Obesity and overweight are prevalent in saudi arabia (24.95% & 31.80%). Also, childhood obesity in the country is a challenge, with 6% - 10% of preschool and school-age children. The burden of being overweight and obese is disastrous. Therefore, the saudi Diabetes Scientific Society constituted a team to develop a guideline. The team reviewed the local Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Prevention and Management of Obesity in saudi arabia;and conducted a rigorous review of relevant evidence-based scientific literature. After a thorough assessment, a consensus was reached to use the Australian guideline as the main guideline to be adapted and localized to be suitable for the saudi people. To avoid duplication of efforts, the team adopted the grading of evidence used by the Australian guideline. The updated version was presented in a workshop, and the recommendation of the participants was included. The final draft was distributed for review, and comments were included. This document presents the result of such an effort as a local guideline.

This study examines the trade-led growth(TLG)hypothesis for the Kingdom of saudi *** time-series annual data for the period 1985-2019,the ARDL approach and Toda-Yamamoto Granger causality test are applied to accomplish the *** ARDL estimation reveals that trade openness positively causes economic growth in both the long and short run,and the TLG hypothesis is found valid for the *** Toda-Yamamoto Granger causality test results have evidenced several unidirectional *** them,trade openness causes economic growth and supports the ARDL finding and hence the TLG hypothesis for the ***,trade openness causes gross fixed capital formation,and the labor force stimulates both economic growth and trade *** findings recommend that the Kingdom may increase its trade to reap further benefits and enhance its income growth.

Functional behavior assessment(FBA)and behavioral intervention plans(BIPs)can be effective for students with attention deﬁcit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD);however,teachers may face difﬁculties when implementing FBA procedures and,in turn,BIPs because of lack of time,insufﬁcient training,and multiplicity of ***,it is important to identify the difﬁculties teachers may face and the obstacles that can deter them from implementing intervention *** is a worthwhile endeavor because nearly all classrooms will have students with behavioral problems who will beneﬁt from speciﬁcally designed educational *** study aimed to identify the difﬁculties in applying FBA and the barriers in implementing BIPs among saudi teachers in specialized ADHD *** the descriptive-analytical approach,a questionnaire targeting difﬁculties and barriers was admi-nistered to 209 public school teachers from specialized ADHD programs in saudi *** results revealed that the difﬁculty level of applying FBA in ADHD programs was *** level of barriers in implementing BIPs was ***,the study indicated that barriers in implementing BIPs could be predicted by the difﬁculties of applying *** results suggest the importance ofﬁnding better practices,restructuring the provision of ADHD programs,training teachers,improving assessment tool availability,and ensuring cooperation between school administrators and teachers.

The eruption of the novel Covid-19 has changed the socio-economic conditions of the *** escalating number of infections and deaths seriously threatened human health when it became a pandemic from an *** developed into an alarming situation when the World Health Organization(WHO)declared a health emergency in MARCH *** geographic settings and weather conditions are systematically linked to the spread of the *** concentration of population and weather attributes remains vital to study a pandemic such as *** current work aims to explore the relationship of the population,weather conditions(humidity and temperature)with the reported novel Covid-19 cases in the Kingdom of saudi arabia(KSA).For the study,the data for the reported Covid-19 cases was secured from 11 March 2020,to 21 July 2020(132 days)from the 13 provinces of *** Governorate level data was used to estimate the population data.A Geographic information system(GIS)analysis was utilised to visualise the *** results suggested that a significant correlation existed between the population and Covid-19 *** the weather conditions,the data for the 13 provinces of KSA for the same period was utilised to estimate the relationship between the weather conditions and Covid-19 ***’s rank correlation results confirmed that the humidity was significantly linked with the reported cases of Covid-19 in Makkah,Aseer,Najran,and Al Baha *** temperature had a significant relation with the reported Covid-19 cases in Al-Riyad,Makkah,Al-Madinah,Aseer,Najran,and *** inconsistency of the results highlighted the variant behavior of Covid-19 in different regions of the *** exploration is required beyond the weather-related *** for future research and policy direction are offered at the end of the study.

This study aims to explore the challenges and opportunities associated with developing healthcare infrastructure in saudi arabia through the implementation of smart technologies. The healthcare sector in saudi arabia is undergoing significant transformation, and the integration of smart technologies has the potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the overall healthcare experience. However, several challenges need to be addressed in order to fully leverage the benefits of smart technologies in healthcare infrastructure development. This research identifies and analyzes these challenges while also highlighting the opportunities that arise from the adoption of smart technologies in the saudi arabian healthcare system. The findings contribute to the understanding of the current state of healthcare infrastructure in saudi arabia and provide insights into the strategies and policies required to overcome challenges and maximize the benefits of smart technologies in healthcare.

