore, the future priority fields of land use explanations in the mi- gration area, Three Gorges Project were （1） identifying the corresponding relationships between the spatial distributions of land use change and migration resettlement and indigenous inhabitants; （2） un- derstanding the change of ＂migration demands＂ and their causing ＂indigenous inhabitants＇ demands＂ being how to drive land use transforms; （3） finding the driving processes of the conflict and exclusion between immigrants and indigenous inhabitants, and the transfer of immigrants and indigenous in- habitants on land use change; and （4） measuring the dynamic feedback of ＂migration demands＂ at dif- ferent stages on the processes, directions and their corresponding impacts of land use change in order to building the coupling framework among ＂migration demands＂, driver behaviors, and land use. This paper presents a new access for the explanation of land use change and also supplies scientific proofs to obtain adaptive decision-making to optimize land use patterns in the migration area, Three Gorges Project.

Simulating Evolution of a Loess Gully Head with Cellular Automata

This paper presents a new method for simulating the evolution of a gully head in a loess catchment with cellular automata(CA) based on the Fisher discriminant. The experimental site is an indoor loess catchment that was constructed in a fixed-intensity rainfall erosion test facility. Nine high-resolution digital elevation model(DEM) data sets were gathered by close range photogrammetry during different phases of the experiment. To simulate the evolution of the catchment gully head, we assumed the following. First, the 5th and 6th DEM data sets were used as a data source for acquiring the location of the catchment gully head and for obtaining spatial variables with GIS spatial analysis tools. Second, the Fisher discriminant was used to calculate the weight of the spatial variables to determine the transition probabilities. Third, CA model was structured to simulate the evolution of the gully head by iterative looping. The status of the cell in the CA models was dynamically updated at the end of each loop to obtain realistic results. Finally, the nearest neighbor, G-function, K-function, Moran′s I and fractal indexes were used to evaluate the model results. Overall, the CA model can be used to simulate the evolution of a loess gully head. The experiment demonstrated the advantages of the CA model which can simulate the dynamic evolution of gully head evolution in a catchment.
