Some patients with chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection failed to clear HBV,even persistently continue to produce antibodies to *** we performed a two stage genome wide association study in a cohort of Chinese patients designed to discover single nucleotide variants that associate with HBV infection and clearance of *** first stage involved genome wide exome sequencing of 101 cases(HBsAg plus anti-HBs positive)compared with 102 control patients(antiHBs positive,HBsAg negative).Over 80%of individual sequences displayed 209 sequence ***,uncertain bases[10%or low-quality base calls([50%)were filtered and compared to the human reference genome *** the second stage,579 chronic HBV infected cases and 439 HBV clearance controls were sequenced with selected genes from the first *** there were no significant associated gene variants in the first stage,two significant gene associations were discovered when the two stages were assessed in a combined *** association showed rs506121-“T”allele[within the dedicator of cytokinesis 8(DOCK8)gene]was higher in chronic HBV infection group than that in clearance group(P=0.002,OR=0.77,95%CI[0.65,0.91]).The second association involved rs2071676—A allele within the Carbonic anhydrase(CA9)gene that was significantly elevated in chronic HBV infection group compared to the clearance group(P=0.0003,OR=1.35,95%CI[1.15,1.58]).Upon replication these gene associations would suggest the influence of DOCK8 and CA9 as potential risk genetic factors in the persistence of HBV infection.

Andrias davidianus(Chinese giant salamander,CGS)is the largest and oldest extant amphibian species in the world and is a source of prospective functional food in ***,the progress of functional peptides mining was slow due to lack of reference genome and protein sequence *** this study,we illustrated full-length transcriptome sequencing to interpret the proteome of CGS meat and obtain 10703 coding DNA *** functional annotation and amino acid composition analysis,we have discovered various genes related to signal transduction,and 16 genes related to *** have also found vast variety of functional peptides through protein coding sequence(CDS)analysis by comparing the data obtained with the functional peptide ***-Pro-Ile predicted by the CDS analysis was released from the CGS meat through enzymatic hydrolysis,suggesting that our approach is *** study suggested that transcriptomic analysis can be used as a reference to guide polypeptide mining in CGS meat,thereby providing a powerful mining strategy for the bioresources with unknown genomic and proteomic sequences.

Temperature-dependent synergistic evolution mechanism of rhenium and irradiation defects in tungsten-rhenium alloys

We have systemically investigated the synergistic evolution of rhenium(Re)and irradiation defects in tungsten(W)-Re alloys under different temperatures and irradiation doses using object Kinetic Monte Carlo *** results revealed the underlying mechanism for the transition of Re effect on W from beneficial to harmful during the Re-defects evolution with the increase of irradiation dose,in which tem-perature always plays a critical *** the one hand,Re will significantly promote the defect annihila-tion at low irradiation doses and high temperatures,thereby effectively reducing their sizes and number *** is due to the formation of stable Re-SIAs complexes that can be eliminated by the mobile vacancy-type defects,whereas the transition of the migration pattern of SIAs only plays a weak role in the defect recombination in W-Re *** the other hand,with the increase of irradiation dose,Re will aggregate to form Re-rich clusters or even ***,the formation mechanism of Re-rich clusters is also dependent on *** low temperatures,the interstitial-mediated mech-anism plays a crucial role in the Re-rich cluster formation,while at high temperatures,both SIA-type and vacancy-type defects will act as the transport carriers of Re to promote their ***,the critical conditions for the transition of Re from beneficial to harmful and the formation of Re-rich clusters at different tem peratures and irradiation doses are given with the help of the phase *** work presents the temperature dependence of the synergy of Re and irradiation defects in W-Re in fusion-relevant environment,which provides a good reference for the development of radiation-resistant materials and the prediction of W performance in fusion reactors.

This study identifies the carrying state and value of Tibet’s resource and environmental carrying capacity.A new theoretical framework is proposed for exploring the resource and environmental carrying capacity based on two perspectives of“growth limit”and“stability of Human-Earth relationship system”.On this basis,an ideal growth model that accords with the“short board”effect is established to predict the population *** results show that the holistic state of resource and environmental carrying capacity in Tibet is in *** 2010 to 2016,Tibet’s carrying state continued to decline,moreover,the negative forces still overwhelm the positive *** the resource reserves still have room for more population,the environmental capacity and ecological capacity have been ***,the Human-Earth relationship system is in an unstable *** scenarios that respond to different socioeconomic developments are implemented to predict the population limitation of resource and environmental carrying capacity in Tibet;thus,authors argue that Tibet should keep its population size within 4 million around *** research will provide reference for sustainable development and resources and environmental conservation in Tibet.

The lunar volcanic glasses and Mg-suite rocks represent the early enigmatic episodes of lunar *** to the gravitational instability of the Fe-Ti enriched(±KREEP)layer,which is formed at the later stage of fractional crystallization,a post-magma-ocean cumulate overturn occurred contemporaneously or near-contemporaneously with the lunar magma ocean(LMO)*** radioactive elements within the KREEP layer were transferred downward and provided continuous energy for the partial melting of the Moon’s *** melt from the Moon’s interior and those from decompression melting,in turn,provide source magma for the origin of lunar volcanic glasses and ***,experimental and theoretical studies on the formation process of lunar volcanic glasses and Mg-suite show that the origin of their parental magma is poorly constrained,which largely depends on the initial depth and composition of the *** review examines the mineralogy,petrogenesis,and distribution of lunar volcanic glasses and *** with existing models,we constrain the degree,distribution,and timescale of lunar mantle overturn and explore their relationship with later stages of LMO *** propose an updated chemical composition of the lunar interior,which provides a useful reference for estimating the bulk composition and early differentiation of the Moon and the early Earth.

