Developing rechargeable aqueous Zn batteries for large-scale energy storage is impeded by inadequate reversibility and stability of the Zn anode,primarily caused by parasitic reactions and heterogeneous *** study proposes an economical electrolyte strategy to address these Zn-related *** addition of a supporting salt enhances the thermodynamic stability of water,reduces the number of highly reactive water molecules,and modulates the interfacial electrostatic *** approach effectively suppresses hydrogen evolution reaction and uncontrolled ***,the rationally proportioned electrolyte allows a high average Coulombic efficiency of 99.93% for 1000 cycles in a Zn‖Cu battery and a prolonged lifespan exceeding 4800 h in Zn‖Zn *** knock-on effect is that Zn‖MnO2pouch cells deliver stable cycling performance,demonstrating the viability of this approach for practical applications.

Single crystal Ni-rich cathode materials（SCNCM） are a good supplement in the market of nickel-based materials due to their safety and excellent electrochemical ***,the challenges of cation mixing,phase change during charge/discharge,and low thermal stability remain unresolved in single crystal *** address these issues,SCNCM are rationally modified by incorporating transition metal（TM） oxides,and the influence of metal ions with different valence states on the electrochemical properties of SCNCM is methodically explored through experimental results and theoretical *** structural stability is demonstrated in SCNCM after the modifications,and the degree of improvement in the matrix materials varies depending on the valence state of doped TM *** highest structural stability is found in WO3-modified SCNCM,due to the smaller effective ion radii,higher electro-negativity,stronger W-O bond,and efficient suppression of oxygen vacancy *** a result,WO3-modified SCNCM have outstanding cycle performance,with a capacity retention rate of90.2% after 200 *** study provides an insight into the design of advanced SCNCM with enhanced reversibility and cyclability.

As a new electrochemical technology,capacitive deionization(CDI)has been increasingly applied in environmental water treatment and seawater *** this study,functional groups modified porous hollow carbon(HC)were synthesized as CDI electrode material for removing Na^(+)and Cl^(−)in salty *** showed that the average diameter of HC was approximately 180 nm,and the infrared spectrum showed that its surface was successfully modified with sulfonic and amino groups,*** sulfonic acid functionalized HC(HC-S)showed better electrochemical and desalting performance than the amino-functionalized HC(HC–N),with a maximum Faradic capacity of 287.4 F/g and an adsorptive capacity of 112.97 mg/g for ***,92.63%capacity retention after 100 adsorption/desorption cycles demonstrates the excellent stability of *** main findings prove that HC-S is viable as an electrodematerial for desalination by high-performance CDI applications.

Micron-sized silicon（μSi） is a promising anode material for next-generation lithium-ion batteries due to its high specific capacity,low cost,and abundant ***,the volume expansion that occurs during cycling leads to the accumulation of undesirable stresses,resulting in pulverization of silicon microparticles and shortened lifespan of the ***,a composite film of Cu-PET-Cu is proposed as the current collector（CC） for μSi anodes to replace the conventional Cu ***-PET-Cu CC is prepared by depositing Cu on both sides of a polyethylene terephthalate（PET） *** PET layer promises good ductility of the film,permitting the Cu-PET-Cu CC to accommodate the volumetric changes of silicon microparticles and facilitates the stress release through ductile *** a result,the μSi electrode with Cu-PET-Cu CC retains a high specific capacity of 2181 mA h g-1,whereas the μSi electrode with Cu CC（μSi/Cu） exhibits a specific capacity of 1285 mA h g-1after 80 *** stress relieving effect of CuPET-Cu was demonstrated by in-situ fiber optic stress monitoring and multi-physics *** work proposes an effective stress relief strategy at the electrode level for the practical implementation of μSi anodes.

Mn-based layered oxides（KMO） have emerged as one of the promising low-cost cathodes for potassiumion batteries（PIBs）.However,due to the multiple-phase transitions and the distortion in the MnO6structure induced by the Jahn-Teller（JT） effect associated with Mn-ion,the cathode exhibits poor structural ***,we propose a strategy to enhance structural stability by introducing robust metal-oxygen（M-O） bonds,which can realize the pinning effect to constrain the distortion in the transition metal（TM） ***,all the elements employed have exceptionally high crustal *** a proof of concept,the designed K0.5Mn0.9Mg0.025Ti0.025Al0.05O2cathode exhibited a discharge capacity of approximately 100 mA h g-1at 20 mA g-1with 79% capacity retention over 50 cycles,and 73% capacity retention over 200 cycles at 200 mA g-1,showcased much better battery performance than the designed cathode with less robust M-O *** properties of the formed M-O bonds were investigated using theoretical *** enhanced dynamics,mitigated JT effect,and improved structural stability were elucidated through the in-situ X-ray diffractometer（XRD）,in-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy（EIS）(and distribution of relaxation times（DRT） method),and ex-situ X-ray absorption fine structure（XAFS） *** study holds substantial reference value for the future design of costeffective Mn-based layered cathodes for PIBs.

