Isotopic dependence of the yield ratios of light fragments from different projectiles and their unified neutron skin thicknesses

The yield ratios of neutron-proton(R(n/p))and^(3)H-^(3)He(R(^(3)H∕^(3)He))with reduced rapidity from 0 to 0.5 were simulated at 50 MeV/u even-even ^(36−56)Ca+^(40)Ca,even-even ^(48−78)Ni+^(58)Ni,and ^(100−139)Sn(every third isotopes)+112 Sn for full reduced impact parameters using the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics(IQMD)*** neutron and proton density distributions and root-mean-square radii of the reaction systems were obtained using the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model,which was used for the phase space initialization of the projectile and target in *** defined the unified neutron skin thickness asΔRnp=^(1∕2) n−^(1∕2)p,which was negative for neutron-deficient *** unifiedΔRnp values for nuclei with the same relative neutron excess from different isotopic chains were nearly equal,except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,which is a type of scaling *** yield ratios of the three isotopic chain-induced reactions,which depended on the reduced impact parameter and unified neutron skin thickness,were *** results showed that both R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)decreased with a reduced impact parameter for extreme neutron-deficient isotopes;however,they increased with reduced impact parameters for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,and increased with theΔRnp of the projectiles for all reduced impact *** addition,a scaling phenomenon was observed betweenΔR np and the yield ratios in peripheral colli-sions from different isotopic chain projectiles(except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes).Thus,R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)from peripheral collisions were suggested as experimental probes for extracting the neutron or proton skin thicknesses of non-extreme neutron-rich nuclei from different isotopic chains.

Numerical Investigation on Characteristics of Supercritical CO_(2)Heat Transfer in Vertical Circular Tubes with Circumferentially Half-Side Heating

The design of heat exchangers in the advanced supercritical power conversion system cannot be separated from the study of heat transfer ***-side heating mode is often encountered for solar receiver and supercritical ***,the characteristics of supercritical CO_(2)(sCO_(2))convection heat transfer in vertical tubes with circumferentially half-side heating was numerically investigated through the SST k-ωturbulent model which matches well with the experimental ***,heat transfer between sCO_(2)upflow and downflow was *** to film boiling heat transfer at subcritical pressure,numerical results were processed according to the supercritical pseudo-phase transition hypothesis,with liquid-like phase in the tube core region and vapor-like film in the region near the heated tube *** structure of two layers was demarcated by pseudo-critical temperature T_(pc).Therefore,sCO_(2)heat transfer was assessed according to double thermal resistances caused by vapor-like film near the wall and core liquid-like *** findings suggest that wall temperature for upflow is higher than that for downflow,which is attributed to larger thermal resistance in the fluid domain for upflow than that for *** difference guarantees the excellent heat transfer performance for downflow than *** is also further concluded that the formation of vapor-like film near the wall due to pseudo-phase transition plays a key role in dominating wall temperature and inducing heat transfer deterioration in half-side heating *** present contribution is significant to the design of supercritical heat exchanger under half-side heating mode.

Microstructure Characteristics and Possible Phase Evolution of the Coal Gangue-Steel Slag Ceramics Prepared by the Solid-State Reaction Methods

Industrial wastes such as steel slag and coal gangue *** chosen as raw materials for preparing ceramic via the conventional solid-state reaction *** steel slag and coal gangue mixed in various mass ratios,from 100%steel slag to 100%coal gangue at 10%intervals,microstructure and possible phase evolution of the coal gangue-steel slag ceramics were investigated using X-ray powder diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,mercury intrusion porosimetry and Archimedes boiling *** experimental results suggest that the phase compositions of the as-prepared ceramics could be altered with the increased amount of coal gangue in the *** anorthite-diopside eutectic can be formed in the ceramics with the mass ratios of steel slag to coal gangue arranged from 8:2 to 2:8,which was responsible for the melting of the steel slag-coal gangue ceramics at relatively high *** investigations on the microstructure suggested that the addition of the proper amount of steel slag in ceramic compositions was conducive to the pore formation and further contributed to an increment in porosity.

