In this study,a sandwich-type uranium(Ⅵ)-containing silicotungstate KNa11H2(H2O)30[Na(UO2)(SiW9O34)]2·8H2O(1)with new three-dimensional(3D)structure was synthesized and characterized using single-crystal X-ray diffraction,Fourier transform infrared,Raman,solid-state ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflection spectra,thermogravimetric analysis and powder X-ray diffraction.Single crystal analysis revealed that the Na(I)-H2O clusters in 1 showed a two-dimensional structure similar to(4,4)-network and resulted in the formation of a new 3D structure of 1.In addition,it was notable that 1 presented excellent catalytic activity for the synthesis of substituted phenylsulfonyl-1H-pyrazoles via the cyclization reaction of 1,3-diketones with various substituted benzenesulfonyl hydrazides.

Amid the current evolving global political and economic landscape, the digital economy has achieved a positive momentum in BRICS countries. Emerging technologies ranging from big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things to artificial intelligence(AI) have maintained a dynamic development. New phenomena such as “new retail” and “new manufacturing” are persistently changing people's daily lives and gradually influencing human values and notions in social governance. BRICS countries have accelerated the innovation and development of the digital economy by constantly improving relevant cooperation mechanisms. “Digital BRICS” has already become an important force to promote world economic growth and enhance the reform of the global economic governance system. The development of the digital economy per se has unique characteristics. Thus, BRICS countries are faced with practical challenges in deepening cooperation. Particularly, they must reconsider the national security risks created by the transnational diffusion of technologies and the implications for the international order stemming from the excessive expansion of the power of digital giants. BRICS countries can continue to bridge differences and divergences among each other by strengthening functional cooperation in joint efforts to create greater room for shared digital benefits and open up a new future for the digital economy characterized by harmony, cooperation, and coexistence.

How has the informality of urban slums exposed a gap in policy formulation and research questions in the wake of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic?This paper seeks to identify the appropriate questions and policy frame that would assist future researchers and policymakers on the subject of pandemics in densely populated urban settlements.The authors argue that the nexus between asking the appropriate questions and developing appropriate policy response measures during a pandemic can significantly impact the outcome of the response.The paper examines how the government of Kenya's response to the COVID-19 pandemic reveals a deep-rooted socio-economic and cultural inequality when"blanket"policies are adopted without taking into consideration the tnique dynamics characterizing the society.The findings show that the effectiveness of implementing COVID-19 containment policies such as lockdowns,the cession of movement,working from home,distance learning,and social distancing are affected by other factors such as the nature of jobs,one's income levels,where someone lives,cultural beliefs,access to water,sanitation,intemet,and medical facilities.This means that a significant number of people within the society experience a double tragedy from the pandemic and impact of government response measures.Yet most of the existing literature has focused on the causes,spread,and impact of the pandemic on health institutions,economies,and public health with little emphasis on the impact on policy measures especially on the vulnerable segments of the society.This paper,therefore,looks at the question of how the various public health intervention strategies disrupt or construct the livelihood of the already complex informal settlement.It provides policymakers and researchers with a number of questions that can frame policy and research during a pandemic with important consideration to urban informality.

The year 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the dissolution of the Soviet Union and russia’s transition from a planned to a market economy.It is also the 25th anniversary of the announcement of a strategic partnership of cooperation between China and russia and the 20th anniversary of the signing of the China-russia Treaty of Good Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation.Therefore,2021 is especially important both in terms of the development of contemporary russia and the evolution of China-russia relations.As the transitional economy of a great power,the russian economy has distinctive characteristics;analysis of its economic transition and development over the past thirty years since the collapse of the Soviet Union,and especially in the period since Putin took office,is of immediate significance for observing the development of the russian economy.At present,the profound changes the world is undergoing and alterations in the external environment present increasing uncertainties and obstacles to China-russia economic and trade cooperation.This paper introduces the present state of China-russia economic and trade cooperation and analyzes the new challenges and opportunities for future bilateral cooperation.

The Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC)is the most important economic,energy and political coalition in the Middle East.The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation(SCO)is the most influential Eurasian political and economic bloc.In the vicissitude international situation,the SCO is expanding westward;Qatar and Saudi Arabia have become the partners of dialogue;Bahrain,Kuwait and the UAE have applied for being partners for dialogue.Likewise,the GCC is looking eastward,exploring cooperation with russia within the framework of‘OPEC+’,with China in‘China-GCC Summit and China-GCC Strategic Dialogue’,and with India within the framework of I2U2(Israel,India,United States and the United Arab Emirates).The‘SCO+GCC+’cooperation mechanism is inclusive,compatible with the US,European and the NATO’s military engagement with the GCC,which will open a new ground for bilateral cooperation and multilateral interaction between East Asia,South Asia,Central Asia,North Asia and West Asia,conducive to building‘an Asian community of shared future’in the long run.

