Authors introduction： Qian Zhan, female, who was born in Sept, 1979. She studied in the Shanghai Second Medical University during 1998 to 2005. She majored in Clinical Medicine, and earned her master degree in 2005. In 2005, she went to the Beaujon Hospital of Paris 7th Universit3. in France, as a foreign intern. Later, she came to postgraduate work and residencies in the general surgery department of Shanghai ruijin Hospital. Her clinical work is focused on multidisciplinary especially postoperative management for the patients with pancreatic cancer. In addition, she is a lead researcher in the pancreatic cancer group for nano based drug delivery, systems. Chenghong Peng, male, who was born in Apr, 1957. He worked in the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine during 1989 to 2002. In 2002, Chenghong Peng came m Shanghai Ruiiin Hospital and began to take charge of general surgery department. As a pioneer in the hepatobifiopancreatic field, Chenghong Peng devoted himself in the basic and clinical research of pancreatic tmnors. He brings forth new ideas by creating ＂Pancreatic multiple treatment collaborating groups＂, which integrate the advantages of gasn＇oenterology, department, endoscopy department, radiology department, pathology deparnnent and SICU. He constantly strives for excellence in pancreatic surgery. In the previous five years, he performed more than 300 cases of pancreatectomy each year, and has accomplished more than 2,000 cases of pancreatectomy altogether, among which the resectable rate is 74%. Besides, he is also committed to laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgeD,. He has achieved more than 200 laparoscopic hepatectomies, 150 laparoscopic pancreatectomies and 500 robotic hepatobiliopancreatic surgeries （350 robotic pancreatic surgeries included）, which keeps leading position in China. In 2011, Chenghong Peng has won the first prize in 3rd international congress of CRSA, which marked that our achievement in robotic surgery

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of mycophenolate mofetil(MMF)or tacrolimus(TAC)compared with azathioprine(AZA)as maintenance therapy for active lupus nephritis(ALN).Patients with ALN who responded to 24 weeks of induction treatment were *** who received MMF or TAC as induction therapy continued MMF or TAC treatment during the maintenance period,whereas those who received intravenous cyclophosphamide were subjected to AZA *** primary endpoint was the incidence of renal *** endpoints included extrarenal flares and composite endpoints(deaths,end-stage renal disease,or doubling of serum creatinine levels).A total of 123 ALN patients(47 in the MMF group,37 in the TAC group,and 39 in the AZA group)were *** median follow-up time was 60 *** MMF-treated patients,ten TAC-treated patients,and eight AZA-treated patients experienced renal relapses(P=0.844).The cumulative renal relapse rates in the MMF group(P=0.934)and TAC group(P=0.673)were similar to the renal relapse rate in the AZA *** significant difference in the incidence of severe adverse event was observed among the ***-term maintenance therapies with MMF or TAC might have similarly low rates of renal relapse and similar safety profiles compared with AZA.

AIM:To investigate the occurrence of postoperative complications of gastric cancer surgery,and analyze the potential causes of reoperation for early postoperative complications. METHODS:A total of 1639 patients who underwent radical or palliative gastrectomies for gastric cancer were included in the *** study endpoint was the analysis of postoperative complications in inpatients. RESULTS:About 31%of patients had early postoperative complications,and complications of infection occurred most ***-abdominal hemorrhage and anastomotic leak were the main causes of reoperation,which accounted for about 2.2%.Mortality was 11.1%in the reoperation group,but was only 0.8%in other *** duration of postoperative stay in hospital was significantly longer and the total expenditure was markedly higher in the patients who underwent reoperation(P<0.001).There was no significant association of any available factors in this study with the high rate of ***:Reoperation significantly increases the mortality rate and raises the burden of the surgical *** prospective studies are required to explore the potential risk factors.

Pancreatic cancer,one of the most aggressive malignancies,has no effective treatment due to the lack of targets and drugs related to tumour ***6 can promote the migration of pancreatic cancer and could be a potential target for antimetastasis of pancreatic ***,highly selective and potency SIRT6 inhibitor that can be used in vivo is yet to be ***,we developed a noveSIRT6 allosteric inhibitor,compound 11e,with maximal inhibitory potency and an IC_(50) value of 0.98±0.13μmol/***,compound 11e exhibited significant selectivity against other histone deacetylases(HADC1-11 and SIRT1-3)at concentrations up to 100μmol/*** allosteric site and the molecular mechanism of inhibition were extensively elucidated by cocrystal complex structure and dynamic structural ***,we confirmed the antimetastatic function of such inhibitors in four pancreatic cancer cell lines as well as in two mouse models of pancreatic cancer liver *** our knowledge,this is the first study to reveal the in vivo effects of SIRT6 inhibitors on liver metastatic pancreatic *** not only provides a promising lead compound for subsequent inhibitor developmentargeting SIRT6 but also provides a potential approach to address the challenge of metastasis in pancreatic cancer.

Effect of Y-27632 on the cultured retinal neurocytes of rats

AIM:To investigate the effect of Y-27632 on the survival and neurite outgrowth of the cultured retinal neurocytes. METHODS:After the postnatal day 2-3, Sprague-Dawley retinal neurocytes were cultured for 48 hours, the culture media was replaced with serum-free media (control group) and serum-free media contained 30μmol/L Y-27632 (Y-27632 group), and the cells were continually cultured another 48 hours. The cultured retinal neurocytes were identified with anti-neuron specific enolase (NSE) immunocytochemistry. The survival state of those cells was estimated by MTT assay, and the neurite outgrowth of those cells was evaluated by the computerized image-analysis system. RESULTS:Compared with the control group, the absorbance values of cells survival in Y -27632 group increased 12.90% and 33.33% respectively after 72 and 96 hours culture. Y-27632 had no significant effect on the diameter of cultured retinal neurocytes. Compared with the control group, Y-27632 induced a stable improvement of neurite outgrowth of retinal neurocytes after 72 and 96 hours culture (P =0.001). CONCLUSION:Y-27632 could promote the survival and neurite outgrowth of the early postnatal cultured retinal neurocytes.

The last two decades of the twentieth century have witnessed increasingly successful rates of liver transplantation. The number of liver transplantations has increased steadily while the number of organ donors has remained relatively constant. Thus a great disparity has developed between the demand and supply of donor organs and remains a major limiting factor for further expansion of liver transplantation. Although many procedures, such as split liver[1] , living-related transplantation[2] , and xenotransplantation[3], have been attempted clinically to overcome the shortage, it is hoped that livers harvested from non-heart-beating donors (NHBDs) would alleviatethe problem of organ shortage, which again becomes the focus of attention[4-9]. However, sensitivity of the liver to warm ischemia remains a major worry for use of theNHBDs. The aim of this animal study was to assess if murine liver could tolerate prolonged period of warm ischemia and to determine the optimum timing of intervention in the cadaver donor in order to preserve liver viability.

Strategies in comprehensive therapy for gastrointestinal (GI) cancer have been optimized in the last decades to improve patients, outcomes. However, treatment options remain limited for late-stage or refractory diseases. The efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) for treatment of refractory GI cancer has been confirmed by randomized clinical trials. In 2017, pembrolizumab was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration as the first agent for treatment of metastatic solid tumors with mismatch repair deficiency, especially for colorectal cancer. Given the different mechanisms, oncologists have focused on determining whether ICIs-based combination strategies could achieve higher efficacy than conventional therapy alone in late-stage or even front-line treatment of GI cancer. This review discusses the current status of combining immune checkpoint inhibitors with molecular targeted therapy, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy in GI cancer in terms of mechanisms, safety, and efficacy to provide basis for future research.
