Fast Degradation of Green Pollutants Through Nanonets and Nanofibers of the Al-Doped Zinc Oxide

In this study, series of nanolayered structures of Zn–Al LDHs were prepared by urea hydrolysis. Nanofibers and nanonets of the Al-doped ZnO were formed via the decomposition of the nanolayers under high pressure and temperature. Nanospheres were also prepared for comparison. The different morphologies of the prepared nanomaterials were confirmed by several techniques. An improvement for the optical properties of the doped zinc oxides was observed through narrowing of their band gap energies because of transforming the nanolayers to nanonets and nanofibers. The photocatalytic activities of the prepared nanomaterials were studied through photocatalytic degradation of the pollutants of acid green dyes. Complete decolorization and mineralization of green dyes happened in the presence of the nanolayers and nanospheres within 4–6 h,while the nanonets and the nanofibers achieved the complete decolorization and degradation of the dyes at shorter time 1.3 h. These results could be explained though the kinetic study of the photocatalytic degradation of dyes. It was concluded that the nanonets and the nanofibers were very effective for the photocatalytic degradation of pollutants.

Organic microporous materials based on spiroketal and spirothioketal polymers were synthesized through 1,3- dioxol-forming polymerization reaction between pentaerythritol or pentaerythritol tetrathiol and different types of cyclohexa- 1,4-dione derivatives. The structure of the prepared polymers was confirmed by NMR spectroscopy and molecular mass measurements. Nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms of the prepared polymers show a large amount of nitrogen adsorbed at low relative pressure indicating microporosity. These polymers have Brunauer Emmitt and Teller （BET） surface areas in the range from 492 （m^2g^-1） to 685 （m^2 g^-1）. The prepared polymers were found to be useful for pervaporation separation of methanol-toluene mixture with a separation factor up to 12.5 and fluxes, varying between 6.7×10-3 kg/（m^2 h） and 13.4 × 10^-3 kg/（m^2 h）.

Background:Diabetes health education is an integral component of diabetes *** aim of education is not only to provide knowledge and skills,but also to change patients’attitude and increase motivation towards therapeutic recommendation *** main objective of the study is to compare the impact of diabetes health education for patients with type 2 diabetes in terms of knowledge,health outcomes and effect on glycemic control(glycated hemoglobin,haemoglobin A1c).Methods:A cohort of 110 patients with newly diagnosed diabetes were included in this prospective *** characteristics were retrieved from the medical record of the Al-Jouf Diabetes Center,saudi ***,diabetic health education program effectiveness and haemoglobin A1c were measured after 3 months health ***:Results showed a significant reduction in mean haemoglobin A1c after education,which was down by 1.47(t=6.07,Peducation was 9.19±1.70%and after education,it was 7.72±0.80%.The difference is more significant in young saudi males,those who were married and were more ***,there was no significant with respect to any socio-demographic ***:The findings demonstrate that diabetic education was effective in controlling diabetes and the beneficial effect of this intervention did not differ with respect to socio-economic conditions and demographic ***,early diabetic education can lead to decrease in diabetic related complications.

Machine learning(ML)is increasingly applied for medical image processing with appropriate learning *** applications include analyzing images of various organs,such as the brain,lung,eye,etc.,to identify specific flaws/diseases for *** primary concern of ML applications is the precise selection of flexible image features for pattern detection and region *** of the extracted image features are irrelevant and lead to an increase in computation ***,this article uses an analytical learning paradigm to design a Congruent Feature Selection Method to select the most relevant image *** process trains the learning paradigm using similarity and correlation-based features over different textural intensities and pixel *** similarity between the pixels over the various distribution patterns with high indexes is recommended for disease ***,the correlation based on intensity and distribution is analyzed to improve the feature selection ***,the more congruent pixels are sorted in the descending order of the selection,which identifies better regions than the ***,the learning paradigm is trained using intensity and region-based similarity to maximize the chances of ***,the probability of feature selection,regardless of the textures and medical image patterns,is *** process enhances the performance of ML applications for different medical image *** proposed method improves the accuracy,precision,and training rate by 13.19%,10.69%,and 11.06%,respectively,compared to other models for the selected *** mean error and selection time is also reduced by 12.56%and 13.56%,respectively,compared to the same models and dataset.