Investigations of Water Flow Behaviors Induced by Local Temperature Variations through a Single Rough Fracture for the Enhanced Geothermal Systems

In recent years,Enhanced Geothermal System(EGS)technologies have been applied to the geothermal resources production in the Hot Dry Rock(HDR).The core of EGS technologies is to adopt hydraulic fracturing in the reservoir to create a connected network of discrete fractures with the consideration of water as a working fluid for hydraulic fracturing and heat *** paper investigates the characteristics of water flow behaviors through a single rough fracture under different temperature and pressure conditions.A single fracture model with rough fracture surfaces is constructed and then characterized,and influences of the anisotropic factor on the average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient of water flow through a single fracture with rough surfaces have been compared and *** consideration of other impacting factors(temperature,pressure,fracture roughness),the impact of mass flow rate has also been *** simulation results present that changes of average tortuosity for water flow through a single rough facture are mainly affected by *** can be observed that higher temperature leads to larger average tortuosity but the frictional resistance coefficient shows an opposite *** for pressure conditions,it is found that effects of pressure on average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient is very small,which can be neglected under high pressure ***,the average tortuosity shows a progressively linear relationship with the mass flow *** the contrary,the frictional resistance coefficient has a negative relationship with the mass flow *** is revealed that when the mass flow rate reaches a critical point,the influences of temperature on the frictional resistance coefficient will be *** of single rough fractures with different anisotropic factors show that values of average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient have positive relationships with the increase

Thermodynamic and Economic Analysis of a Conceptual System Combining Sludge Gasification,SOFC,Supercritical CO_(2)Cycle,and Organic Rankine Cycle

In order to reduce the environmental impact of conventional sludge treatment methods and to utilize the energy in sludge more effectively,a coupled system based on sewage sludge gasifier(SSG),solid oxide fuel cells(SOFC),supercritical CO_(2)cycle(S-CO_(2)),and organic Rankine cycle(ORC)is *** clean syngas obtained from sludge gasification is mixed with CH4 and then first utilized by the fuel *** exhaust gas from the fuel cell is fully combusted in the afterburning chamber and then enters the bottom cycle system consisting of S-CO_(2)&ORC to generate *** understand the performance of the system,thermodynamic and economic analyses were conducted to examine the project's *** thermodynamics as well as the economics of the coupled system were analyzed to arrive at the following conclusions,the power production of the system is 37.34 MW;the exergy efficiency is 55.62%,and the net electrical efficiency is 61.48%.The main exergy destruction is the gasifier and SOFC,accounting for 62.45%of the total exergy *** takes only6.13 years to repay the construction investment in the novel system,and the project obtains a NPV of 17723820USD during 20 years *** above findings indicate that the new coupled system has a better performance in terms of energy utilization and economy.

Investigation of non-uniform leading-edge tubercles in compressor cascade:Based on multi-objective optimization and data mining

Corner stall receives noticeable attention in the aeroengine field as an important phenomenon in highly-load ***-uniform leading-edge tubercles,as an effective method to delay stall,are introduced into the *** this paper,the shape of leading-edge tubercles was controlled by a third-order Fourier *** judge corner stall,a more precise stall indicator for compressor cascade with flow control methods was ***,the total kinetic energy of the secondary flow at large incidence was adopted as a parameter for stall evaluation to save computing *** results of multiobjective optimization reveal that the loss coefficient exhibited negligible variation at design incidence,while the total kinetic energy of secondary flow showed a significant reduction at large incidence,resulting in a substantial increase in stall *** the optimal profiling cases,the stall incidencewas delayed from 7.9°to 11.6°.The major purpose of the research is to provide proper design guidelines for nonuniformleading-edge tubercles and uncover the flow controlmechanisms of leading-edge ***,the geometric features that meet different optimization objectives were extracted through geometric analysis near the Pareto Front and through Self-OrganizingMap(SOM)dataminingmethods in the optimization ***,flow field analysis reveals the flow control mechanism of leading-edge *** convex-concave-convex structure at the 0%-70%blade height region can form two branches of leading-edge vortex pairs that are opposite in the rotation direction to the passage *** two branches of leading-edge vortex pairs mixed with the leading-edge separation vortex to form two stronger mixed vortices,which can effectively suppress the development of passage vortex and delay stall incidence.

Experimental study on combustion characteristics of supersonic combustor based on alternating-wedge strut

Acetone Planar Lase-Induced Fluorescence(PLIF)and OH-PLIF were employed to capture the fuel distribution and OH distribution downstream for the supersonic combustor based on the alternating-wedge *** combustion establishment process and combustion mode in the combustor under different fuel injection methods and different equivalence ratios were *** with the kerosene-PLIF and OH-PLIF results in the cavity combustor,a comparative analysis was conducted to understand the combustion characteristics and combustion modes between the alternating-wedge strut-based combustor and the cavity-based *** results show that the combustor is in weak combustion mode in the case of low equivalence ratio,and the combustor is in intensive combustion mode in the case of high equivalence *** lower limit of the equivalence ratio of the combustor to maintain the intensive combustion mode varies based on different fuel injection *** OH distribution under reacting condition has a strong correlation with the fuel distribution under non-reacting *** OH fluorescence signal near the injector is weaker when the fuel distribution is more *** injector position located at the base of the strut rear has better mixing performance,enabling the combustor to be in intensive combustion mode at a lower equivalence *** combustion reaction in the alternating-wedge strut-based combustor is not necessarily dominated by mass transfer due to the mixing enhancement and premixed zone downstream of strut,while the combustion reaction process in the cavity-based combustor is mainly influenced by mass transfer.