Spatial Interaction Network Analysis of Crude Oil Trade relations between Countries along the Belt and Road

Based on the theories and methods of complex network,crude oil trade flows between countries along the Belt and Road(B&R,hereafter)are inserted into the Geo-space of B&R and form a spatial interaction network which takes the countries as nodes and takes the trade relations as edges.The networked mining and evolution analysis can provide important references for the research on trade relations among the B&R countries and the formulation of trade policy.This paper researches and discusses the construction,statistical analysis,top networks and stability of the crude oil trade network between the B&R countries from 2001 to 2020 from the perspectives of Geo-Computation for social sciences(GCSS)and spatial interaction.Firstly,evolutions of out-degree,in-degree,out-strength and in-strength of the top 10 countries in the crude oil trade network are computed and analyzed.Secondly,the top network method is used to explore the evolution characteristics of hierarchical structures.And finally,the sequential evolution characteristics of the crude oil trade network stability are analyzed utilizing the network stability measure method based on the trade relationship autocorrelation function.The analysis results show that russia has the largest out-degree and out-strength,and China has the largest in-degree and in-strength.The crude oil trade volume of the top 10 import and export networks between 2001—2020 accounts for over 90%of the total trade volume of the crude oil trade network,and the proportion remains relatively stable.However,the stability of the network showed strong fluctuations in 2009,2012 and 2014,which may be closely related to major international events in these years,which could furtherly be used to build a correlation model between network volatility and major events.This paper explores how to construct and analyze the spatial interaction network of crude oil trade and can provide references for trade relations research and trade policy formulation of B&R countries.

The question of the relationship between science and morality today is particular relevance. Modern science, as a result of the intensification of the globalization process and the rapid development of technologies affecting human existence, can no longer remain "value-neutral". Changes in science makes humanity increasingly think about its existence. And in this regard, it no longer only allows, but also requires the scientific community to rethink and include new, modern moral imperatives in the scientific work of scientists. The problem of not only morality, but also social responsibility of scientists for the results of their scientific discoveries is being actualized. Awareness of the real danger of an ecological catastrophe stimulates the search for new values and ethical regulators of their activities. The role and importance of respecting the ecological imperative is growing, since following the scientific community to this imperative will help not only to preserve the environment, but also to harmonize relations in the "human-nature" system. For the author, the disclosure of this issue is possible in the profession of agronomist. Compliance with ethical norms and principles, including the co-evolutionary imperative, set the conditions for the creation and development of a professional ethical code in the field of agronomy, the introduction of new standards and behavioral patterns of scientists’ agronomists in the modern world.

In response to the outbreak of COVID-19 that has been sweeping the world,scientists reconstructed the SARSCoV-2 rapidly using a synthetic genomics platform,in order to accelerate therapeutics and vaccine development.However,given the dual-use nature of this technology,there exists a high biosecurity risk.This paper points out the potential risks of the engineering SARS-CoV-2 virus and puts forward 6 questions to this work.The authors emphasize that the two basic values of safety/security and intellectual freedom of research must be considered evenly.From the perspective of responsible development of biotechnology,this paper calls for a careful assessment to the risks of the technology,replacing risky technologies with safe ones.The risks of publication also need to be strictly assessed.The authors believe,in addition to enhancing the“self-government”and self-discipline of scientists and scientific communities,government supervision must be reinforced,laws and regulations should be improved,and global regulation framework ought to be constructed.

The Overpaid and Underpaid:A Comparison of Labor Costs in Nonprofit and For-Profit Service Organizations

The comparison between nonprofit and for-profit organizations has been a lingering question for scholars and practitioners.This research explores employee wage differentials across sectors using a national sample of child care workforce.After controlling for a range of individual,occupational,organizational,and community factors,this research reports a significant wage premium for nonprofit child care teachers.In addition,this study finds evidence for both the labor donation and property rights hypotheses,but the property rights theory demonstrates comparatively stronger explanatory power.Although individuals with stronger intrinsic motivation are more willing to donate labor for charitable outputs,inefficient management in nonprofits actually sets wage levels over the market level.Overall,the study highlights nonprofits*comparative advantage in employee motivation but disadvantage in efficient management.The findings have implications for public and nonprofit management.
