Warming and nitrogen(N)addition may impact soil nitrous oxide(N_(2)O)emissions,but the relationship between plant community composition and soil microbial activities remains *** a two-year field study in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,open-top chambers were used to quantify the effects of warming,N-addition,and their interactions on N_(2)O *** found that the N-addition greatly increased N_(2)O emissions by 77.4%in 2018 when compared to the control *** contrast,warming showed little effect on N_(2)0 emissions but did increase the activity of enzymes associated with soil nitrification and denitrification.A combined effect of warming and N-addition of resulted in 208.6%(2018)and 90.8%(2019)increase in N_(2)0 emissions,respectively,compared to the individual treatments of warming or *** warming in alpine meadows is causally linked to increased legume biomass which is further intensified with the *** legume biomass(p<0.05),soil moisture(p<0.001)and enzyme activity(p<0.001)had a positive effect on N_(2)0 emissions,while diminished microbial carbon/nitrogen(MBC/MBN)(p<0.05)correlated with reduced N_(2)O *** results indicated that N-addition has a positive effect on N_(2)O emissions,and the addition of warming further intensifies this *** increased dominance of legumes and microbial N content contributes to this *** outcomes suggest that warming and atmospheric N deposition can stimulate N_(2)O emissions of alpine meadows inthefuture.

Biochar amendment offers a chance for sustainable agriculture. However, the effectiveness of biochar relies on its physical and chemical properties, which are heavily affected by biochar production conditions and management practices. Therefore, substantial uncertainties regarding the use of biochar exist in agricultural systems *** study provides the first quantitative evaluation of the impacts of biochar characteristics and management practices on key ecosystem services by performing a second-order meta-analysis based on 34,628 paired observations in biochar-amended and unamended systems. Overall, biochar enhances phytotoxicity alleviation,physiology regulation, soil remediation and carbon sequestration, and microbial functional gene ***, some prominent trade-offs exist between crop productivity and ecosystem service deliveries including for nutrient cycling, microbial function, climate change mitigation, and the soil microbial community. The adoption of low C:N biochar produced at high pyrolysis temperatures from sewage sludge-derived feedstock, in combination with a moderate application rate and inorganic fertilizer input, shows potential for achieving synergistic promotion of crop productivity and ecosystem services. These outcomes highlight the need for judicious implementation of biochar-based solutions to site-specific soil constraints. The quantified synergy and tradeoff relationships will aid the establishment of a sustainable biochar development framework that strengthens necessary ecosystem services commensurate with food security assurance.

The study comparatively analysed the socioeconomic characteristics and digital literacy level of agricultural extension personnel (AEP) in Ebonyi and Imo States, South-East, Nigeria. The specific objectives were to describe the socioeconomic characteristics of agricultural extension personnel in Ebonyi and Imo States, and to ascertain the digital literacy level of AEP in the studied states. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 312 agricultural extension personnel (132 from Ebonyi State agricultural Development Program and 180 from Imo State agricultural Development Program) for the study. Data were collected through the use of validated and structured questionnaire, and administered through the help of well-trained enumerators. Data were analysed using simple descriptive statistical tools such as percentages mean score, standard deviation and weighted mean. Findings indicated that they were more male in the both States (55.3% and 57.8%) for Ebonyi and Imo State respectively and that the average age of AEP in Ebonyi and Imo States were 44.7 years and 49.2 years respectively. It was further revealed that the majority (77.3% and 82.8%) had ***./HND as their highest academic qualifications, belonged to professional organisations (62.1% and 75%), and were earning an average monthly income of N58,798 and N62,648 for Ebonyi and Imo State respectively. Also, it was revealed that their mean years of service were 12.4 years and 13.4 years for Ebonyi and Imo State respectively. Almost all of them (87.9% and 95.0%) own a smartphone, had access to the internet (80.3% and 90.0%), but do not own a laptop/ipad (82.6% and 72.8%) for Ebon-yi and Imo State respectively. Results further revealed that agricultural extension personnel in both Ebonyi and Imo State respectively had low digital literacy level ( = 2.41 and 2.32). The study concluded that AEP in Ebonyi and Imo State respectively had similar socioeconomic characteristics and low level of digital literacy. The study

