Heat stress(HS)has been shown to adversely affect fish livers and can lead to extensive *** investigate the relationship between endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress and HS-induced apoptosis in fish livers,we isolated and cultured primary hepatocytes of largemouth bass,Micropterus salmoides by trypsin method,then established an in-vitro model of liver cells under HS(35℃).The contents of lactic dehydrogenase(LDH)and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)were determined to evaluate the effects of HS on hepatocyte injury and oxidative ***-qPCR was performed to discover the key genes in unfolded protein response(UPR)pathways involved at different HS *** inhibitor 4-PBA and IRE1αinhibitor 4μ8C were used to further investigate the effects of HS on IRE1αapoptosis pathway in *** show that HS led to significant increases in the release of LDH,the content of H2O2,and the expressions of oxidative protein folding genes(ero1αand pdi)under HS,suggesting severe hepatocyte injury and oxidative stress happened in heat-stressed largemouth bass *** continuous activation of IRE1αpathway genes(grp78,grp94,atf6,perk,eif2a,atf4,chop,ire1α,traf2,ask1,jnk1,and jnk2)indicated that HS led significantly to ER *** particular,the mRNA expression levels of ER stress-related genes(grp78,grp94,atf6,perk,ire1α,chop,jnk1,and jnk2)in the high temperature(HT)+4-PBA group and the HT+4μ8C group were significantly down-regulated under *** 4μ8C treatment,the expression levels of apoptosis-related genes(caspase-2,caspase-3,caspase-6,caspase-7,caspase-8,caspase-9,and caspase-10)and LDH content were significantly decreased,whereas the cell survival rate was significantly increased when given 4-PBA or 4μ8C *** findings demonstrate that HS could induce liver apoptosis of largemouth bass through the IRE1αpathway,which may act as a key switch mediating liver apoptosis of largemouth bass under HS.

Laser tracers are a three-dimensional coordinate measurement system that are widely used in industrial *** propose a geometric error identification method based on multi-station synchronization laser tracers to enable the rapid and high-precision measurement of geometric errors for gantry-type computer numerical control(CNC)machine *** method also improves on the existing measurement efficiency issues in the single-base station measurement method and multi-base station time-sharing measurement *** consider a three-axis gantry-type CNC machine tool,and the geometric error mathematical model is derived and established based on the combination of screw theory and a topological analysis of the machine kinematic *** four-station laser tracers position and measurement points are realized based on the multi-point positioning principle.A self-calibration algorithm is proposed for the coordinate calibration process of a laser tracer using the Levenberg-Marquardt nonlinear least squares method,and the geometric error is solved using Taylor’s first-order linearization *** experimental results show that the geometric error calculated based on this modeling method is comparable to the results from the Etalon laser *** a volume of 800 mm×1000 mm×350 mm,the maximum differences of the linear,angular,and spatial position errors were 2.0μm,2.7μrad,and 12.0μm,respectively,which verifies the accuracy of the proposed *** research proposes a modeling method for the precise measurement of errors in machine tools,and the applied nature of this study also makes it relevant both to researchers and those in the industrial sector.

BACKGROUND:Postpartum posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD)can occur in women who give birth after emergency *** identification of risk factors for this condition is crucial for developing effective preventive *** retrospective study aimed to explore the incidence and risk factors for postpartum PTSD in women who give birth after emergency ***:Medical records of women who gave birth after emergency admission were collected between March 2021 and April *** patients’general conditions and perinatal clinical indicators were *** puerperae were divided into PTSD group and control group based on symptom occurrence at six weeks *** logistic regression analysis was performed to identify risk ***:A total of 276 puerperae were included,with a PTSD incidence of 20.3% at six weeks *** logistic regression analysis identified emergency cesarean section(odds ratio[OR]=2.102;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.114-3.966,P=0.022),admission to the emergency department after midnight(12:00 AM)(OR=2.245;95%CI:1.170-4.305,P<0.001),and cervical dilation(OR=3.203;95%CI:1.670–6.141,P=0.039)as independent risk factors for postpartum *** pump use(OR=0.500;95%CI:0.259–0.966,P=0.015)was found to be a protective factor against postpartum ***:Emergency cesarean section,admission to the emergency department after midnight,and cervical dilation were identified as independent risk factors for postpartum PTSD,while analgesic pump use was a protective *** findings provide insights for developing more effective preventive measures for women who give birth after emergency admission.