Braille-assistive technologies have helped blind people to write,read,learn,and communicate with sighted individuals for many *** technologies enable blind people to engage with society and help break down communication barriers in their *** Optical Braille Recognition(OBR)system is one example of these *** plays an important role in facilitating communication between sighted and blind people and assists sighted individuals in the reading and understanding of the documents of Braille ***,a clear gap exists in current OBR systems regarding asymmetric multilingual conversion of Braille *** systems allow sighted people to read and understand Braille documents for self-learning *** this study,we propose a deep learning-based approach to convert Braille images into multilingual *** is achieved through a set of effective steps that start with image acquisition and preprocessing and end with a Braille multilingual mapping *** develop a deep convolutional neural network(DCNN)model that takes its inputs from the second step of the approach for recognizing Braille *** experiments are conducted on two datasets of Braille images to evaluate the performance of the DCNN *** rst dataset contains 1,404 labeled images of 27 Braille symbols representing the alphabet *** second dataset consists of 5,420 labeled images of 37 Braille symbols that represent alphabet characters,numbers,and *** proposed model achieved a classication accuracy of 99.28%on the test set of the rst dataset and 98.99%on the test set of the second *** results conrm the applicability of the DCNN model used in our proposed approach for multilingual Braille conversion in communicating with sighted people.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence of different intestinal parasitic infections among male primary schoolchildren in Al-Ahsa,saudi Arabia,and to explore the possible relative socioeconomic, environmental and behavioural sanitary ***:A cross-sectional descriptive study was performed.A total of 1 289 male students aged from 7 to 12 years were selected randomly from 20 urban and 12 rural primary schools by multistage sampling method. Data collection was carried out by self administered questionnaire form to the parents/guardians of students and included inquires about socio-demographics,environmental conditions,and behavioural sanitary *** analysis was carried out to examine the presence of intestinal parasitic ***:Overall prevalence of parasitic infections was 27.2%,more among rural *** encountered infections included Entamoeba histolytica/dispar(8.2%), Giardia lamblia(6.5%),Entamoeba coli(4.0%) and Enterobius vermicularis(1.6%).Logistic regression revealed that lower maternal educational level and occupational status,low family income,big family size,poor personal hygienic practices and positive history of previous intestinal infections among family members increased the likelihood of ***: Although of low magnitude,intestinal parasitic infections still represent a public health concern among male schoolchildren in Al-Ahsa ***-demographic and poor personal hygienic habits are the main predictors for these infections.

AIM： To determine the seroprevalence of Hepatitis A （HAV） amongst saudi children and compare it with previously reported prevalence data from the same population. METHODS： A total of 1357 students were randomly selected between the ages of 16 and 18 years （689 males and 668 females） from three different regions of saudi Arabia （Madinah, AI-Qaseem, and Aseer） and tested for ***： The overall prevalence of anti-HAV-IgG among the study population was 18.6%. There was no difference between males and females but there was a significant difference in the seroprevalence （P = 0.0001） between the three different regions, with Madinah region showing the highest prevalence （27.4%）. When classified according to socioeconomic status, lower class students had a prevalence of 36.6%, lower middle class 16.6%, upper middle class 9.6%, and upper class 5.9% （P = 0.0001）. Comparing the current study results with those of previous studies in 1989 and 1997 involving the same population, there was a marked reduction in the overall prevalence of HAV from 52% in 1989, to 25% in 1997, to 18.6% in 2008 （P 〈 0.0001）.CONCLUSION： Over the last 18 years, there has been a marked decline in the prevalence of HAV in saudi children and adolescents. The current low prevalence rates call for strict adherence to vaccination policies in high-risk patients and raises the question of a universal HAV vaccination program.

Background:In regulating cupping therapy in saudi Arabia,there was a need to develop a system for continuous medical and professional development for cupping *** current study aimed to evaluate the effect of blended-internet continuing-medical-education(CME)on knowledge,knowledge retention,and intellectual skills in cupping providers compared with conventional,face-to-face ***:Participants were recruited from a list of registered cupping providers(physicians,nurses,and physiotherapists trained and licensed to practice cupping therapy)for a randomized,open,controlled *** providing informed consent,participants were allocated into three groups(classes).Classes were randomized to(1)blended-internet CME(n=31);(2)conventional,face-to-face CME(n=31);and(3)control group receiving no intervention(n=32).Results:Posttest knowledge scores were increased to a greater extent by blended-internet CME training compared to conventional CME(P=0.002)or no training(P<0.001).Similarly,knowledge retention was significantly higher in the blended-internet CME group compared to the conventional CME group(P=0.011).Posttest skills scores immediately after the course were significantly higher in the blended-internet CME group compared to the conventional CME group(mean difference:1.408,95%confidence interval:0.728–2.088,P<0.001).Conclusion:Although the current study aimed to determine if blended-internet CME is as effective as conventional,face-to-face CME,the results showed that cupping providers who participated in blended-internet CME had significantly higher scores for posttest knowledge,knowledge retention,and posttest intellectual skills.