Superhydrophobic coatings have tremendous potential for cotton fabric applications in antifouling and *** great scientific and industrial interest in waterproof cellulosic cotton,its application in cotton fibres has been hindered by complicated processes,templates requirement,and limitations in scale-up ***,we prepared a hydrophobic coating using one-step hydrolysis of *** the reaction of long-chain organosilanes with acid,micro/nanostructures with low surface energy were constructed on the cotton fabric ***,the coating not only imparts self-cleaning and anti-bacterial adhesion properties to cotton fabrics,but also maintains a contact angle of over 140°after treatment with acid,alkali,organic solvents and extreme *** addition,the coating can be applied to a wide range of metals,plastics and paper to provide antifouling *** study believes that these excellent overall properties possess enormous potential for various applications involving anti-fouling.

Integrating multi-scale sites in a composite catalyst is vital to realize efficient ***,a synergistic composite catalyst consisting of Co atomic sites and in-situ generated PtCo intermetallic compounds (IMCs)(o-PtCo@CoNC) is proposed through Co pre-anchoring and subsequent impregnation-reduction *** loading of Co atoms provides a chance for in-situ generating PtCo ordered intermetallic *** remaining Co single atoms and PtCo IMCs construct synergistic electrocatalytic *** from the ordered structure,synergistic effect of Pt Co IMCs and Co single atoms,o-PtCo@CoNC exhibits excellent electrocatalytic performance for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) with mass activity of 1.21 A mgPt-1(at 0.9 V) and5.70 A mgPt-1(at an overpotential of 100 mV),***,o-PtCo@CoNC delivers negligible loss of half-wave potential and overpotential during long-term stability test in acid solutions,with 13 mV decay after 50,000 potential cycles for ORR and a 2.7 mV decay after 20,000 potential cycles for *** integration strategy of single-atomic sites coupled IMCs paves the way for enhancing the activity and durability of Pt-based electrocatalysts.

Optimizing the ORR performance of PtMnM ternary intermetallics by tuning the surface strain

Identifying the descriptors that control catalytic performance is key to design catalysts with high activity and *** indirect descriptors related to catalytic activity,modulating the Pt–Pt interatomic distance and d-band center can effectively enhance the ORR *** is well recognized that the Pt–Pt interatomic distance is strongly correlated with the surface ***,PtMnM/C ternary intermetallics are constructed through partially replacing Mn in PtMn/C binary intermetallics with the other transition metal(M=Fe,Co,Ni,and Cu).The 3d-transition metal doping induces surface strain,and the ORR performance of PtMnM/C exhibits volcano relationship relative to both the Pt–Pt interatomic distance and d-band *** PtMnCo/C with optimum strain exhibits the highest mass activity(1.06 A mgPt^(−1))at 0.9 V,which is 2.6 and 4.6 times higher than that of PtMn/C and commercial Pt/C catalysts,*** addition,PtMnCo/C shows good durability with only 10 mV half-wave potential decay after 50,000 potential cycles.

Poly（ethylene oxide）-based polymer all-solid-state lithium metal batteries（ASSLBs） have received widespread attention due to their low cost,good process ability,and high energy ***,the growth of Li dendrites within polymer solid-state electrolytes damages the reversibility of Li anodes and still impedes their widespread *** efficient strategy is to construct a superior solid electrolyte ***,a stable interface enriched with Li3N and LiF is in-situ formed between Li anode and a terna ry salt *** terna ry salt electrolyte is innovatively designed by introducing lithium bis（trifluoromethane sulfonyl）imide（LiTFSI）,lithium bis（fluorosulfonyl）imide（LiFSI）,and LiNO3to poly（ethylene oxide） *** characterization indicates that LiNO3and LiFSI contribute to forming a Li3N-LiF-enriched interface and meanwhile LiTFSI ensures excellent ***,among various Li compound components,Li3N has high ionic conductivity,which is beneficial for reducing overpotential,while LiF has high interfacial energy which can enhance nucleation energy and suppress the formation of Li *** experimental results show that ASSLBs coupled with LiFePO4cathode display extremely excellent cycle stability approximately 2200 cycles at 2 C,with a final and corresponding discharge specific capacity of 96.7 mA h g-1. Additionally,a schematic illustration of the working mechanism for the Li3N-LiF interface is proposed.

In the context of peaking carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality,development of feasible methods for converting CO_(2)into high value-added chemicals stands out as a hot *** this study,P[D+COO^(−)][Br^(−)][DBUH^(+)],a series of novel heterogeneous dual-ionic poly(ionic liquid)s(PILs)were synthesized readily from 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate(DMAEMA),bromo-substituted aliphatic acids,organic bases and divinylbenzene(DVB).The structures,compositions and morphologies were characterized or determined by nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA),infrared spectroscopy(IR),scanning electron microscopes(SEM),and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis(BET),*** of the P[D+COO^(−)][Br^(−)][DBUH^(+)]series as catalysts in converting CO_(2)into cyclic carbonates showed that P[D+COO^(−)][Br^(−)][DBUH^(+)]-2/1/0.6was able to catalyze epiclorohydrin-CO_(2)cycloaddition the most *** afforded chloropropylene carbonate(CPC)in 98.4%yield with≥99%selectivity in 24 hr under solvent-and additive-free conditions at atmospheric *** experiments showed that recycling of the catalyst 6 times only resulted in a slight decline in the catalytic *** addition,it could be used for the synthesis of a variety of differently substituted cyclic carbonates in good to excellent ***,key catalytic active sites were probed,and a reasonable mechanism was proposed *** summary,this work poses an efficient strategy for heterogenization of dual-ionic PILs and provides amild and environmentally benign approach to the fixation and utilization of carbon dioxide.
