This study aimed to introduce a minimally invasive technique for maxillary sinus floor elevation using the lateral approach(lSFE)and to determine the factors that influence the stability of the grafted area in the sinus *** patients(30 implants)treated with lSFE using minimally invasive techniques from 2015 to 2019 were included in the *** aspects of the implant(central,mesial,distal,buccal,and palatal bone heights[BHs])were measured using cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT)before implant surgery,immediately after surgery(T0),6 months after surgery(T1),and at the last follow-up visit(T2).Patients’characteristics were collected.A small bone window(height,(4.40±0.74)mm;length,(6.26±1.03)mm)was *** implant failed during the follow-up period(3.67±1.75)*** of the 30 implants exhibited *** in BH of the five aspects of implants showed strong correlations with each other and BH decreased dramatically before second-stage *** bone height(RBH)did not significantly influence BH changes,whereas smoking status and type of bone graft materials were the potentially influential *** the approximate three-year observation period,lSFE with a minimally invasive technique demonstrated high implant survival rate and limited bone reduction in grafted *** conclusion,lSFE using minimally invasive techniques was a viable treatment *** who were nonsmokers and whose sinus cavity was filled with deproteinized bovine bone mineral(DBBM)had significantly limited bone resorption in grafted area.

Background:Further advancement in schistosomiasis prevention requires new tools to assess protective motivation,and promote innovative intervention *** study aimed to develop and evaluate an instrument developed based on the Protection Motivation Theory(PMT)to predict protective behavior intention against schistosomiasis among adolescents in ***:We developed the Schistosomiasis PMT Scale based on two appraisal pathways of protective motivation-threat appraisal pathway and coping appraisal *** from a large sample of middle school students(n=2238,51%male,mean age 13.13±1.10)recruited in Hubei,China was used to evaluated the validity and reliability of the ***:The final scale contains 18 items with seven ***’s Alpha coefficients for the entire instrument was 0.76,and for the seven sub-constructs of severity,vulnerability,intrinsic reward,extrinsic reward,response efficacy,self-efficacy and response cost was 0.56,0.82,0.75,0.80,0.90,0.72 and 0.70,*** construct validity analysis revealed that the one level 7 sub-constructs model fitted data well(GFI=0.98,CFI=0.98,RMSEA=0.03,Chi-sq/df=3.90,p<0.001).Predictive validity showed that both the PMT instrument score and the 7 sub-construct scores were significantly correlated with the intention engaged in protective behavior against schistosomiasis(p<0.05).Conclusions:This study provides a reliable and valid tool to measure protective motivation in schistosomiasis prevention *** studies are needed to develop more effective intervention programs for schistosomiasis prevention.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)global public health emergency,has exposed the fragility of health *** to healthcare became a scarce commodity as healthcare providers and resource-poor populations became victims of the novel corona ***,this study focuses on Africa’s readiness to integrate telemedicine into the weak health systems and its adoption may help alleviate poor healthcare and poverty after *** conducted a narrative review through different search strategies in Scopus on January 20,2021,to identify available literature reporting implementation of various telemedicine modes in Africa from January 1,2011 to December 31,*** summarized 54 studies according to geographies,field,and implementation *** results show a willingness to adopt telemedicine in the resource-poor settings and hard-to-reach populations,which will bring relief to the inadequate healthcare systems and alleviate poverty of those who feel the burden of healthcare cost the *** adequate government financing,telemedicine promises to enhance the treating of communicable and non-communicable diseases as well as support health *** can also alleviate poverty among vulnerable groups and hard-to-reach communities in Africa with adequate government ***,given the lack of funding in Africa,the challenges in implementing telemedicine require global and national strategies before it can yield promising *** is especially true in regards to alleviating the multidimensionality of poverty in post-COVID-19 Africa.

In the past 30 years,the life expectancy in China continues to rise yet at a slower pace because of,in large part,the heavy burden of chronic diseases on older age *** on data obtained from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2019 and the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019,this study applies Arriaga’s decomposition method to decompose the age/cause-specific contributions to life expectancy gap between China and South Korea during 1990-2019,which could provide understanding on mortality patterns and heavy burden by chronic disease resulting from an aging *** study has found that the life expectancy gap between these two countries for females has remained constant,while that of males has been increasing during the same *** finding is that non-communicable diseases,like cardiovascular diseases among the elderly(aged 60+),explain a large and enlarging part of the life expectancy gap between China and South Korea,especially among *** addition,maternal and neonatal disorders among children(age group 1-4ys)contribute less and less to life expectancy *** observations suggest a convergence of mortality pattern among younger age groups as well as the continued existence of substantial gaps among older age ***,given the precedent of South Korea,China should also take suicide as another issue with greater attention in the ***,this study concludes by suggesting targeted public health policies to reduce mortality in certain age groups and save more lives from certain diseases.
