Rodent Ecology and Etiological Investigation in China:Results from vector biology Surveillance—Shandong Province,China,2012–2022

Introduction:Rodents are hosts of a wide range of zoonotic disease pathogens which threaten human ***,comprehensive investigations of rodent ecology and etiology in Shandong are ***,we aimed to analyze rodent ecology and infection with relevant pathogens in Shandong Province,***:Rodent survey data collected from 2012 to 2022 in Shandong Province were used in this *** captured from 2020 to 2022 were identified to species and tested for ***:From 2012 to 2022,4,145 rodents were captured,with an average capture rate of 0.70%.High capture rates were observed in rural residential areas and other habitats,such as farmland and *** norvegicus(***)was the dominant species,followed by Mus musculus(***).The regions with the highest capture rates of *** were Dongying(0.82%)and Heze(0.63%),while *** was more prevalent in Dongying(0.81%)and Weihai(0.56%).Rodent capture rates were highest between March and *** positive detection rates of Hantavirus(HV),Leptospira interrogans(***),Rickettsia typhi(***),Anaplasma phagocytophilum(***),and Francisella tularensis(***)in rodents were 2.58%,1.10%,0.94%,0.16%,and 0.19%,***:The rodent capture rate in human habitation environments has trended downward in Shandong Province,with *** and *** being the dominant *** infection risk from HV,***,and *** showed seasonal *** rodent surveillance and maintaining a low capture rate of host animals could be pivotal for preventing and controlling relevant rodent-borne diseases in high-risk areas.

Complex interactions among insect viruses-insect vector-arboviruses

Insects are the host or vector of diverse viruses including those that infect vertebrates,plants,and *** viruses reside inside their insect hosts and are vertically transmitted from parent to *** insect virus-host relationship is intricate,as these viruses can impact various aspects of insect biology,such as development,reproduction,sex ratios,and ***-borne viruses(arboviruses)that cause substantial global health or agricultural problems can also be vertically transmitted to insect vector *** infections with insect viruses and arboviruses are common in *** coinfections involve complex interactions,including synergism,dependence,and *** studies have shed light on the influence of insect viruses on the competence of insect vectors for *** this review,we focus on the biological effects of insect viruses on the transmission of arboviruses by *** also discuss the potential mechanisms by which insect viruses affect the ability of hosts to transmit arboviruses,as well as potential strategies for disease control through manipulation of insect *** of the interactions among insect vectors,insect viruses and arboviruses will provide new opportunities for development of innovative strategies to control arbovirus transmission.

Leafhopper salivary carboxylesterase suppresses JA-Ile synthesis to facilitate initial arbovirus transmission in rice phloem

Plant jasmonoyl-L-isoleucine(JA-Ile)is a major defense signal against insect feeding,but whether or how insect salivary effectors suppress JA-Ile synthesis and thus facilitate viral transmission in the plant phloem remains *** carboxylesterases(CarEs)are the third major family of detoxification ***,we identify a new leafhopper CarE,CarE10,that is specifically expressed in salivary glands and is secreted into the rice phloem as a saliva *** CarE10 directly binds to rice jasmonate resistant 1(JAR1)and promotes its degradation by the proteasome ***,the direct association of CarE10 with JAR1 clearly impairs JAR1 enzyme activity for conversion of JA to JA-Ile in an in vitro JAIle synthesis system.A devastating rice reovirus activates and promotes the co-secretion of virions and CarE10 via virus-induced vesicles into the saliva-storing salivary cavities of the leafhopper vector and ultimately into the rice phloem to establish initial ***,a virus-mediated increase in CarE10 secretion or overexpression of CarE10 in transgenic rice plants causes reduced levels of JAR1 and thus suppresses JA-Ile synthesis,promoting host attractiveness to insect vectors and facilitating initial viral *** findings provide insight into how the insect salivary protein CarE10 suppresses host JA-Ile synthesis to promote initial virus transmission in the rice phloem.

The article describes ethylene polymerization reactions with transition metal catalysts based on complexes of CoCl_(2) and FeCl_(2) with an N,N,N-tridentate ligand 2,6-bis[1-(2,6-dimethylphenylimino)ethyl]pyridine. The complexes are converted into polymerization catalysts by reacting them either with polymethylalumoxane (MAO) or with a combination of Al(C2H5)2Cl and Mg(C4H9)2 at an [Al]:[Mg] ratio of ~3. Both MAO-activated complexes readily polymerize ethylene at 35 ℃ with the formation of linear, low molecular weight polymers with a narrow molecular weight distribution. The same complexes, when activated with the Al(C2H5)2Cl-Mg(C4H9)2 combination, form multi-center catalysts and generate polyethylenes with a broad molecular weight distribution.

Schistosomiasis transmission in Zimbabwe:Modelling based on machine learning
