Background:Different homeopathic approaches have been used as supportive care for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)cases,but none has been tested in a clinical ***:To investigate the effectiveness and safety of the homeopathic medicine,Natrum muriaticum LM2,for mild cases of ***,setting,participants,and interventions:A randomized,double-blind,two-armed,parallel,singlecenter,placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted from June 2020 to April 2021 in S?o-carlos,*** aged>18 years,with influenza-like symptoms and positive result from a real-time polymerase chain reaction test for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 were recruited and randomized(1:1)into two groups that received different treatments during a period of *** group received the homeopathic medicine Natrum muriaticum,prepared with the second degree of the fifty-millesimal dynamization(LM2;Natrum muriaticum LM2),while the other group received a *** measures:The primary endpoint was time until recovery from COVID-19 influenza-like *** measures included a survival analysis of the number and severity of COVID-19 symptoms(influenza-like symptoms plus anosmia and ageusia)from a symptom grading scale that was informed by the participant,hospital admissions,and adverse ***-Meier curves were used to estimate time-to-event(survival)***:Data from 86 participants were analyzed(homeopathy,n=42;placebo,n=44).There was no difference in time to recovery between two groups among participants who were reporting influenzalike symptoms at the beginning of monitoring(homeopathy,n=41;placebo,n=41;P=0.56),nor in a sub-group that had at least 5 moderate to severe influenza-like symptoms at the beginning of monitoring(homeopathy,n=15;placebo,n=17;P=0.06).Secondary outcomes indicated that a 50%reduction in symptom score was achieved significantly earlier in the homeopathy group(homeopathy,n=24;placebo,n=25;P=0.0

A descriptive study about the use of pillboxes by older adults

The goal of this research was to observe which features, according to the users’ point of view, might influence the use of pillboxes. Older adults were surveyed in order to test different pillboxes and report their observations about their difficulties. Both the individuals and the pillboxes themselves have characteristics that might influence successful use, such as difficulty remembering medication names and lack of hand strength and the complexity of the pillboxes’ alarm system and opening mechanism. Pillboxes can be effective in helping older adults take their medication provided they are designed according to both dosage prescription and the user’s functional capacity.

Based on"user pays"and"provider gets"principles,the Payment for Environmental Services(PES)consists of providing economic incentives or compensation for land users who adopt activities that promote ecosystem *** PES initiatives have grown rapidly in Brazil over the last few decades,however,studies that address the panorama of these programs in the country are still scarce,regional,or ***,we investigate the PES overview in Brazil through interviews and an extensive literature *** found in total 80 PES programs implemented in Brazil,of which 14 were *** pro-grams are poorly distributed across the country,mostly concentrated in the Atlantic Forest(56.25%)and Savanna(36.25%)biomes,in Southeastern *** majority of programs primarily prioritize improving water quality and ***,reforestation,protection of native vegetation,and soil and water conservation are their main proposed *** positive impacts of Brazil's PES experi-ences are evident;while the lack of transparency and monitoring,and poor spatial and financial dis-tribution are still major *** conclude that if correctly implemented,PES schemes offer a path to reconcile environmental conservation with agricultural production in Brazil.

Emerging Timber Bridge Program to sao Paulo State： A Five-Year Report

The Emerging Timber Bridge Program to sao Paulo state （ETBPSP） was started in 2001 with the main objective of research and development of new technologies for timber bridge construction. After five years of this program eleven demonstration timber bridges were constructed in the State of sao Paulo, whereas eight composite timber/concrete bridges, one log timber girder bridge with transversal sawn deck, one transversal lumber prestressed timber bridge and one transversal cellular plywood box prestressed bridge. As a final objective is the divulgation of the constructive and structural systems in extension courses to municipal engineers and in a complete publication of timber bridges project plans with the different structural and constructional systems. This paper describes the goals of the MTBPSP, the accomplishments of the program in the first five years, the information sheet of the bridges and outlines some obstacles and opportunities.

The Experience of Regional Planning of the CESP （Companhia Energetica de sao Paulo）, Brazil

This article deals with the important experience of regional planning developed by the CESP （Companhia Energ6tica de Silo Paulo）, Brazil, through the implantation of its hydroelectric projects. The company accumulated a large experience in deploying and managing residential centers built to provide support to the works of their dams. The presence of urban planning was verified in all cases studied, with the participation of different professionals such as architects, planners, engineers and landscape designers, from inside or outside the company. This research shows that they used concepts derived from experiences as company towns of 19th century, the neighborhood unit, the garden city, the urbanistic assumptions from CIAM （Congr^s Internationaux d＇Architecture Moderne） and the TVA （Tennessee Valley Authority）.