Study on the influence of pneumatic probe on the wake flow field of transonic turbine cascade

The pneumatic probe is widely used for contact measurements in turbomachinery flow field ***,it inevitably interferes with the original flow field,leading to additional errors,particularly in wake flow fields or transonic regions with significant pressure *** study employed Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes delete and high-fidelity numerical simulation to investigate the impact of an inserted pneumatic probe on the wake flow field of a transonic turbine blade and compared it to the baseline flow *** indicate that the probe causes the shock waves premature occurrence in the high subsonic wake region near the turbine blade trailing *** shock waves affect vortex shedding by thickening the boundary layer near the trailing edge and changing the shedding pattern from high-frequency-low-energy to *** addition,the extra flow loss is incurred,and the blade's heat transfer characteristic is *** research provides a reference for testing experiments in complex transonic flow fields,guiding experimental researchers to minimize instrument interference with the original flow field.

Comparison of Rotating Stall Warning by Different Methods for Variable Speed Configurations in a Contra-Rotating Compressor

Stall in compressors can cause performance degradation and even lead to *** unacceptable consequences can be avoided by timely monitoring stall inception and taking effective *** paper focused on the rotating stall warning in a low-speed axial contra-rotating ***,the stall disturbance characteristics under different speed configurations were *** results showed that as the speed ratio(RR)increased,the stall disturbance propagation speed based on the rear rotor speed gradually ***,the standard deviation(SD)method,the cross-correlation(CC)method,and the discrete wavelet transform(DWT)method were employed to obtain the stall initiation moments of three different speed *** was found that the SD and CC methods did not achieve significant stall warning results in all three speed ***,the stall initiation moment obtained by the DWT method at RR=1.125 was one period after the stall had fully developed,which was ***,a stall warning method was developed in the present work based on the long short-term memory(LSTM)regression *** applying the LSTM model,the predicted stall initiation moments of three speed configurations were at the 557th,518th,and 333rd revolution,which were44,2,and 74 revolutions ahead of stall onset moments,***,in scenarios where a minor disturbance preceded the stall,the stall warning effect of the LSTM was greatly improved in comparison with the aforementioned three *** contrast,when the pressure fluctuation before the stall was relatively small,the differences between the stall initiation moments predicted by these four methods were not significant.

Novel data-driven sparse polynomial chaos and analysis of covariance for aerodynamics of compressor cascades with dependent geometric uncertainties

Polynomial Chaos Expansion(PCE)has gained significant popularity among engineers across various engineering disciplines for uncertainty ***,traditional PCE suffers from two major ***,the orthogonality of polynomial basis functions holds only for independent input variables,limiting the model’s ability to propagate uncertainty in dependent ***,PCE encounters the"curse of dimensionality"due to the high computational cost of training the model with numerous polynomial *** practical manufacturing,compressor blades are subject to machining precision limitations,leading to deviations from their ideal geometric *** deviations require a large number of geometric parameters to describe,and exhibit significant *** efficiently quantify the impact of high-dimensional dependent geometric deviations on the aerodynamic performance of compressor blades,this paper firstly introduces a novel approach called Data-driven Sparse PCE(DSPCE).The proposed method addresses the aforementioned challenges by employing a decorrelation algorithm to directly create multivariate basis functions,accommodating both independent and dependent random ***,the method utilizes an iterative Diffeomorphic Modulation under Observable Response Preserving Homotopy regression algorithm to solve the unknown coefficients,achieving model sparsity while maintaining fitting ***,the study investigates the simultaneous effects of seven dependent geometric deviations on the aerodynamics of a high subsonic compressor cascade by using the DSPCE method proposed and sensitivity analysis of *** joint distribution of the dependent geometric deviations is determined using Quantile-Quantile plots and normal copula functions based on finite measurement *** results demonstrate that the correlations between geometric deviations significantly impact the variance of aerodynamic performance and the flow ***,
