A Stable and Consistent Document Model Suitable for Asynchronous Cooperative Edition

Complex structured documents can be intentionally represented as a tree structure decorated with attributes. Ignoring attributes (these are related to semantic aspects that can be treated separately from purely structural aspects which interest us here), in the context of a cooperative edition, legal structures are characterized by a document model (an abstract grammar) and each intentional representation can be manipulated independently and eventually asynchronously by several co-authors through various editing tools that operate on its “partial replicas”. For unsynchronized edition of a partial replica, considered co-author must have a syntactic document local model that constraints him to ensure minimum consistency of local representation that handles with respect to the global model. This consistency is synonymous with the existence of one or more (global) intentional representations towards the global model, assuming the current local representation as her/their partial replica. The purpose of this paper is to present the grammatical structures which are grammars that permit not only to specify a (global) model for documents published in a cooperative manner, but also to derive automatically via a so call projection operation, consistent (local) models for each co-authors involved in the cooperative edition. We also show some properties that meet these grammatical structures.

东、西方蜜蜂有着不同的降低巢温的策略。本文的目的是研究在混合饲养蜂群内两种蜜蜂的行为表现,看它们能否使群内温度达到稳定。结果显示在混合群育虫区温度更接近纯东方蜜蜂蜂群的温度。在加温条件下,东方蜜蜂工蜂更敏感而比西方蜜蜂先开始扇风降温。在混合群里,东方蜜蜂是温度调节的主要力量。当两种工蜂都在巢门口扇风,它们都有各自独特的姿态,但由于只有一小部分的西方蜜蜂工蜂参与扇风,混合群的降温效率更接近东方蜜蜂群。

In this study we explore the relationship between literature and comics,through the transcription of a literary text into comics,and we examine the contribution of a preceded intervention-familiarization with comics to the students’comics by drawing by hand and by creating them in the Cartoon Story Maker digital environment,aiming at comparing and evaluating the potential of the two *** review reveals that the majority of the educational studies referring to the use of comics in education and the creation of digital comics by students,sets objectives,mainly adjusted to the teaching subject or even to pedagogical *** the other hand,they completely bypass the theoretical agenda of comic books and do not ensure a more substantial acquaintance with the comic book itself and the conventions or the meaning making mechanisms of the ***,we decided to conduct this study in order to fill the gap in the existing *** to the findings,the preceding teaching intervention had been constructive but the digital tool’s technical restrictions prohibited the full making use of the acquired knowledge concerning the language of *** hand-made comics were more imaginative and detailed in certain statistically significant *** the relationship between the literary text and comics,the students adapted the literary language to the media specifications,remaining in both cases,mostly faithful to the main structure of the text.

The linked ideas that all members of society should only engage in monogamous relationships and that these should all be based on romantic love are decided outliers from a historical perspective. Despite this, there is a widespread contemporary belief that monogamy based on love is the most ethical and natural form of partnering for humans—mononormativism. It has long been accepted that our values influence how we frame and interpret scientific questions. In the article we ask, using the example of mononormativism, how does an individual’s sexual ethics influence how they pursue HIV epidemiology? Using a Social Intuitionalist theoretical framework, we argue that a belief in monogamy-as-normative has contributed to certain researchers dismissing the evidence that the generalized HIV epidemics in parts of Africa are due to higher rates of non-monogamy.

Solidification of materials to near net shape is one of the most commonly used and economical methods of manufacturing. Different industries impose different restrictions and design objectives on the solidification process. For example, single crystal growth requires a planar growth front whereas casting requires homogenous material distribution. There are various techniques to control the flow in the melt to achieve the required objectives. Magnetic field based techniques have become the most popular commercially used methods for solidification control. Unfortunately, these control methods (uniform magnetic field, rotating magnetic field) are restricted to conducting materials. The extension of magnetic control to non-conducting media is explored in this work. The application of a non-uniform magnetic field produces an extra distributed force term in the governing melt flow equations. This body force, along with the Lorenz force (for conducting media) can be used to effectively control solidification. The physics behind the application of a time varying magnetic gradient on the flow is discussed and a coupled set of equations governing the fluid flow, thermal, concentration and magnetic field evolution is determined. A computational method for the design of solidification is developed such that a prescribed characteristic during solidification is achieved. Various design objectives are considered. As an example, the cost functional is taken as the L norm of an expression representing the deviation of the velocity field in the melt region from conditions corresponding to convection-less growth. The adjoint method for the inverse design of continuum processes is adopted in this framework. A continuum adjoint system is derived to calculate the adjoint temperature, concentration and velocity such that the gradient of the cost functional can be expressed analytically. The cost functional is minimized using the conjugate gradient method with a finite element realization

This paper is a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of a particular methodology for uncovering dialectal morpho-syntactic variation. It outlines the challenges facing linguists on a project to document morpho-syntactic variation in Afrikaans in the Cape Provinces of South Africa as well as some novel data on the typology of expletives in Afrikaans. South Africa’s linguistic situation is precarious, rapidly changing and driven by underdevelopment. This poses particular challenges to the organization of a comparative dialectological survey at practical and methodological levels that are perhaps slightly different to the issues faced in European contexts where the methodology was *** preliminary results have uncovered previously unknown variation with respect to expletives.

In this study, synthesis of copper nanoparticles was performed using organoclay as a support to stabilize the nanoparticles. Organoclay amount was gradually increased, which had an effect on the morphology of the resultant nanoparticles. Low amount of organoclay added resulted in larger and agglomerated copper nanoparticles whereas increased amount of organoclay gave smaller sized nanoparticles. The hybrid materials were characterized using the SEM and TEM for morphology, XRD and FT-IR spectroscopy for structural elucidation, thermal analysis using TGA and also studying their antibacterial effect on the two well-known gram negative bacteria of E. coli and P. Aeruginosa. The synthesized nanoparticles were found to be crystalline Cu nanoparticles with a mix of CuO. Larger sized copper nanoparticles and agglomerates showed the higher thermal behaviour as compared with smaller nanoparticles with higher organoclay loading. The hybrid showed an improved antibacterial activity as compared with organoclay alone. The hybrid showed the higher antibacterial effect against the P. aeruginosa microorganism as compared with the E. coli microorganism.
