Effect of high temperature on the balance between photosynthetic light absorption and energy utilization in Chlorella pyrenoidosa(Chlorophyceae)

Chlorella pyrenoidosa(Chlorophyceae)is widely cultured for production of health food and animal *** outdoors,mass cultivation of *** often suffers from high temperature.A better understanding of the effects of high temperature on photosynthesis and photoprotection can help optimize the productivity *** *** this study,we investigated effect of high temperature(35,38,or 41℃)on the balance between photosynthetic light absorption and energy utilization of *** contrast to 30℃,higher temperature of 35 or 38℃did not inhibit the growth of *** in 35℃maintained the ***,the PSI acceptor side in 38℃was over-reduced and PSII reaction centers were over-excited under strong light,which destroyed the balance and generated active oxygen species(AOS).However,the activated antioxidant enzymes might remove completely the over-production of AOS,thereby protect *** cells from *** shows that this *** strain could tolerate as high as 38℃.Furthermore,treatment in 41℃resulted in more lack of the balance than that in 38℃.However,the activities of antioxidant enzymes stopped increasing in 41℃,and were not strong enough to remove the excess ***,treatment in 41℃could decrease the growth *** addition,strong and longtime light exposure would cause serious photodamage to *** cells.

Extending the nuclear chart by continuum:From oxygen to titanium

Nuclear masses ranging from O to Ti isotopes are systematically investigated with relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov(RCHB)theory,which can provide a proper treatment of pairing correlations in the presence of the *** O to Ti isotopes,there are 402 nuclei predicted to be bound by the density functional *** the 234 nuclei with mass measured,the root mean square(rms)deviation is 2.23 *** is found that the proton drip-lines predicted with various mass models are roughly the same and basically agree with the *** neutron drip-lines predicted,however,are quite *** to the continuum couplings,the neutron drip-line nuclei predicted are extended further neutron-rich than other mass *** comparison with finite-range droplet model(FRDM),the neutron drip-line nucleus predicted by RCHB theory has respectively2(O),10(Ne),10(Na),6(Mg),8(Al),6(Si),8(P),6(S),14(K),10(Ca),10(Sc),and 12(Ti)more neutrons.

Rare earth element geochemistry of hydrothermal deposits from Southwest Indian Ridge

The REE compositions of hydrothermal deposits and basalt samples from the Southwest Indian Ridge （SWIR） were determined with ICP-MS. The results show that there are significant differences between different types of samples although all samples show relative LREE enrichment. The contents of REE in hydrothermal sulfides and alterated rocks samples are lower （from 7.036× 10^-6 to 23.660×10^-6）, while those in the white chimney deposits are relatively higher （ranging from 84.496 × 10^-6 to 103.511 × 10^- 6）. Both of them are lower than basalts. Chondrite-normalized REE distribution patterns show that sulfides and alterated rocks samples are characterized by significant positive Eu anomalies. On the contrary, white chimney deposits have obvious negative Eu anomalies, which may be caused by abundant calcite existing in the white chimney samples. Both the content and distribution pattern of REE in sulfides suggest that REE most possibly is originally derived from hydrothermal fluids, but influenced by the submarine reducing ore-forming environment, seawater convection, mineral compositions as well as the constraint of mineral crystallizations.

Numerical simulation on vacuum solution heat treatment and gas quenching process of a low rhenium-containing Ni-based single crystal turbine blade

Numerical heat-transfer and turbulent flow model for an industrial high-pressure gas quenching vacuum furnace was established to simulate the heating,holding and gas fan quenching of a low rhenium-bearing Ni-based single crystal turbine *** mesh of simplified furnace model was built using finite volume method and the boundary conditions were set up according to the practical *** results show that the turbine blade geometry and the mutual shielding among blades have significant influence on the uniformity of the temperature *** temperature distribution at sharp corner,thin wall and corner part is higher than that at thick wall part of blade during heating,and the isotherms show a toroidal line to the center of thick *** temperature of sheltered units is lower than that of the remaining part of *** there is no shelteration among multiple blades,the temperature distribution for all blades is almost *** fluid velocity field,temperature field and cooling curves of the single and multiple turbine blades during gas fan quenching were also *** results indicate that the loading tray,free outlet and the location of turbine blades have important influences on the flow *** high-speed gas flows out from the nozzle is divided by loading tray,and the free outlet enhanced the two vortex flow at the end of the furnace *** closer the blade is to the exhaust outlet and the nozzle,the greater the flow velocity is and the more adequate the flow *** blade geometry has an effect on the cooling for single blade and multiple blades during gas fan quenching,and the effects in double layers differs from that in single *** single blade,the cooing rate at thin-walled part is lower than that at thick-walled part,the cooling rate at sharp corner is greater than that at tenon and blade platform,and the temperature at regions close to the internal position is decreased more slowly than that close to the surfa

Comparison on effect of hydrophobicity on the antibacterial and antifungal activities of α-helical antimicrobial peptides

HPRP-A1, a 15-mer α-helical cationic peptide, was derived from N-terminus of ribosomal protein L1 (RpL1) of Helicobacter pylori. In this study, HPRP-A1 was used as a framework to obtain a series of peptide analogs with different hydrophobicity by single amino acid substitutions in the center of nonpolar face of the amphipathic helix in order to systematically study the effect of hydrophobicity on biological activities of -helical antimicrobial peptides. Hydrophobicity and net charge of peptides played key roles in the biological activities of these peptide analogs; HPRP-A1 and peptide analogs with relative higher hydrophobicity exerted broad spectrum antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria and pathogenic fungi, but also showed stronger hemolytic activity; the change of hydrophobicity and net charge of peptides had similar effects with close trend and extent on antibacterial activities and antifungal activities. This indicated that there were certain correlations between the antibacterial mode of action and the antifungal mode of action of these peptides in this study. The peptides exhibited antimicrobial specificity for bacteria and fungi, which provided potentials to develop new antimicrobial drugs for clinical practices.