Determination of minimum overburden depth for underwater shield tunnel in sands:Comparison between circular and rectangular tunnels

With the development of global urbanization,the utilization of underground space is more critical and attractive for civil *** shapes of shield tunnels have been gradually proposed to cope with different geological conditions and service purposes of underground ***,reducing the burial depth of shield tunnel is conducive to construction and cost ***,extremely small overburden depth cannot provide sufficient uplift resistance to maintain the stability and serviceability of the *** this end,this paper firstly reviewed the status of deriving the minimum sand over-burden depth of circular shield tunnel using mechanical equilibrium(ME)*** revealed that the estimated depth is rather ***,the uplift resistance mechanism of both circular and rectangular tunnels was deduced theoretically and verified with the model *** theoretical uplift resistance is consistent with the experimental values,indicating the feasibility of the proposed ***,the determination of the minimum soil overburden depth of rectangular shield tunnel under various working conditions was presented through integrated ME method,which can provide more reasonable estimations of suggested tunnel burial depth for practical ***,optimizations were made for calculating the uplift resistance,and the soil thickness providing uplift resistance is suggested to be adjusted according to the testing *** results can provide reference for the design and construction of various shapes of shield tunnels in urban underground space exploitation.

Failure mechanism and infrared radiation characteristic of hard siltstone induced by stratification effect

The deformation in sedimentary rock induced by train loads has potential threat to the safe operation of tunnels. This study investigated the influence of stratification structure on the infrared radiation and temporal damage mechanism of hard siltstone. The uniaxial compression tests, coupled with acoustic emission(AE) and infrared radiation temperature(IRT) were conducted on siltstones with different stratification effects. The results revealed that the stratigraphic structure significantly affects the stress-strain response and strength degradation characteristics. The mechanical parameters exhibit anisotropy characteristics, and the stratification effect exhibits a negative correlation with the cracking stress and peak stress. The failure modes caused by the stratification effect show remarkable anisotropic features, including splitting failure(Ⅰ: 0°-22.50°, Ⅱ: 90°), composite failure(45°), and shearing failure(67.50°). The AE temporal sequences demonstrate a stepwise response characteristic to the loading stress level. The AE intensity indicates that the stress sensitivity of shearing failure and composite failure is generally greater than that of splitting failure. The IRT field has spatiotemporal migration and progressive dissimilation with stress loading and its dissimilation degree increases under higher stress levels. The stronger the stratification effect, the greater the dissimilation degree of the IRT field. The abnormal characteristic points of average infrared radiation temperature(AIRT) variance at local stress drop and peak stress can be used as early and late precursors to identify fracture instability. Theoretical analysis shows that the competitive relationship between compaction strengthening and fracturing damage intensifies the dissimilation of the infrared thermal field for an increasing stress level. The present study provides a theoretical reference for disaster warnings in hard sedimentary rock mass.

Influences of non-isothermal atmospheric backgrounds on variations of gravity wave parameters

Because of the importance of gravity waves （GWs） in coupling different atmospheric regions, further studies are necessary to investigate the characteristics of GW propagation in a non-isothermal atmosphere. Using a nonlinear numerical model, we simulate the propagation of small amplitude GWs with various wavelengths in different non-isothermal atmospheres. Our re- sults show that the GW vertical wavelength undergoes sharp changes above the stratopause and mesopause region. Specifically for a GW with an initial vertical wavelength of 5 km, the seasonal background temperature structure difference at 50° latitude can cause the vertical wavelength to vary by -2 krn in the mesosphere and by as large as -4.5 km in the lower thermosphere. In addition, the GW paths exhibit great divergence in the height range of -65-110 kin. Our results also show that the variations of GW path, vertical wavelength and horizontal phase velocity are not synchronized in a non-isothermal atmosphere as in an isothermal atmosphere. Despite the fact that all GWs change their characteristics as they propagate upward in a non-isothermal atmosphere, the variations relative to the initial parameters at a reference height are similar for different initial vertical wavelengths. Our results indicate that the changing characteristics of a gravity wave in a non-isothermal atmosphere need to be considered when investigating the relationship of GWs at two different heights.

The analysis of gales over the “Maritime Silk Road” with remote sensing data

The 21st century ＂Maritime Silk Road＂ strategy is a significant part of the belt and road initiatives of China. The cognition and investigation of ocean environment is essential and necessary in these regions which will provide scientific reference for many fields such as navigation, ocean engineering, and disaster prevent and reduction. A high-resolution cross-calibrated multi-platform wind product is used to analyze gales over the Maritime Silk Road. The yearly mean speed and space distribution of gale, and the frequencies and trends of gale and extreme wind speed are analyzed. The results show that relatively high pools of gale are mainly located in the waters of the Arabian Sea, the Somali Sea, Indo-China Peninsula sea area, and Bay of Bengal in the summer. The gale frequency of the Somali Sea is more than 90%. Overall, the gale days increase year by year in the majority of the South China Sea and the northern Indian Ocean, especially in the autumn and the winter.
