In order to solve the problem of poor formability caused by different materials and properties in the process of tailor-welded sheets forming,a forming method was proposed to change the stress state of tailor-welded sheets by covering the tailor-welded sheets with better plastic properties overlapping *** the same time,the interface friction effect between the overlapping and tailor-welded sheets was utilized to control the stress magnitude and further improve the formability and quality of the tailor-welded *** this work,the bulging process of the tailor-welded overlapping sheets was taken as the research *** alloy tailor-welded overlapping sheets bulging specimens were studied by a combination of finite element analysis and experimental *** results show that the appropriate use of interface friction between tailor-welded and overlapping sheets can improve the formability of tailor-welded sheets and control the flow of weld seam to improve the forming *** increasing the interface friction coefficient on the side of tailor-welded sheets with higher strength and decreasing that on the side of tailor-welded sheets with lower strength,the deformation of the tailor-welded sheets are more uniform,the offset of the weld seam is minimal,the limit bulging height is maximal,and the forming quality is optimal.

A β--NiAI alloy with normal purity, a S-doped and a Dy and S co-doped （Y-NiAI alloys were prepared by arc-melting and their corresponding S contents were less than 20 ×10-6, 33 ×10-6 and 22 × 10-6, respectively. The isothermal oxidation behavior of the alloys at 1200 ℃ was investigated and the extent of S segregation at the scale-alloy interface was determined by scanning Auger microscopy. S-doping had no significant effect on the phase transformation rate from e- to β-Al2O3, while the addition of Dy retarded this process. For the S- doped alloy, scale rumpling occurred only after 2 h thermal exposure and numerous large voids were observed at the scale-alloy interface where S segregated. In contrast to this, the oxide scale formed on the Dy and S co-doped alloy still remained flat even after 50 h isothermal oxidation and only small voids existed at the interface where S segregation was not detected.

An Anisotropic Geomechanical Model for Jointed Rock Masses at Taishan Nuclear Power Station, Southern China

An anisotropic geomechanical model for jointed rock mass is presented. Simultaneously with deriving the orthotropic anisotropy elastic parameters along the positive axis, the equivalent compliance matrix for the deflection axis orthotropic anisotropy was derived through a three- dimensional coordinate transformation. In addition, Singh＇s analysis of the stress concentration effects of intermittent joints was adopted, based on two groups of intermittent joints and a set of cross- cutting joints in the jointed rock mass. The stress concentration effects caused by intermittent joints and the coupling effect of cross-cutting joints along the deflection-axis are also considered. The proposed anisotropic mechanics parameters method is applied to determine the deformation parameters of jointed granite at the Taishan Nuclear Power Station. Combined with the deterministic mechanical parameters of rock blocks and joints, the deformation parameters and their variability in jointed rock masses are estimated quantitatively. The computed results show that jointed granite at the Taishan Nuclear Power Station exhibits typical anisotropic mechanical characteristics; the elastic moduli in the two horizontal directions were similar, but the elastic modulus in the vertical direction was much greater. Jointed rock elastic moduli in the two horizontal and vertical directions were respectively about 24% and 37% of the core of rock, showing weakly orthotropic anisotropy; the ratio of elastic moduli in the vertical and horizontal directions was 1.53, clearly indicating the transversely isotropic rock mass mechanical characteristics. The method can be popularized to solve other rock mechanics problems in nuclear power engineering.

Broadside Compensation Rolling Model for Plan View Pattern Control in Wide and Heavy Plate Rolling Process

On the basis of a 5 m plate mill, a 3D rigid-plastic finite element （FE） model was developed to investigate changes of plate plan view patterns during hot rolling process. By analyzing the simulation results of conventional rolling processes, it was found that the plate plan view pattern was closely related to broadside rolling ratio. Then, the prediction models for plate plan view patterns were formulated by nonlinear regressive analysis of the simulation results and modified for high accuracy. Based on these models, the broadside compensation rolling method perform- ing at the last pass of broadside rolling phase was designed to decrease plate end crops. Comparing the plate plan view patterns with and without broadside compensation roiling, reduced plate end crops indicate that the broadside compensation roiling model is effective for plate plan view pattern control.

