Graphical representation of groundwater major dissolved constituents greatly help researchers in understanding the hydro-chemical evolution, grouping and areal distribution. Durov diagram is one of the most widely used technique but it requires a lot of tedious calculations. The DurovPlot program, which is used to plot the expanded Durov diagram as a graphical representation of groundwater major dissolved constituents is working on Disk Operating System （DOS） environment. Therefore, the need of a new program working under windows is a must. The program termed as DurovPwinis developed using Microsoft visual studio 2010. The DurovPwin program not only calculates the Durov coordinates and plot it, but also plots the total dissolved solids （TDS） on logarithmic scale and the measure of the activity of hydrogen ion （pH） of the given samples. The updated DurovPwin adds many features such as interface with Microsoft Office package （Word and Excel） to read the input chemical elements and automatically write result interpretation report. The user facility to group wells based on data features is added and the selection of the electric balance tolerance （10% as default） value is given. Another feature of the modified DurovPwinis has the ability to do useful X-Y plot for different hydro-chemical parameters to assist in data interpretation. The sodium adsorption ratio （SAR） is also calculated and written in the final report. Also, in the present study, the usability of the new version of DurovPwin program has been tested on the chemical data from 59 groundwater samples collected from A1-Jawf area, saudi Arabia. The collected water samples were mainly from the Secondary-Tertiary-Quaternary （STQ） aquifer and some from Tawil and Jaufaquifers. The grouping of the major ions in the three aquifers have been displayed and presented using the DurovPwin program. The Jabal Hadb Ad Dayheen granitic complex in central saudi Arabia is an alkaline granitic ring complex associated with a collapsed caldera. It mainly consists of monzogranite in the center, biotite-hornblende porphyritic granite, and biotite-aegirine-riebeckite granite, intruded by some felsic and mafic dikes. The petrological and geochemical characteristics show that the granitic suites consist of metalminous-peralkaline A-type granites. The secondary ion mass spectrometry(SIMS) zircon U-Pb analysis yielded ^(206)Pb/^(238)U ages of 613.3 ± 8.1 – 603.8 ± 3.8, 602.4 ± 3.8, 596 ± 5.6 Ma for biotitehornblende porphyritic granite, microgranite, and biotite-aegirine-riebeckite granite, respectively. The trace element characteristics and positive ε_(Hf)(t) values(3.2–12.2) indicate that the granitic rocks of the Dayheen Ring Complex are mainly derived from the juvenile crust with the involvement of mantlederived materials. Combined with the regional tectonic evolution, the formation of the Dayheen Ring Complex mainly covered four periods:(1) subduction initiation and formation of arc terranes(870–620 Ma)—volcanic craters formed during this period provided the channel for alkaline complex intrusion;(2) collision between East and West Gondwana continents and formation of the north East African Orogen(640–613 Ma)—monzogranite stock at the center of the ring complex emplaced during this period;(3) post-collision extension and collapse(613–602 Ma)—red metaluminous biotite-hornblende porphyritic granite and microgranite sheets in the rim of the Dayheen Ring Complex emplaced during this period;(4) within-plate extension(602 – 545 Ma) —white peralkaline biotite-aegirine-riebeckite granite and plenty of felsic and mafic dikes in the rim mainly formed during this period. The objective of this work is to show the contribution of multispectral remote sensing data to detect and distinguish the ophiolite rocks of Bi’r Umq and their geologic setting, southeast of Al Madinah Al Munawarrah in saudi Arabia. This work includes detailed fieldwork lab studies, as well as processing operations, were performed on The Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER 2006, 2007) and Satellite Pour L’Observation de la Terre SPOT 5 (2005) images of the study region. Among the processing techniques applied are band ratio, histogram stretching, the combination of spectral bands, image fusion. The techniques used permitted a clearly show that the ultramafic rocks are distinct from other rock units and contain important economic minerals. This research also illustrates the tectonic parameters and that the remains of the oceanic crust are exposed and juxtaposed to the rocks of the continental crust of the Arabian Shield. The results of the spatial data processing revealed a good positive concordance with the results of the field investigations.