Structured illumination microscopy(SIM)is a popular and powerful super-resolution(SR)technique in biomedical ***,the conventional reconstruction algorithm for SIM heavily relies on the accurate prior knowledge of illumination patterns and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)of raw *** obtain high-quality SR images,several raw images need to be captured under high fluorescence level,which further restricts SIM’s temporal resolution and its *** learning(DL)is a data-driven technology that has been used to expand the limits of optical *** this study,we propose a deep neural network based on multi-level wavelet and attention mechanism(MWAM)for *** results show that the MWAM network can extract high-frequency information contained in SIM raw images and accurately integrate it into the output image,resulting in superior SR images compared to those generated using wide-field images as input *** also demonstrate that the number of SIM raw images can be reduced to three,with one image in each illumination orientation,to achieve the optimal tradeoff between temporal and spatial ***,our MWAM network exhibits superior reconstruction ability on low-SNR images compared to conventional SIM *** have also analyzed the adaptability of this network on other biological samples and successfully applied the pretrained model to other SIM systems.

Thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH)is important for the thyroid gland,development,growth,and *** in TSH production or the thyrotrope cells within the pituitary gland cause congenital hypothyroidism(CH),resulting in growth retardation and neurocognitive *** human TSH is known to display rhythmicity,the molecular mechanisms underlying the circadian regulation of TSH and the effects of TSH-thyroid hormone(TH)signaling on the circadian clock remain *** we show that TSH,thyroxine(T4),triiodothyronine(T3),and tshba display rhythmicity in both larval and adult zebrafish and tshba is regulated directly by the circadian clock via both E′-box and *** tshba^(−/−)mutants manifest congenital hypothyroidism,with the characteristics of low levels of T_(4)and T_(3)and growth *** or overexpression of tshba alters the rhythmicity of locomotor activities and expression of core circadian clock genes and hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid(HPT)axis-related ***,TSH-TH signaling regulates clock2/npas2 via the thyroid response element(TRE)in its promoter,and transcriptome analysis reveals extensive functions of Tshba in ***,our results demonstrate that zebrafish tshba is a direct target of the circadian clock and in turn plays critical roles in circadian regulation along with other functions.

High electro-optical conversion efficiency is one of the most distinctive features of semiconductor lasers as compared to other types of *** further increase remains a significant *** enhancing the efficiency of edgeemitting lasers(EEL),which represent the highest efficiency among semiconductor lasers at present,is *** efficiency of vertical cavity surface emitting lasers(VCSELs)has always been relatively low compared to *** paper,combining modeling with experiments,demonstrates the potential of multi-junction cascaded VCSELs to achieve high efficiency beyond that of EELs,our simulations show,that a 20-junction VCSEL can achieve an efficiency of more than 88%at room *** fabricated VCSEL devices with different numbers of junctions and compared their energy efficiency.15-junction VCSELs achieved a maximum efficiency of 74%at room temperature under nanosecond driving current,the corresponding differential quantum efficiency exceeds 1100%,being the largest electro-optical conversion efficiency and differential quantum efficiency reported until now for VCSELs.

This paper studies the optimal portfolio allocation of a fund manager when he bases decisions on both the absolute level of terminal relative performance and the change value of terminal relative performance comparison to a predefined reference point. We find the optimal investment strategy by maximizing a weighted average utility of a concave utility and an Sshaped utility via a concavification technique and the martingale method. Numerical results are carried out to show the impact of the extent to which the manager pays attention to the change of relative performance related to the reference point on the optimal terminal relative performance.

AIM:To provide the direct evidence for the crucial role of trimethylamine N-oxide(TMAO)in vascular permeability and endothelial cell dysfunction under diabetic ***:The role of TMAO on the in vitro biological effect of human retinal microvascular endothelial cells(HRMEC)under high glucose conditions was tested by a cell counting kit,wound healing,a transwell and a tube formation *** inflammation-related gene expression affected by TMAO was tested by real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The expression of the cell junction was measured by Western blotting(WB)and immunofluorescence *** addition,two groups of rat models,diabetic and non-diabetic,were fed with normal or 0.1%TMAO for 16wk,and their plasma levels of TMAO,vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),interleukin(IL)-6 and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αwere *** vascular permeability of rat retinas was measured using FITC-Dextran,and the expression of zonula occludens(ZO)-1 and claudin-5 in rat retinas was detected by WB or immunofluorescence ***:TMAO administration significantly increased the cell proliferation,migration,and tube formation of primary HRMEC either in normal or high-glucose ***-PCR showed elevated inflammation-related gene expression of HRMEC under TMAO stimulation,while WB or immunofluorescence staining indicated decreased cell junction ZO-1 and occludin expression after high-glucose and TMAO *** rats showed higher plasma levels of TMAO as well as retinal vascular leakage,which were even higher in TMAO-feeding diabetic ***,TMAO administration increased the rat plasma levels of VEGF,IL-6 and TNF-αwhile decreasing the retinal expression levels of ZO-1 and ***:TMAO enhances the proliferation,migration,and tube formation of HRMEC,as well as destroys their vascular integrity and tight *** also regulates the expression of VEGF,IL-6,and TNF-α.
