Inertinite in coal and its geoenvironmental significance:Insights from AI and big data analysis

Inertinite,as an important and abundant maceral group in coal,is critical for the study of palaeowildfires and their roles in the Earth’s ***,there has been a significant amount of research on the relationship between palaeowildfire,palaeoclimate change and palaeovegetation evolution based on inertinite *** reflectance of fusinite and semifusinite has been used to estimate the combustion temperature and type of palaeowildfires,and then to evaluate the combustion characteristics of different types of *** relative abundance of inertinite can be used to estimate the atmospheric oxygen *** rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)and online tools to search scientific databases has presented an opportunity for us to find,collect,arrange,and analyse data from the earliest to latest publications on *** data extraction tool Deep Shovel is used to collect and analyse global inertinite data from the Silurian to the *** software programs such as Gplates,ArcGIS pro and Tableau are then applied to model the relative abundance of inertinite over geological time,which can be correlated with other parameters such as atmospheric oxygen contents,plant evolution and palaeoclimate *** distribution of inertinite in coals varied over different geological periods,being typified by the“high inertinite content-high atmospheric oxygen level”period in the Permian and the“low inertinite content-low atmospheric oxygen level”period in the *** study has proposed a possible model of the positive and negative feedbacks between inertinite characteristics and palaeoenvironmental factors,and has revealed the exceptional role of inertinite in palaeoenvironmental *** research on inertinite will be focused on the integrated study of organic petrology and organic geochemistry of inertinite,the big data-driven research on the temporal and spatial distribution of the global inertinite,the exploration of the

The main contribution of this paper is the development and demonstration of a novel methodology that can be followed to develop a simulation twin of a railway track switch system to test the functionality in a digital *** is important because,globally,railway track switches are used to allow trains to change routes;they are a key part of all railway ***,because track switches are single points of failure and safety-critical,their inability to operate correctly can cause significant delays and concomitant *** order to better understand the dynamic behaviour of switches during operation,this paper has developed a full simulation twin of a complete track switch *** approach fuses finite element for the rail bending and motion,with physics-based models of the electromechanical actuator system and the control ***,it provides researchers and engineers the opportunity to explore and understand the design space around the dynamic operation of new switches and switch machines before they are *** is useful for looking at the modification or monitoring of existing switches,and it becomes even more important when new switch concepts are being considered and *** simulation is capable of running in real time or faster meaning designs can be iterated and checked *** paper describes the modelling approach,demonstrates the methodology by developing the system model for a novel“REPOINT”switch system,and evaluates the system level performance against the dynamic performance requirements for the *** the context of that case study,it is found that the proposed new actuation system as designed can meet(and exceed)the system performance requirements,and that the fault tolerance built into the actuation ensures continued operation after a single actuator failure.

Active flutter suppression of nonlinear fin-actuator system via inverse system and immersion and invariance method

Structural nonlinearities such as freeplay will affect the stability and even flight safety of the fin-actuator *** is a lack of a practical method for designing Active Flutter Suppression (AFS) control laws for nonlinear fin-actuator systems.A design method for the AFS controller of the nonlinear all-movable fin-electromechanical actuator system is established by combining the inverse system and the Immersion and Invariance (I&I) ***,the composite control law combining the inverse system principle and internal model control is used to offset the nonlinearity and dynamics of the actuator,so that its driving torque can follow the ideal ***,the ideal torque of the actuator is designed employing the I&I *** unfavorable oscillation of the fin is suppressed by making the output torque of the actuator track the ideal *** simulation results reveal that the proposed AFS method can increase the flutter speed of the nonlinear finactuator system with freeplay,and a set of controller parameters is also applicable for wider freeplay within a certain *** power required for the actuator does not exceed the power that can be provided by the commonly used aviation *** method can also resist a certain level of noise and external disturbance.

Changes in human settlement environments and their drivers in valley cities located in arid and semi-arid regions:A case study of Lanzhou in Western China

Development of urban human settlement environments(HSEs)is an integral part of promoting high-quality and sustainable regional development and constructing a beautiful *** city of Lanzhou,located at the geometric center of China,is the only provincial capital traversed by the Yellow *** the constraints posed by the valley topography and the need for economic development,the development of this HSE,which is located within an arid region,poses considerable ***,an understanding of the evolution of HSEs and drivers of changes in them contributes to high-quality,sustainable urban development in arid and semi-arid *** analytical model was developed using the parameters of relief degree of land surface,human comfort days,the land cover index,nighttime light index,and *** model was used in combination with population density and the gross domestic product to analyze the spatial distribution of Lanzhou's HSE and its *** results showed that landscapes in Lanzhou underwent significant changes between 2000 and 2022,with an increase in building-up land(+0.946%),cultivated land(+0.134%),and forest land(+0.018%)and a decrease in grassland(-1.10%).There was significant outward expansion of the main urban zone of Lanzhou and of various county towns,with the increase in building-up land being most *** this period,there were significant changes in the periphery of the core urban area and county towns in Lanzhou,with decreases moving from the urban center(the highest value)to the surrounding areas(Yongdeng County had the lowest value).The correlation between the HSE and population density grew stronger in Anning and Chengguan Districts but became weaker in Xigu and Qilihe *** variations in the HSE were primarily caused by climate change,followed by human activities,and were also influenced by the valley ***,the spatial distribution of population density and the HSE in Lanzhou d

Under illumination by 405,520 and 655 nm monochromatic visible light(light intensity of 30 kW/m^(2)),large photostriction(ΔL/L)of 0.19%,0.13%and 0.26%for 67BiFeO_(3)-33BaTiO_(3)(67BF-33BT)lead-free ferroelectric ceramics are obtained,*** studying the ferroelectric and photoelectric properties in conjunction with in situ Raman spectroscopy,it is found that the photostrictive effect of 67BF-33BT is not caused by the electrical strain induced by abnormal photovoltaic voltage,but related to the optical induced oxygen octahedral *** 67BF-33BT lead-free ferroelectric material with excellent photostrictive response in the visible light region is expected to play an important role in the field of optical drive electromechanical devices.

