Machine learning algorithm partially reconfigured on FPGA for an image edge detection system

Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)have been widely used in military,medical,wireless communications,aerial surveillance,*** key topic involving UAVs is pose estimation in autonomous navigation.A standard procedure for this process is to combine inertial navigation system sensor information with the global navigation satellite system(GNSS)***,some factors can interfere with the GNSS signal,such as ionospheric scintillation,jamming,or *** alternative method to avoid using the GNSS signal is to apply an image processing approach by matching UAV images with georeferenced *** a high effort is required for image edge *** a support vector regression(SVR)model is proposed to reduce this computational load and processing *** dynamic partial reconfiguration(DPR)of part of the SVR datapath is implemented to accelerate the process,reduce the area,and analyze its granularity by increasing the grain size of the reconfigurable *** show that the implementation in hardware is 68 times faster than that in *** architecture with DPR also facilitates the low power consumption of 4 mW,leading to a reduction of 57%than that without *** is also the lowest power consumption in current machine learning hardware ***,the circuitry area is 41 times *** with Gaussian kernel shows a success rate of 99.18%and minimum square error of 0.0146 for testing with the planning *** system is useful for adaptive applications where the user/designer can modify/reconfigure the hardware layout during its application,thus contributing to lower power consumption,smaller hardware area,and shorter execution time.

Study of industrially applied methods for verification, validation and uncertainty quantification of simulator models

To better utilize the potential of system simulation models and simulators,industrially applicable methods for Verification,Validation and Uncertainty Quantification(VV&UQ)are *** paper presents an exploratory case study of VV&UQ techniques applied on models integrated in aircraft system simulators at saab aeronautics and in driving simulators at the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute(VTI).Results show that a large number of Verification and Validation(V&V)techniques are applied,some of which are promising for further development and use in simulator credibility *** the application of UQ,a large gap between academia and this part of industry has been identified,and simplified methods are *** applicability of the NASA Credibility Assessment Scale(CAS)at the studied organizations is also evaluated and it can be concluded that the CAS is considered to be a usable tool for achieving a uniform level of V&V for all models included in a simulator,although its implementation at the studied organizations requires tailoring and coordination.

＜正＞No Fault Found（NFF） events are critical and well-known problems for certain aircraft *** paper presents a study of these events for repairable items with on-condition maintenance,based on operational data from a military aircraft Some findings are that:the number of NFF events is influenced by item type and number of repairs;most NFF events are initiated by faults recognized during operation;and different inspections contribute to NFF ***,item design and tests at different operational modes and maintenance echelons should be better aligned to reduce the number of NFF events.