Given that many cities in saudi arabia have been observing rapid urbanization since the 1990s,scarce studies on the spatial pattern of urban expansion in saudi arabia have been ***,the present study investigates the evidence of land use and land cover(LULC)dynamics and urban sprawl in Abha City of saudi arabia,which has been experiencing rapid urbanization,from the past to the future using novel and sophisticated *** SVM classifier was used in this study to classify the LULC maps for 1990,2000,and *** LULC dynamics between 1990–2000,2000–2018,and 1990–2018 have been analyzed using delta()change and the Markovian transitional probability *** sprawl or urban expansion was modeled using two approaches,such as landscape fragmentation and presence frequency for the first *** future LULC map for 2028 was predicted using the artificial neural network-cellular automata model(ANN-CA).Future LULC was analyzed using landscape fragmentation and frequency *** results of LULC maps showed that urban areas increased by 334.4%between 1990 and *** Delta change rate showed that 16.34%in urban areas has increased since ***,the transitional probability matrix between 1990 and 2018 reported that the built-up area is the largest stable LULC,having an 83.6%transitional probability *** 17.9%,21.8%,12.4%,and 10.5%of agricultural land,scrubland,exposed rocks,and water bodies were transformed into built-up *** sprawl models showed that 139 km^(2)of new urban areas had been set up in 2018,49 and 69 km^(2)in 1990 and ***,in 2018,more than 200%of urban areas were stabilized or became core urban *** future LULC map(2028)showed that the built-up area would be 343.72 km^(2),followed by scrubland(342.98 km^(2))and sparse vegetation(89.96 km^(2)).The new urban area in 2028 would be 169 km^(2).The authorities and planners should focus more on the sustainable development of urban areas;otherwise,it would

Background: Keratoconus (KC) causes visual disability in young adults. To improve its early detection and compliance, improving the awareness of patients and their relatives is crucial. We present the level of awareness about KC among the adult population of western saudi arabia and its determinants. Methods: This web-based survey was carried out from June to August 2020 in urban and semi-urban areas in western saudi arabia. Demographic and eye ailment profiles were collected. To generate responses on the presentation, causes, management and prevention of KC, a five-point Likert scale was used. The logit values were calculated and graded into good and poor awareness. Awareness was associated with other determinants. Results: We surveyed 420 saudi adults. The median logit score of awareness about KC among participants was 2.86 (inter quartile range (IQR) 0.86;2.95). The median score of knowledge about the causes and presentation of KC was 2.86 (IQR 1.1;2.86) and for management, it was 0.00 (IQR 0.00;0.18). The level of awareness was good in 286 participants (68.1%) and poor in 134 (31.9%). Residents of major cities (P Conclusions: Awareness about the presentation, causes and management of KC was good in two-thirds of adults but with some variation. Strategies to involve the community and stress health education need to be urgently implemented. Campaigns should target the male and semi-urban population in western saudi arabia.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence of container breeding mosquitoes with emphasis on the seasonality and larval habitats of Aedes aegypti(***) in Makkah City,adjoining an environmental monitoring and dengue ***:Monthly visits were performed between April 2008 and March 2009 to randomly selected *** each visit,mosquito larvae were collected from indoors and outdoors containers by either dipping or pipetting. Mosquitoes were morphologically *** on temperature,relative humidity,rain/ precipitations during the survey period was retrieved from governmental sources and analyzed. Results:The city was warmer in dry season(DS) than wet season(WS).No rain occurred at all during DS and even precipitations did fall,wetting events were much greaterduring *** survey revealed the co-breeding of Aedes,Culex and Anopheles in a variety of artificial containers in and around homes.32109 larvae representing 1st,2nd,3rd,and 4th stages were collected from 22618 container *** was far the commonest and Aedes genus was as numerous as the Culex *** larval abundance exhibited marked temporal variations,overall, being usually more abundant during *** types of artificial containers were found with developing larvae.70%of these habitats were located indoors.71.42%of indoor containers were permanent and 28.58* was semi-permanent during *** tanks was the only container type permanent during *** larval indices(CI,HI,Bl) recorded were greater during WS. Conclusions:Taken together,these results indicate a high risk of dengue transmission in the holy city.

Introduction: Keratoconus (KCN) is one of the degenerative corneal disorders, which causes impairment in normal visual acuity with a higher prevalence in saudi arabia. The study aimed to assess the awareness and knowledge regarding KCN, its risk factors, and management among the saudi population. Materials and Methods: A survey was conducted using a pre-tested and validated questionnaire distributed through online platforms. A mixture of convenience and snowball sampling techniques was adopted for sample collection. Our analysis included a final sample size of 837 participant responses. The questionnaire had items related to sociodemographic characteristics (5 items), knowledge (10 items), and source of information (1 item). The mean knowledge scores were calculated and categorized (good, fair, and poor) to assess each participant’s knowledge. Pearson’s chi-square test was used to determine the statistical association between categorical variables. Results: The mean knowledge score was found to be 4.12 ± 2.6, and 67.5% of the participants showed “poor” scores. There was no statistically significant association of knowledge scores observed with any of the sociodemographic details. It was agreed by 76% and 42.5% that genetic predisposition and chronic eye inflammation could predispose to KCN. Only 38.1% (n = 157) agreed that KCN could be treated with optical glasses or contact lenses in the initial stages. Conclusion: The knowledge regarding KCN was not satisfactory among our study population. There is a need to create an increased level of awareness for KCN. Health awareness programs and community campaigns should be organized to raise awareness regarding KCN and better eye health care utilization.