The effects of minor Zn(0.2 at%,0.4 at%,0.6 at%) on the microstructures and mechanical properties of Mg-1.4 Gd-1.2 Y-0.15 Zr(at%) alloys were systematically *** reveal that increasing Zn content leads to the increase of the intergranular phases and the change of their composition from Mg24(Gd,Y)5 phase and(Mg,Zn)3(Gd,Y) phase to 18 R-LPSO phase and(Mg,Zn)3(Gd,Y) ***24(Gd,Y)5 phase is body-centered cubic structure and shares the same lattice constant with Mg24Y5 while(Mg,Zn)3(Gd,Y)phase is face-centered cubic structure with lattice constant of 0.72 nm,slightly lower than Mg3Gd.18RLPSO structure is identified to be monoclinic with c-axis not strictly vertical to the bottom surface but93.5°.The growth patterns of intergranular phases change from the divorced growth to coupled growth as compositions ***,the mechanical performance improves with Zn rising,ascribed to the decrease of brittle phases at grain boundaries and the increase of LPSO structure phases.

Amorphous Fe62-x Ni19CoxCu0.1 Si3.8B14Cr1. 1 （x=0, 1, 5, 10） ribbons were annealed under magnetic field and tensile stress, respectively, and their magnetic properties were investigated. Fe73.5 Cu1 Nb3 Si15.5 B7 and Fe66 Ni10- Cu1 Nb3Si11 B9 nanocrystalline alloy ribbons were also fabricated for comparison. Excellent DC tolerant property was obtained in the amorphous FeNiCoCuSiBCr ribbons after thermomagnetic treatment and the constant permeable property was improved with increasing Co content. The relative permeability was constant up to the DC bias field of approximately 6 ×10 ^-4 , 9 ×10 ^-4, and 10 × 10^-4 T and the values of relative permeability μ were 1 650, 1 200, and 1 000 with the Co content being 0, 5 at. %, and 10 at.%, respectively. Besides, stress-annealed FeNiCoCuSiBCr al- loy ribbons were proved to exhibit positive saturation magnetostriction constant λs.

Magnetic Properties of Nanocrystalline Powder Cores Fabricated by Mechanically Crushed Powders

Fe73. 5 Cu1 Nb3 Si15.5B7 nanocrystalline powder cores with different particle sizes ranging from 10 to 125 9m were fabricated by cold-pressing techniques. The cores exhibited increased core loss P cv and decreased initial permea- bility μi with addition of fine powders below 50 μm in size, and the content should be less than 40 mass%. It was thought to be closely related to the high coercive force H c due to the stresses generated during the crushing process and high demagnetization fields of small powders. Furthermore, modifying the alloy compositions by adding defined amount of Ni could improve the soft magnetic properties, including superior characteristics of permeability under high direct current （DC） bias field and comparable low core loss at high frequency.

As the important matrix material,epoxy resin has been widely used in the composites for various *** account of the poor toughness of epoxy resin limiting their suitability for advanced applications,considerable interests have been conducted to modify the epoxy resin to meet the engineering *** this study,the bio-based polyurethane(PU)modified resin was adopted to modify the pure bisphenol-A epoxy by blending method with various *** to illuminate the curing behavior,mechanical and thermal properties,the blended epoxy systems were characterized by viscosity-time analysis,dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA)at different frequencies and temperatures,mechanical tensile test,thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)and Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)*** results indicated that the introduction of PU modified epoxy was found to significantly inhibit the viscosity growth rates especially when the content of PU modified epoxy resin is higher than 60%.Notwithstanding the dynamic modulus and T_(g)reduced with the increment of PU modified epoxy,remarkable increment on the elongation at break was found and the flexibility was greatly promoted with the introduction of PU modified *** proportion of PU modified epoxy in the blends should be put balance considerations to obtain optimal mechanical *** results and FTIR spectrum demonstrated that the addition of PU modified epoxy did not change the thermal decomposition mechanism and chemical reaction mechanism,but the addition of PU modified epoxy inhibits the curing reaction of epoxy resin by measured and calculated the damping temperature domainT from 35.7℃ to 48.9℃.

Modification of Inclusions in Liquid Iron by Mg Treatment

Effect of Mg addition on the compositions of inclusions were studied. The results show that Mg can minimize the inclusions of steel obviously. Under the present condition, Mg deoxidation products of low-S content experimental steel would be changed in the order of Al2O3→MgAl2O4→Mg–Al–O–S→Mg–O–S. Mg deoxidation products of high-S content experimental steel generate Mg–S(–O)+MnS type inclusions, except for usual oxysulfide. And it is consistent with the results of thermodynamics calculation. Mg is preferred to react with oxide, compared with sulfide. The reaction reaches the equilibrium after 1 min or 5 min. It shows that the number and diameter of inclusions in all experimental steel samples are well under control, helping to improve the properties of steel.
