A gas puff imaging(GPI)diagnostic has been developed and operated on EAsT since 2012,and the time-delay estimation(TDE)method is used to derive the propagation velocity of fluctuations from the two-dimensional GPI ***,with the TDE method it is difficult to analyze the data with fast transient events,such as edge-localized mode(ELM).Consequently,a method called the s.a.ial displacement estimation(sDE)algorithm is developed to estimate the turbulence velocity with high temporal *** on the sDE algorithm,we make some improvements,including an adaptive median filter and super-resolution *** the development of the algorithm,a straight-line movement and a curved-line movement are used to test the accuracy of the algorithm,and the calculated speed agrees well with preset *** sDE algorithm is.a.plied to the EAsT GPI data analysis.a.d the derived propagation velocity of turbulence is consistent with that from the TDE method,but with much higher temporal resolution.

A magnetic field produced by a current flowing through the plas.a.grid(PG) is one of the solutions to reduce the collisional loss of negative ions in a negative ion source, which reduces the electron temperature in front of the PG. However, the magnetic field diffused into the driver has some influence on the plas.a.outflowing. In order to investigate the effect of changing this magnetic field on the outflowing of plas.a.from the driver, a circular ring(absorber) of high permeability iron has been introduced at the driver exit, which can reduce the magnetic field around it and improve plas.a.outflowing. With the application of the absorber, the electron density is increased by about 35%, and the extraction current measured from the extraction grid is increased from 1.02 A to 1.29 A. The results of the extraction experiment with cesium injection show that both the extraction grid(EG) current and H-current are increased when the absorber is introduced.

Measurement of plas.a.electron density by far-infrared laser polarimetry has become a routine and indispensable tool in magnetic confinement fusion *** article presents the design of a Cotton-Mouton polarimeter interferometer,which provides.a.reliable density measurement without fringe ***-Mouton effect on Experimental Advanced superconducting Tokamak(EAsT)is studied by stokes equation with three parameters(s_(1),s_(2),s_(3)).It demonstrates that under the condition of a s.a.l Cotton-Mouton effect,parameter s_(2)contains information about Cotton-Mouton effect which is proportional to the line-integrated *** a typical EAsT plas.a.the magnitude of Cotton-Mouton effects is less than 2πfor laser wavelength of 432μ*** effect due to density gradient is calculated to be *** modulation of stokes parameters(s_(2),s_(3))provides heterodyne *** to the ins.a.ilities.a.ising from laser oscillation and beam refraction in plas.a.,it is neces.a.y for the system to be insensitive to variations in the amplitude of the detection ***,it is shown that non-equal amplitude of X-mode and O-mode within a certain range only affects the DC offset of stokes parameters(s_(2),s_(3))but does not greatly influence the phase measurements of Cotton-Mouton effects.

A dispersion interferometer(DI)has been ins.a.led and operates on the Experimental Advanced superconducting Tokamak(EAsT).This DI system utilizes.a.continuous-wave 9.3μm CO_(2)laser source to measure line-averaged electron densities *** contrast to conventional interferometers,the DI does not require subs.a.tial vibration isolations or compensating systems to reduce the impact of vibrations in the optical *** also employs.a.ratio of modulation amplitudes,ensuring it remains immune to the variations in detected *** a variation compensation system,the DI system on EAsT reaches.a.density resolution of less than1.8×10^(-2)πrad and a temporal resolution of 20μ*** measurements made by the POlarimeterINTerferometer(POINT)system and the far-infrared hydrogen cyanide(HCN)interferometer are remarkably consistent with the DI’s *** possibility of fringe jumps.a.d the impact of refraction in high-density discharge can be significantly decreased using a shorter wavelength laser source.A rapid density change of 3×10^(19)m^(-3)during 0.15 s has been measured accurately in shot No.114755 of ***,the DI system demonstrates dependability and s.a.ility under 305 s long-pulse discharges in shot No.122054.