The negative effects of natural disasters on human life exist from the foot and did not occur at a specific time but found since the creation of mankind. Humans coexist with extreme events all the time, only when the intensity of the event becomes greater than a certain level there is a resulting disaster. Small earthquakes occur all of the time with no adverse effects. Only large earthquakes cause disasters. Statistical analysis reveals that larger events occur less frequently than small events. Through the large number of seismic events, we find that at the end of the year may have a series of seismic events with different values depending on the strength of activity whether it is high or low on Richter scale and the assessment is only for the greatest value in a year even if recurring this value and the volume of dangerous increases and the frequency of their occurrence according to an ongoing activity, major disasters result from a small number of events and sustained results in a large and devastating event, and can be represented by these results and amounts On a log-scale which points are almost on a straight line and a clear indication of the evaluation event. Through previous data analysis we can understand the following events behavior for coordination and guidance on the development of evacuation plans on the expected future and use a Weibull equation to estimate the frequency of the event and the return again as a percentage for each event and the probability of the occurrence of a particular earthquake to some degree on the Richter scale in the sea during any period. Past records of earthquakes at the West Coast of the Kingdom of saudi Arabia (Red Sea) for years 1913-2016 are used to predict future conditions concerning the annual frequency, the return period, the percentage probability for each event, and the probability of a certain-magnitude earthquake occurring in the region during any period.

AIM To study the uptake, barriers and motivators of influen-za, pneumococcal, meningococcal and pertussis vaccines among members of public in Arabian Gulf *** A cross-sectional survey among the Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC) countries' residents. Data collected electronically through a smartphone app. The survey variables aimed to investigate the respondents' awareness about vaccines against influenza, pneumococcal, meningococcal and pertussis infections. Collected data concerning the respondents' socio-demographic characteristics, their perception toward vaccine uptake and the factors that motivate or demotivate them from taking influenza vaccine. The data were analysed statistically using the SPSS v.23.0. Differences in the characteristics of users from different countries were quantified through bivariate analysis. Other important variables and controlling factors were studied using logistic regression. RESULTS A total of 1812 respondents participated in the study. Their mean age was 27 years, 82% were male and 24% had ≥ 1 chronic diseases. The overall uptake of influenza vaccine was 17%(21% among "at risk" people) and ranged from 15% in saudi Arabia to 24% in Qatar. Doctor's advice(23%) and a perception of having low body immunity(21%) were the main cited reasons for being vaccinated, whereas unawareness about the vaccine(43%) was the main barrier. The overall uptake of pneumococcal vaccine in the preceding three years was 22%(25% among "at risk" individuals) and ranged from 0% in Bahrain to 79% in Kuwait. The overall uptake of pertussis vaccine was 16%(31% among "vulnerable" people), and ranged from 7% in saudi Arabia to 75% in Oman. The overall uptake of meningococcal vaccine was 20%(29% among the "at risk" people) and ranged from 3% in Oman to 50% in *** The vaccination uptake across GCC countries is suboptimal and varies widely across the countries. Further research is needed to unearth the reasons and formulate action plan.

This research is focused on the analysis of the sequence stratigraphic units of F3 Block,within a wave-dominated delta of Plio–Pleistocene *** wells of F3 block and a 3D seismic data,are utilized in this *** conventional techniques of 3D seismic interpretation were utilized to mark the 11 surfaces on the seismic *** of seismic sequence stratigraphic interpretation,using well logs,and subsequent 3D geostatistical modeling,using seismic data,aided to evaluate the shallow hydrocarbon *** resulting models were obtained using System Tract and Facies models,which were generated by using sequential stimulation method and their variograms made by spherical method,moreover,these models are validated via *** CDF curve generated from upscaling of well logs using geometric method,shows a good relation with less percentage of errors(1 to 2 for Facies and 3 to 4 for System Tract models)between upscaled and raw data that complements the resulted *** approaches help us to delineate the best possible reservoir,lateral extent of system tracts(LST and/or HST)in the respective surface,and distribution of sand and shale in the *** clinoform break points alteration observed on seismic sections,also validates the sequence stratigraphic *** GR log-based Facies model and sequence stratigraphy-based System Tract model of SU-04-2 showed the reservoir characteristics,presence of sand bodies and majorly LST,respectively,mainly adjacent to the main fault of the studied ***,on the seismic section,SU-04-2 exhibits the presence of gas pockets at the same location that also complements the generated Facies and System Tract *** generated models can be utilized for any similar kind of study and for the further research in the F3 block reservoir characterization.