A study on the flowability of gas displacing water in low-permeability coal reservoir based on NMR technology

Flowability of gas and water through low-permeability coal plays crucial roles in coalbed methane(CBM)recovery from coal *** better understand this phenomenon,experiments examining the displacement of water by gas under different displacement pressures were systematically carried out based on nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)technology using low-permeability coal samples of medium-high coal rank from Yunnan and Guizhou,*** results reveal that both the residual water content(W_(r))and residual water saturation(S_(r))of coal gradually decrease as the displacement pressure(P)*** P is 0-2 MPa,the decline rates of W_(r) and S_(r) are fastest,beyond which they slow down *** samples with higher permeability exhibit higher water flowability and larger decreases in W_(r) and S_(r).Compared with medium-rank coal,high-rank coal shows weaker fluidity and a higher proportion of irreducible *** relationship between P and the cumulative displaced water content(W_(c))can be described by a Langmuir-like equation,W_(c)=WLP/(PL+P),showing an increase in W_(c) in coal with an increase in *** the low-pressure stage from 0 to 2 MPa,W_(c) increases most rapidly,while in the high-pressure stage(P>2 MPa),W_(c) tends to be *** minimum pore diameter(d′)at which water can be displaced under different displacement pressures was also *** d′value decreases as P increases in a power relationship;i.e.,d′the coal gradually decreases with the gradual increase in ***,the d′values of most of the coal samples are close to 20 nm under a P of 10 MPa.

Method of accurately calculating mean field operator in multi-configuration time-dependent Hartree-Fock frame

The accurate theoretical expressions of the mean field operator associated with the multi-configuration time-dependent Hartree-Fock （MCTDHF） method are presented in this paper. By using a theoretical formula, derived without approxima- tion, we can study the multi-electron correlation dynamics accurately. Some illustrative calculations are carried out to check the accuracy of the expression of the mean field operator. The results of illustrative calculations indicate the reliability of the accurate expression of the mean field operator. This theoretical calculation method for the mean field operator may be of considerable help in future studies of the correlated dynamics of many-electron systems in strong laser fields.

Background:Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)is an independent risk factor for colorectal cancer(CRC),and the patients with CRC and T2DM have worse *** human gut microbiota(GM)is linked to the development of CRC and T2DM,***,the GM characteristics in patients with CRC and T2DM remain ***:We performed fecal metagenomic and targeted metabolomics studies on 36 samples from CRC patients with T2DM(DCRC group,n=12),CRC patients without diabetes(CRC group,n=12),and healthy controls(Health group,n=12).We analyzed the fecal microbiomes,characterized the composition and function based on the metagenomics of DCRC patients,and detected the short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)and bile acids(BAs)levels in all fecal ***,we performed a correlation analysis of the differential bacteria and metabolites between different ***:Compared with the CRC group,LefSe analysis showed that there is a specific GM community in DCRC group,including an increased abundance of Eggerthella,Hungatella,Peptostreptococcus,and Parvimonas,and decreased Butyricicoccus,Lactobacillus,and *** metabolomics analysis results revealed that the butyric acid level was lower but the deoxycholic acid and 12-keto-lithocholic acid levels were higher in the DCRC group than other groups(P<0.05).The correlation analysis showed that the dominant bacterial abundance in the DCRC group(Parvimonas,Desulfurispora,Sebaldella,and Veillonellales,among others)was negatively correlated with butyric acid,hyodeoxycholic acid,ursodeoxycholic acid,glycochenodeoxycholic acid,chenodeoxycholic acid,cholic acid and ***,the abundance of mostly inferior bacteria was positively correlated with these metabolic acid levels,including Faecalibacterium,Thermococci,and ***:Unique fecal microbiome signatures exist in CRC patients with T2DM compared to those with non-diabetic *** in GM composition and SCFAs and secondary BAs levels may pro

In recent years,academic misconduct has been frequently exposed by the media,with serious impacts on the academic *** research on academic misconduct focuses mainly on detecting plagiarism in article content through the application of character-based and non-text element detection techniques over the entirety of a *** the most part,these techniques can only detect cases of textual plagiarism,which means that potential culprits can easily avoid discovery through clever editing and alterations of text *** this paper,we propose an academic misconduct detection method based on scholars’submission *** model can effectively capture the atypical behavioral approach and operation of the *** such,it is able to detect various types of misconduct,thereby improving the accuracy of detection when combined with a text content *** model learns by forming a dual network group that processes text features and user behavior features to detect potential academic ***,the effect of scholars’behavioral features on the model are considered and ***,the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique(SMOTE)is applied to address the problem of imbalanced samples of positive and negative classes among contributing ***,the text features of the papers are combined with the scholars’behavioral data to improve recognition *** results on the imbalanced dataset demonstrate that our model has a highly satisfactory performance in terms of accuracy and recall.