On the Distribution of the Minimum or Maximum of a Random Number of i.i.d. Lifetime Random Variables

Statisticians are usually concerned with the proposition of new distributions. In this paper we point out that a unified and concise derivation procedure of the distribution of the minimum or maximum of a random number N of indepen-dent and identically distributed continuous random variables Yi,{i = 1,2,…,N} is obtained if one compounds the probability generating function of N with the survival or the distribution func-tion of Yi. Expressions are then derived in closed form for the density, hazard and quantile func-tions of the minimum or maximum. The methodology is illustrated with examples of the distributions proposed by Adamidis and Loukas (1998), Kus (2007), Tahmasbi and Rezaei (2008), Barreto-Souza and Cribari-Neto (2009), Cancho, Louzada, and Barriga (2011) and Louzada, Roman and Cancho (2011).

Assessment of Self-healing Efficacy of Thermoplastic Ionomer Films Interleaving Carbon-Fibre Reinforced Epoxy Matrix Laminates

In recent years there has been a strong interest in thermoplastic polymers with self-healing behaviour, which after suffering mechanically-induced damage self-repair via energy-activated macromolecular rearrangements. The use of film-shaped self-regenerating polymers in alternating layers with high-performance continuous fibre-reinforced thermosetting polymer matrix laminates is considered particularly attractive in the mitigation of impact damage in high-demanding components and structures, insofar as the self-healing films may at the same time toughen the base fibrous thermosetting matrix laminate composite while providing immediate or subsequent self-repairing according to the above mentioned mechanisms. In this work, mechanical flexural testing along with infrared thermography inspection is proposed for characterizing low temperature （typical of the altitudes in which modem civil and military aircrafts travel） transverse low-energy ballistic impact damage （commonly occurring under the above cited conditions） in thermoplastic ionomer films interleaving carbon-fibre reinforced epoxy matrix laminates, as well as to assess the degree of success of thermally-activated self-healing process of ionomeric phase by external heating sources. Preliminary mechanical results supported the self-healing hypothesis of impact damaged hybrid laminates, and exploratory thermography imaging of both the as-damaged and as-rejuvenated test coupons suggested that this nondestructive evaluation technique is sensitive enough to detect healing effects.

First Breast Cancer Treatment Naturally by Nanoskin Act

It’s well known that the cancer cell has tendency to grow fast. Chemotherapy drugs have been used in order to kill cancer growing cells and take immune system weakly. However, side effect can damage these healthy cells. Moreover, it is not natural treatment. Natural alternative cancer treatments may be able to help and open new way for cancer treatment. In this work, we transfer cancer nodule to wound and we treat the nodule as wound, using Nanoskin® advance cell therapy (ACT), natural extra cellular matrix which releases oxygen to the cancer tissue. Our result shows that the cancer nodule becomes like chronic wound opened and then disappeared. In addition, we obtained complete healing wound.

Papillary fistulotomy vs conventional cannulation for endoscopic biliary access:A prospective randomized trial

AIM To compare the cannulation success, biochemical profile, and complications of the papillary fistulotomy technique vs catheter and guidewire standard *** From July 2010 to May 2017, patients were prospectively randomized into two groups: Cannulation with a catheter and guidewire(Group Ⅰ) and papillary fistulotomy(Group Ⅱ). Amylase, lipase and C-reactive protein at T0, as well as 12 h and 24 h after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, and complications(pancreatitis, bleeding, perforation) were *** We included 102 patients(66 females and 36 males, mean age 59.11 ± 18.7 years). Group Ⅰ and Group Ⅱ had 51 patients each. The successful cannulation rates were 76.5% and 100%, respectively(P = 0.0002). Twelve patients(23.5%) in Group Ⅰ had a difficult cannulation and underwent fistulotomy, which led to successful secondary biliary access(Failure Group). The complication rate was 13.7%(2 perforations and 5 mild pancreatitis) vs 2.0%(1 patient with perforation and pancreatitis) in Groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ, respectively(P = 0.0597). CONCLUSION Papillary fistulotomy was more effective than guidewire cannulation, and it was associated with a lower profile of amylase and lipase. Complications were similar in both groups.

Manufacturing system, with high level of complexity and with a mix of semi-repetitive and repetitive products, to become productive, should seek the standardization of products and processes to obtain the optimization of use of production resources. However, it is necessary to measure the productivity, so that the system of measurement and control of manufacturing processes are an element critical as to ensure greater visibility of the flow＇s restrictions, minimized when detected properly. In this case, the automation of factory＇s measurement process can effectively contribute to ensuring the effectiveness of the function control of a manufacturing system. It is important to consider that the automation of the system of measurement and control of manufacturing processes, of complex environment, is heavily dependent of IT tools applied directly in the interface computational between the operation systems and the corporate systems. This heavy reliance, if exploited technically properly, allows that automation of the system of measurement and control of production makes the access to time real of availability of manufacturing process＇s data, such as processing time and setup time that it can export to a specialist software in programming production, for example, feasible. In this paper, the automation of the system of measurement and control of production is approached, in order to identify the main possibilities of the design of an information system capable to integrate the flow of information in an environment internal on manufacturing organizations, with emphasis in the digital manufacturing paradigm.