This paper presents results from ground penetrating radar surveys using the SIR-10 B GPR instrument（manufactured by Geophysical survey System Inc., USA）, with 400 MHz monostatic antenna（model 5 103）. survey was made over 3 excavation levels along the highway section at the Ras en Naqab escarpment area, Southwest Jordan. A total of 217 m along 4 profiles were covered in the winter of 2012. The objectives of the study are（i） to evaluate the resolution of the GPR technique in the field for detecting and locating anomalies caused by subsurface structures like cavities, fractures and faults, and（ii） to describe stratigraphic nomenclature of the subsurface rocks of the area. 2D interpretation of the obtained data and the geological information demonstrate a strong correlation between the GPR anomalies and the subsurface geology. Based upon the lateral and vertical velocity changes with depth, the thickness and orientation of the subsurface layers are outlined. Analysis of the exposed section shows good agreement between the estimated thicknesses of lithostratigraphic units and the quantitative assessment of the radar waves velocity inferred from GPR data.

Rapid industrialization and urbanization along with a growing population are contributing significantly to air pollution in *** of long-term aerosol optical depth(AOD)data from models and reanalysis,can greatly promote understanding of spatiotemporal variations in air pollution in *** do this,AOD(550 nm)values from 2000 to 2014 were obtained from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CIMP6),the second version of Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for research,and Applications(MERRA-2),and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS;flying on the Terra satellite)combined Dark Target and Deep Blue(DTB)aerosol *** used the TerraMODIS DTB AOD(hereafter MODIS DTB AOD)as a standard to evaluate CMIP6 Ensemble AOD(hereafter CMIP6 AOD)and MERRA-2 reanalysis AOD(hereafter MERRA-2 AOD).Results show better correlations and smaller errors between MERRA-2 and MODIS DTB AOD,than between CMIP6 and MODIS DTB AOD,in most regions of China,at both annual and seasonal ***,significant under-and over-estimations in the MERRA-2 and CMIP6 AOD were also observed relative to MODIS DTB *** long-term(2000-2014)MODIS DTB AOD distributions show the highest AOD over the North China Plain(0.71)followed by Central China(0.69),Yangtse River Delta(0.67),Sichuan Basin(0.64),and Pearl River Delta(0.54)*** lowest AOD values were recorded over the Tibetan Plateau(0.13±0.01)followed by Qinghai(0.19±0.03)and the Gobi Desert(0.21±0.03).Large amounts of sand and dust particles emitted from natural sources(the Taklamakan and Gobi Deserts)may result in higher AOD in spring compared to summer,autumn,and *** were also calculated for 2000-2005,for2006-2010(when China introduced strict air pollution control policies during the 11 th Five Year Plan or FYP),and for 2011-2014(during the 12 th FYP).An increasing trend in MODIS DTB AOD was observed throughout the country during *** uncontrolled industrialization,urbanization,and rapid eco

The research tackles earthquakes as one of the most dangerous natural disasters. It defines disasters in general, which in turn include earthquakes, how to manage them, stages of their evolution, and their classification among other kinds of disasters such as hurricanes, floods, drought, desertification, etc. Afterwards, it tackles the impacts of disasters on man, buildings and infrastructure. It defines also the codes and laws existing in the Kingdom of saudi Arabia to confront and treat the impacts of earthquakes in their different stages (before, during and after) and the authorities involved in managing them. Then, it moves to study the case of Al-Ais Earthquake, and identifies the points of deficiency in dealing with such a disaster. Moreover, the research tackles some global experiences in how to handle the situation, reaching to the presentation of a conceptual approach to confront disasters of earthquakes in their various stages.
