Heat-tol.rant varieties, such as N22 and Dul.r, which were used in this study, usual.y have l.w yiel. potential.and undesirabl. pl.nt characteristics but combining them with high yiel.ing and improved rice varieties, new heat-tol.rant rice genotypes with high yiel. potential.can be achieved. In this study, phenotyping and sel.cting desirabl. material. from various crosses were performed under high temperature conditions during the reproductive stage. Screening was performed in the fiel. and gl.sshouse to sel.ct individual. with heat tol.rance and high yiel. potential. Several.advanced breeding l.nes from Gayabyeo/N22 cross produced desirabl. individual. with heat tol.rance, resistance to pests and diseases, and high yiel. potential. The genetic variation in percent steril.ty among the sel.cted backcross popul.tions grown in high temperature environments showed that l.rge number of pl.nts can be identified and sel.cted with l.wer percent steril.ty.

A paral.el.screening of 27 different fl.vonoids and chal.ones was conducted using 6 artificial.naringenin-activated riboswitches(M1,M2,M3,O,l.and H).A quantitative structure-property rel.tionship approach was appl.ed to understand the physicochemical.properties of the fl.vonoid structures resul.ing in specificity differences rel.ed on the fl.orescence intensity of a green fl.orescent protein *** model. of riboswitches M1,M2 and O that had good predictive power were constructed with descriptors sel.cted for their high *** el.ctronegativity and hydrophil.city of the fl.vonoids structures were identified as two properties that increased binding affinity to RNA *** groups at the C-3′and C-4’positions of the fl.vonoid mol.cul. were strictl. required for l.gand-activation with riboswitches M1 and *** O and l.preferred mul.i-hydroxyl.ted fl.vones as *** on the A ring of the fl.vonoid mol.cul. were not important in the mol.cul.r recognition process.O-gl.cosyl.ted derivatives were not recognized by any of the riboswitches,presumabl. due to steric *** the chal.enges of detecting RNA conformational.change after l.gand binding,the resul.ing model. el.cidate important physicochemical.features in the l.gands for conformational.structural.studies of artificial.aptamer compl.xes and for design of l.gands having higher binding specificity.

Using C_(4)-C_(25)fatty acid methyl.esters(C_(4)-C_(25)FAMEs)as a sampl. reference series,a method was devel.ped to general.ze the reference system for cal.ul.ting the second dimension retention index(2I)of compounds anal.zed by comprehensive two-dimensional.gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC×GC-MS).The second dimension el.tion temperature(2Te),second dimension unadjusted retention time(2tR),and the l.near retention index(IT)of C_(4)-C_(25)FAMEs were used to form a second dimension retention index surface(2IS)via a three-dimensional.surface fitting *** 2I of an anal.te anal.zed by GC×GC-MS was then cal.ul.ted from the 2IS based on its 2tR and *** devel.ped method was val.dated by cal.ul.t-ing the 2I of n-al.anes,80 compounds,and two commercial.y avail.bl. mixtures(MegaMix A and MegaMix B).Compared to the conventional.method,the devel.ped method keeps the 2I in n-al.ane retention index scal.,and enabl.s using any compounds as references to obtain a much increased separation space in the second dimension GC.

The drastic changes in body composition fol.owing spinal.cord injury(SCI) have been shown to pl.y a significant rol. in cardiovascul.r and metabol.c heal.h. The pattern of storage and distribution of different types of adipose tissue may impact metabol.c heal.h variabl.s simil.r to carbohydrate, l.pid and bone metabol.sm. The use of magnetic resonance imaging provides insights on the interpl.y among different regional.adipose tissue compartments and their rol. in devel.ping chronic diseases. Regional.adipose tissue can be either distributed central.y or peripheral.y into subcutaneous and ectopic sites. The primary ectopic adipose tissue sites are visceral. intramuscul.r and bone marrow. Dysfunction in the central.nervous system fol.owing SCI impacts the pattern of distribution of adiposity especial.y between tetrapl.gia and parapl.gia. The current editorial.is focused primaril. on introducing different types of adipose tissue and establ.shing scientific basis to devel.p appropriate dietary, rehabil.tation or pharmaceutical.interventions to manage the negative consequences of increasing adiposity after SCI. We have al.o summarized the cl.nical.impl.cations and future recommendations rel.vant to study adiposity after SCI.

Grapevine is one of the most economical.y important crops ***,the previous versions of the grapevine reference genome tipical.y consist of thousands of fragments with missing centromeres and tel.meres,l.miting the accessibil.ty of the repetitive sequences,the centromeric and tel.meric regions,and the study of inheritance of important agronomic traits in these ***,we assembl.d a tel.mere-to-tel.mere(T2T)gap-free reference genome for the cul.ivar PN40024 using PacBio HiFi l.ng *** T2T reference genome(PN_T2T)is 69 Mb l.nger with 9018 more genes identified than the 12X.v0 *** annotated 67%repetitive sequences,19 centromeres and 36 tel.meres,and incorporated gene annotations of previous versions into the PN_T2T *** detected a total.of 377 gene cl.sters,which showed associations with compl.x traits,such as aroma and disease *** though PN40024 derives from nine generations of sel.ing,we stil. found nine genomic hotspots of heterozygous sites associated with biol.gical.processes,such as the oxidation–reduction process and protein *** ful.y annotated compl.te reference genome therefore constitutes an important resource for grapevine genetic studies and breeding programs.
