Numerical Modeling and Technico-Economic Analysis of a Hybrid Energy Production System for Self-Consumption: Case of Rural Area in the Comoros

This study aims to provide electricity to a remote village in the Union of Comoros that has been affected by energy problems for over 40 years. The study uses a 50 kW diesel generator, a 10 kW wind turbine, 1500 kW photovoltaic solar panels, a converter, and storage batteries as the proposed sources. The main objective of this study is to conduct a detailed analysis and optimization of a hybrid diesel and renewable energy system to meet the electricity demand of a remote area village of 800 to 1500 inhabitants located in the north of Ngazidja Island in Comoros. The study uses the Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable (HOMER) Pro to conduct simulations and optimize the analysis using meteorological data from Comoros. The results show that hybrid combination is more profitable in terms of margin on economic cost with a less expensive investment. With a diesel cost of $1/L, an average wind speed of 5.09 m/s and a solar irradiation value of 6.14 kWh/m2/day, the system works well with a proportion of renewable energy production of 99.44% with an emission quantity of 1311.407 kg/year. 99.2% of the production comes from renewable sources with an estimated energy surplus of 2,125,344 kWh/year with the cost of electricity (COE) estimated at $0.18/kWh, presenting a cost-effective alternative compared to current market rates. These results present better optimization of the used hybrid energy system, satisfying energy demand and reducing the environmental impact.

This present study aimed to determine the efficacy of supplementing layer diets with vitamin A(0, 8,000 and16,000 IU/kg diet) and vitamin E(0, 250 and 500 mg/kg diet) either individually or in combination on egg production and quality, and blood hematology and chemistry of birds reared under summer conditions. A total of 135 Bovans Brown laying hens were distributed to 9 treatment groups with 5 replicates of 3 hens/pen in a 3 × 3 factorial design. A significant improvement in feed conversion ratio(FCR) was observed as supplementary vitamin A or E increased(P 0.01). Hens fed diets supplemented with 16,000 IU vitamin A plus 500 mg vitamin E/kg diet had the best FCR among all groups. Egg quality traits were not significantly affected by the interaction of vitamin A and vitamin E levels. There was a significant increase in monocytes(P ≤ 0.01)and a decrease in basophils counts(P ≤ 0.05) in response to vitamin E. Significant decreases were observed in packed cell volume(PCV), thyroxine(T_4), alanine transferase(ALT), albumin, total cholesterol and total lipids((P ≤ 0.05 or P ≤ 0.01) P 0.01), and increases were observed in serum concentrations of globulin(P ≤ 0.05)and calcium(P ≤ 0.01) due to vitamin A. The combination of 0 IU vitamin A and 500 mg vitamin E/kg diet had the highest values of PCV(40.09%) and hemoglobin(Hb)(10.33 mg/100 mL) among all groups. Vitamin E raised serum values of total protein, total cholesterol and total lipids(P ≤ 0.05 or P≤ 0.01). Feed intake, FCR,PCV, Hb, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, T_4, ALT and total protein were significantly affected by the interaction of vitamins A and E(P ≤ 0.05 or P ≤ 0.01). The interaction of vitamins A and E was only significant with respect to serum total protein(P ≤ 0.05). It can be concluded that layer diets supplemented with vitamins A and E had good results in alleviating the harmful impacts of high ambient temperature. Constraints on the utilization of cereal straw in lactating dairy cows:A review from the perspective of systems biology

Controlling collective electronic states hold great promise for development of innovative devices. Here, we experimentally detect the modification of the charge density wave(CDW) phase transition within a 1T-TaS_(2) layer in a WS_(2)/1T-TaS_(2) heterostructure using time-resolved ultrafast spectroscopy. Laser-induced charge transfer doping strongly suppresses the commensurate CDW phase, which results in a significant decrease in both the phase transition temperature(T_(c)) and phase transition stiffness. We interpret the phenomenon that photoinduced hole doping, when surpassing a critical threshold value of ~ 10^(18)cm^(-3), sharply decreases the phase transition energy barrier. Our results provide new insights into controlling the CDW phase transition, paving the way for optical-controlled novel devices based on CDW materials.

Deer farming is a thriving industry for venison,velvet antlers,trophy hunting,and other *** and nutrition are important factors for improving production performance,especially dietary protein and amino acids(AAs),as they are the main components of all *** a few studies on AA supplementation(Lys,Met,Arg)have been performed on cervids,which show positive effects on weight gain,ADG,feed-:gain ratio,plasma AAs,carcass weight,dressing percentage,yield of high-quality muscles,storage of internal fat during winter,DM and CP digestibility,plasma protein-and fat-related metabolite concentrations,antler burr perimeter,weight,length and mineralisation,velvet antler yield,rumen volatile fatty acids,and microbiome *** these effects are relevant for supporting the production of cervids products,from venison to velvet or trophy antlers,as well as their general performance and well-being of captive-bred *** current available information suggests that AA supplementation can be especially interesting for animals fed low protein rations,and growing animals,but should be avoided in high rations and during winter,since it may promote the accumulation of internal *** effects on milk production and the concentrations of different hormones involved in the regulation of the antler cycle should be further explored.

Cardiac conduction regulatory RNA(CCRR) has been documented as an antiarrhythmic lncRNA in our earlier investigation. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of CCRR on SERCA2a and the associated Ca2+homeostasis in myocardial infarction(MI). Overexpression of CCRR via AAV9-mediated delivery not only partially reversed ischemia-induced contractile dysfunction but also alleviated abnormal Ca2+homeostasis and reduced the heightened methylation level of SERCA2a following MI. These effects were also observed in CCRR overexpressing transgenic mice. A conserved sequence domain of CCRR mimicked the protective function observed with the full ***, silencing CCRR in healthy mice led to intracellular Ca2+overloading of cardiomyocytes. CCRR increased SERCA2a protein stability by upregulating FTO expression. The direct interaction between CCRR and FTO protein was characterized by RNA-binding protein immunoprecipitation(RIP) analysis and RNA pulldown experiments. Activation of NFATc3 was identified as an upstream mechanism responsible for CCRR downregulation in MI. This study demonstrates that CCRR is a protective lncRNA that acts by maintaining the function of FTO, thereby reducing the m6A RNA methylation level of SERCA2a, ultimately preserving calcium homeostasis for myocardial contractile function in MI. Therefore, CCRR may be considered a promising therapeutic strategy with a beneficial role in cardiac pathology.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries(AZIBs)are recognized as a promising energy storage system with intrinsic safety and low cost,but its applications still rely on the design of high-capacity and stable-cycling cathode *** this work,we present an intercalation mechanism-based cathode materials for AZIB,*** vanadium oxide with pre-intercalated manganese ions and lattice water(noted as MVOH).The synergistic effect between Mn^(2+)and lattice H_(2)O not only expands the interlayer spacing,but also significantly enhances the structural *** in-situ and ex-situ characterizations clarify the Zn^(2+)/H^(+)co–(de)intercalation mechanism of MVOH in aqueous *** demonstrated remarkable structure stability,excellent kinetic behaviors and ion-storage mechanism together enable the MVOH to demonstrate satisfactory specific capacity of 450 mA h g^(−1)at 0.2 A g^(−1),excellent rate performance of 288.8 mA h g^(−1)at 10 A g^(−1)and long cycle life over 20,000 cycles at 5 A g^(−1).This work provides a practical cathode material,and contributes to the understanding of the ion-intercalation mechanism and structural evolution of the vanadium-based cathode for AZIBs.
