Gradient magnetic heterointerfaces have injected infinite vitality in optimizing impedance matching,adjusting dielectric/magnetic resonance and promoting electromagnetic(EM)wave absorption,but still exist a significant challenging in regulating local phase ***,accordion-shaped Co/Co_(3)O_(4)@N-doped carbon nanosheets(Co/Co_(3)O_(4)@NC)with gradient magnetic heterointerfaces have been fabricated via the cooperative high-temperature carbonization and lowtemperature oxidation *** results indicate that the surface epitaxial growth of crystal Co_(3)O_(4) domains on local Co nanoparticles realizes the adjustment of magnetic-heteroatomic components,which are beneficial for optimizing impedance matching and interfacial ***,gradient magnetic heterointerfaces simultaneously realize magnetic coupling,and long-range magnetic ***,the synthesized Co/Co_(3)O_(4)@NC absorbents display the strong electromagnetic wave attenuation capability of−53.5 dB at a thickness of 3.0 mm with an effective absorption bandwidth of 5.36 GHz,both are superior to those of single magnetic domains embedded in carbon *** design concept provides us an inspiration in optimizing interfacial polarization,regulating magnetic coupling and promoting electromagnetic wave absorption.

Novel estimators of equivalent number of looks in polarimetric SAR imagery based on sub-matrices

The equivalent number of looks(ENL) is an important parameter in the multilook statistical model of polarimetric synthetic aperture radar(Pol-SAR). Recently, the maximum likelihood(ML) method was proposed and gave a good performance in the Gaussian model case by using the full covariance matrix instead of the intensity of Pol-SAR data, but it generated underestimates in the product model case. In this paper several novel ENL estimators are presented via certain cumulants of the log-determinant of the sub-matrices of the multilook polarimetric covariance matrix. The texture effect to the ENL estimates is eliminated, and the analytic estimators are derived. The estimators use the full covariance matrix and sub-matrices information, rather than the intensities of polarization channels. All the novel estimators are suitable for any texture model and thus provide more accurate results than many existing ones. Experiments using simulated data and real data are presented to evaluate the performance of different estimators. The results show that the second log-determinant moment(SLDM3)-based method is the best one among the novel estimators. At the same time this estimator has much less computational complexity. In addition, a novel distribution classification method is proposed by coloring the image via second- and third-order log-cumulants of the covariance matrix(MLC), which is helpful to assess the estimation result.

Combining the passive decoy-state idea with the active decoy-state idea, a non-orthogonal （SARG04） decoy-state protocol with one vacuum and two weak decoy states is introduced based on a heralded pair coherent state photon source for quantum key distribution. Two special cases of this protocol are deduced, i.e., a one-vacuum-and-one-weak-decoy-state protocol and a one-weak-decoy-state protocol. In these protocols, the sender prepares decoy states actively, which avoids the crude estimation of parameters in the SARG04 passive decoy-state method. With the passive decoy-state idea, the detection events on Bob＇s side that are non-triggered on Alice＇s side are not discarded, but used to estimate the fractions of single-photon and two-photon pulses, which offsets the limitation of the detector＇s low efficiency and overcomes the shortcoming that the performance of the active decoy-state protocol critically depends on the efficiency of detector. The simulation results show that the combination of the active and passive decoy-state ideas increases the key generation rate. With a one-vacuum-and-two-weak-decoy-state protocol, one can achieve a key generation rate that is close to the theoretical limit of an infinite decoy-state protocol. The performance of the other two protocols is a little less than with the former, but the implementation is easier. Under the same condition of implementation, higher key rates can be obtained with our protocols than with existing methods.

This paper studies the problem of robust H∞ control of piecewise-linear chaotic systems with random data loss. The communication links between the plant and the controller are assumed to be imperfect （that is, data loss occurs intermittently, which appears typically in a network environment）. The data loss is modelled as a random process which obeys a Bernoulli distribution. In the face of random data loss, a piecewise controller is designed to robustly stabilize the networked system in the sense of mean square and also achieve a prescribed H∞ disturbance attenuation performance based on a piecewise-quadratic Lyapunov function. The required H∞ controllers can be designed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. Chua＇s system is provided to illustrate the usefulness and applicability of the developed theoretical results.

Silver nanoparticles(Ag NPs)have attracted attention in the field of biomaterials due to their excellent antibacterial ***,the reducing and stabilizing agents used for the chemical reduction of Ag NPs are usually toxic and may cause water *** this work,Ag NPs(31.2 nm in diameter)were prepared using the extract of straw,an agricultural waste,as the reducing and stabilizing *** analysis revealed that the straw extract contained lignin,the structure of which possesses phenolic hydroxyl and methoxy groups that facilitate the reduction of silver salts into Ag *** surfaces of Ag NPs were negatively charged due to the encapsulation of a thin layer of lignin molecules that prevented their *** the prepared Ag NPs were added to the precursor solution of acrylamide,free radical polymerization was triggered without the need for extra heating or light irradiation,resulting in the rapid formation of an Ag NP-polyacrylamide composite *** inhibition zone test proved that the composite hydrogel possessed excellent antibacterial ability due to the presence of Ag *** prepared hydrogel may have potential applications in the fabrication of biomedical materials,such as antibacterial dressings.

Non-line-of-sight imaging detection is to detect hidden objects by indirect light and intermediary surface（diffuser）.It has very important significance in indirect access to an object or dangerous object detection, such as medical treatment and rescue. An approach to locating the positions of hidden objects is proposed based on time delay estimation. The time delays between the received signals and the source signal can be obtained by correlation analysis, and then the positions of hidden objects will be located. Compared with earlier systems and methods, the proposed approach has some modifications and provides significant improvements, such as quick data acquisition, simple system structure and low cost, and can locate the positions of hidden objects as well： this technology lays a good foundation for developing a practical system that can be used in real applications.

An automatic three-dimensional(3D) reconstruction method based on four-view stereo vision using checkerboard pattern is presented. Mismatches easily exist in traditional binocular stereo matching due to the repeatable or similar features of binocular images. In order to reduce the probability of mismatching and improve the measure precision, a four-camera measurement system which can add extra matching constraints and offer multiple measurements is applied in this work. Moreover, a series of different checkerboard patterns are projected onto the object to obtain dense feature points and remove mismatched points. Finally, the 3D model is generated by performing Delaunay triangulation and texture mapping on the point cloud obtained by four-view matching. This method was tested on the 3D reconstruction of a terracotta soldier sculpture and the Buddhas in the Mogao Grottoes. Their point clouds without mismatched points were obtained and less processing time was consumed in most cases relative to binocular matching. These good reconstructed models show the effectiveness of the method.

Effects of Chemical Reaction Caused by Cooling Stream on Film Cooling Effectiveness

With the increase of inlet temperature of gas turbines, the benefits by using the conventional methods are likely to approach their limits. Therefore, it is essential to study novel film cooling methods for surpassing these current limits. Based on the theory of heat transfer enhancement, a film cooling method with chemical reaction by cool- ing stream is proposed. In order to test the feasibility of the proposed method, numerical simulations have been conducted. The classic flat plate structure with a 30 degree hole is used for the simulation. In the present study, the effects of the parameters in relation to the chemical reaction on film cooling effectiveness, such as chemical heat sink, volume changes, and reaction rate, are investigated numerically. The conventional film cooling is also calculated for the comparison. The results show that film cooling effectiveness is improved obviously due to the chemical reaction, and the reaction heat and reaction rate of cooling stream have an important effect on film ef- fectiveness. However, the effect of volume changes can be ignored.