This research paper presents a novel optimization method called the Synergistic Swarm Optimization Algorithm(SSOA).The SSOA combines the principles of swarmintelligence and synergistic cooperation to search for optimal solutions efficiently.A synergistic cooperation mechanism is employed,where particles exchange information and learn from each other to improve their search *** cooperation enhances the exploitation of promising regions in the search space while maintaining exploration ***,adaptive mechanisms,such as dynamic parameter adjustment and diversification strategies,are incorporated to balance exploration and *** leveraging the collaborative nature of swarm intelligence and integrating synergistic cooperation,the SSOAmethod aims to achieve superior convergence speed and solution quality performance compared to other optimization *** effectiveness of the proposed SSOA is investigated in solving the 23 benchmark functions and various engineering design *** experimental results highlight the effectiveness and potential of the SSOA method in addressing challenging optimization problems,making it a promising tool for a wide range of applications in engineering and *** codes of SSOA are available at:https://***/matlabcentral/fileexchange/153466-synergistic-swarm-optimization-algorithm.

Pedestrian lane formation with following–overtaking model and measurement of system order

Pedestrian self-organizing movement plays a significant role in evacuation studies and architectural *** formation,a typical self-organizing phenomenon,helps pedestrian system to become more orderly,the majority of following behavior model and overtaking behavior model are imprecise and unrealistic compared with pedestrian movement in the real *** this study,a pedestrian dynamic model considering detailed modelling of the following behavior and overtaking behavior is constructed,and a method of measuring the lane formation and pedestrian system order based on information entropy is *** and analysis demonstrate that the following and avoidance behaviors are important factors of lane formation.A high tendency of following results in good lane *** non-selective following behavior and aggressive overtaking behavior cause the system order to *** most orderly following strategy for a pedestrian is to overtake the former pedestrian whose speed is lower than approximately 70%of his *** influence of the obstacle layout on pedestrian lane and egress efficiency is also studied with this *** presence of a small obstacle does not obstruct the walking of pedestrians;in contrast,it may help to improve the egress efficiency by guiding the pedestrian flow and mitigating the reduction of pedestrian system orderliness.

Developing biophilic intermediate spaces for Arctic housing:Optimizing the thermal,visual,and energy performance

Connecting occupants to the outdoor environment and incorporating biophilic design principles are challenging in extreme Arctic climatic *** Arctic housing models do not provide efficient thermal and daylight transitions which are essential for the well-being and cultural needs of their *** address these challenges,this research develops free-running biophilic intermediate spaces,integrated into an existing Arctic housing *** simulation methods are employed to optimize the primary and secondary architectural design variables for 26 case studies of intermediate *** variables include volume,transparency ratio,and *** variables include materials and physical ***,Daylight Factor/Autonomy,and Energy Use are evaluated as performance *** reveal that free-running intermediate spaces with 6 meters depth and a transparency ratio above 50%provide efficient indoor–outdoor transitions regarding thermal,visual,and energy *** architectural configurations contribute to an approximately 5%reduction in energy consumption within the housing unit compared to the *** side windows prevents the risk of overheating during the summer by reducing the average indoor temperature of intermediate spaces by 7°C but increases the overall energy *** a potential alternative to double-glazing,polycarbonate sheets enable efficient thermal performance by increasing the average indoor temperature of intermediate spaces by approximately 15°C during the cold Arctic *** polycarbonate sheets results in a 16.6%reduction in energy consumption compared to using double-glazing material in intermediate space,and a 26%reduction from the *** outcomes contribute to efficient indoor–outdoor connections and energy efficiency in Arctic housing.

Solar-driven interfacial evaporation from seawater is considered an effective way to alleviate the emerging freshwater crisis because of its green and environmentally friendly ***,developing an evaporator with high efficiency,stability,and salt resistance remains a key ***,with an internal photothermal conversion efficiency of 100%,has received tremendous research interest as a photothermal ***,the process to prepare the MXene with monolayer is inefficient and generates a large amount of“waste”MXene sediments(MS).Here,MXene sediments is selected as the photothermal material,and a three-dimensional MXene sediments/poly(vinyl alcohol)/sodium alginate aerogel evaporator with vertically aligned pores by directional freezing method is innovatively *** vertical porous structure enables the evaporator to improve water transport,light capture,and high evaporation *** swabs and polypropylene are used as the water channel and support,respectively,thus fabricating a self-floating *** evaporator exhibits an evaporation rate of 3.6 kg m^(-2)h^(-1)under one-sun illumination,and 18.37 kg m^(-2)of freshwater is collected in the condensation collection device after 7 h of outdoor sun *** evaporator also displays excellent oil and salt *** research fully utilizes“waste”MS,enabling a self-floating evaporation device for freshwater collection.

As one of the core parts,the brake discs directly impact the braking and safety performance of *** surface detection methods of the brake disc have poor robustness due to their reliance on manual feature extraction.A detection instrument was designed to focus on the *** features were extracted using the improved Gaussian difference algorithm and Hough transform algorithm(IGD-IHT).An identification method for brake disc surface defects was designed in this paper based on the Perception-based Image Quality Evaluator and Dempster rule-improved sparrow search algorithm-Nonlinear echo state network(PIQEDS-ISSA-NESN) to better *** was shown in the experiment that the accuracy was more than 97%,the false alarm rate was less than 1.5%,and the false alarm rate was less than 1.5%.