Presently,integrating multi-omics information into a prediction model has become a ameliorate strategy for genomic selection to improve genomic prediction ***,we set the genomic and transcriptomic data as the training population data,using BSLMM,TWAS,and eQTL mapping to prescreen features according to |β_(b)|>0,top 1%of phenotypic variation explained(PVE),expression-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms(eSNPs),and egenes(false discovery rate(FDR)<0.01),where these loci were set as extra fixed effects(named GBLUP-Fix)and random effects(GFBLUP)to improve the prediction accuracy in the validation population,*** results suggested that both GBLUP-Fix and GFBLUP models could improve the accuracy of longissimus dorsi muscle(LDM),water holding capacity(WHC),shear force(SF),and pH in Huaxi cattle on average from 2.14 to 8.69%,especially the improvement of GFBLUP-TWAS over GBLUP was 13.66%for *** methods also captured more genetic variance than *** study confirmed that multi-omics-assisted large-effects loci prescreening could improve the accuracyofgenomic prediction.

Hemoglobin is responsible for transporting oxygen from the lungs to body ***,this protein is a tetramer composed of two a-globin chains and twoβ-globin *** sheep,the β-globin locus is of particular interest because it contains two different haplotypes,namely haplotype A(hap A)and hap B,which differ in length by more than 30 kb and do not undergo recombination with each other due to low sequence similarity(Bauer and Jung,1975;Jiang et al.,2015).The two haplotypes also differ in gene content with hap A possessing two clusters of hemoglobin gene families and hap B possessing only one(Aguiletam et al.,2004),which implies differentiation in their functional *** A was speculated to be associated with high-altitude adaptation in sheep(Hu et al.,2019).

Microwave heating,which is used for pre-treatment of concrete before it is comminuted,stands as a strong candidate for selective liberation of multiphase materials like *** paper is concerned with the selective liberation of concrete's raw constituents(particularly aggregate)for recycling by considering the water content of concrete as a parameter of microwave heating for the first *** deterioration law of the concrete's performance was characterized by the variation in the splitting tensile strength and relative dynamic modulus after heating by microwave at different water ***,tests were conducted to evaluate the performance of the interface transition zone(ITZ)between aggregate and mortar as well as to investigate the reasons for the stripping behavior of aggregate-mortar,which included the interface tensile strength test,temperature measurement,and porosity *** deterioration law of splitting tensile strength and relative dynamic modulus revealed that the performance of concrete was subject to different degrees of damage depending on the water ***,experimental results showed that interface bonding strength between aggregate and mortar was dramatically impaired,and a large temperature difference was generated between the aggregate and mortar during microwave ***,the permeable pores increased considerably even when the specimens were *** the presence of water,the intactness of ITZ between aggregate and mortar was destroyed by microwave heating,and its performance was significantly lowered,which led to the occurrence of stripping behavior between aggregate and *** was reaffirmed by the microstructure presented by scanning electron ***,the newly developed microwave pretreatment improved by providing appropriate water contents for concrete corresponding to different strength grades is a promising method for recycling aggregate from waste concrete.

As a simple,fast,and non-destructive measuring technology,dielectric spectroscopy is usually used to analyze the dielectric properties of agricultural products and food,and then to predict the main components of ***,the large and expensive vector network analyzers(VNA)with expensive analysis software applied in measuring dielectric properties make research limited to the *** acquire dielectric spectra in situ,a model for solving relative complex permittivity was derived,and its performance was ***,a low-cost portable dielectric spectrometer with a mini VNA,a Raspberry Pi,and a coaxial probe as core parts was developed over the frequency range of 100-3000 *** stability and accuracy of the developed spectrometer were tested using milk and *** results indicated that the relative errors of the model were within±5%for dielectric constant(ε′)and loss factor(ε″).The coefficients of variation of measuredε′andε″by the developed spectrometer at 100-3000 MHz were less than 1%and 2%,*** with the dielectric properties obtained by using a commercial dielectric measurement system,the relative errors of measuredε′andε″were within±3.4%and±6.0%,*** study makes fast,non-destructive,and on-site food quality detection using dielectric spectra possible.
