The PIRATA-SWE (Prediction and research Moored Array in the Tropical Atlantic-Southwest Extension) was conceived in the early 2000s to gather observations necessary to improve the understanding of the variability of ocean-atmosphere interactions in the SACZ (South Atlantic Convergence Zone), which are believed to influence South American climate. To properly monitor the SACZ, the preliminary design for the PIRATA-SWE array considered the mooring of four buoys, with the southernmost one in the sub-tropics. In 2005, three buoys were deployed in the tropical region. Four years later, in 2009, efforts were started to assemble and deploy a Brazilian prototype of the TAO/PIRATA Atlas (autonomous temperature line acquisition system) buoy–the Atlas-B. Finally, in April 2013 the first Atlas-B, nicknamed "Guariroba", was moored for a testing period at 28.5° S, 44° W, which is the site originally planned for the fourth PIRATA-SWE buoy. In early November 2013, after being detected adrift, the buoy with the upper 700 m part of the mooring line was rescued in an emergency operation. In June 2014, the bottom part was successfully recovered. A new deployment is planned for late 2014. This paper describes part of the learning process of adapting and building the Atlas-B buoy and presents a brief discussion of the data collected during the pilot deployment.

This paper describes the current cancer burden and time trends,makes future projections for the top eight cancers(stomach,lung,liver,esophagus,colon/rectum,breast,leukemia,and cervix), and discusses dominant risk factors and prevention and control strategies in the Eastern Asia region(China,Korea,Japan,and Mongolia).In 2002,Eastern Asia had over 2.8 million new cancer cases,over 2 million cancer deaths,and 4.9 million people living with *** future cancer trends through the year 2050 are projected based on population dynamics,including population growth and *** million new cancer cases and 4.5 million deaths from cancer are projected in the region in *** current cancer burden and the future projection provide facts that cancer is and will be a very serious public health problem in the Eastern Asia region. Those results will assist public health officers and cancer researchers in the design and establishment of public health policies,prioritization of public health resources,design of future research,and application of current knowledge in the prevention and control of cancer in the region.

Ischemic stroke is a severe disorder resulting from acute cerebral *** we demonstrated that post-ischemic treatment with ciclopirox olamine(CPX),a potent antifungal clinical drug,alleviated brain infarction,neurological deficits and brain edema in a classic rat model of ischemic *** dose post-ischemic administration of CPX provided a long-lasting neuroprotective effect,which can be further enhanced by multiple doses administration of *** also effectively reversed ischemia-induced neuronal loss,glial activation as well as blood-brain barrier(BBB)*** quantitative phosphoproteomic analysis,130 phosphosites in 122 proteins were identified to be significantly regulated by CPX treatment in oxygen glucose deprivation(OGD)-exposed SH-SY5 Y cells,which revealed that phosphokinases and cell cycle-related phosphoproteins were largely ***,we demonstrated that CPX markedly enhanced the AKT(protein kinase B,PKB/AKT)and GSK3β(glycogen synthase kinase 3β)phosphorylation in OGD-exposed SH-SY5 Y cells,and regulated the cell cycle progression and nitric oxide(NO)release in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced B V-2 cells,which may contribute to its ameliorative effects against ischemia-associated neuronal death and microglial *** study suggests that CPX could be a promising compound to reduce multiple ischemic injuries;however,further studies will be needed to clarify the molecular mechanisms involved.

The British Medical Association(BMA)guidance on non-therapeutic circumcision(NTMC)of male children is limited to ethical,legal and religious *** we evaluate criticisms of the BMA’s guidance by Lempert et *** their arguments promoting autonomy and consent might be superficially appealing,their claim of high procedural risks and negligible benefits seem one-sided and contrast with high quality evidence of low risk and lifelong *** literature reviews by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the United States centers for Disease Control and Prevention in developing evidence-based policies,as well as risk-benefit analyses,have found that the medical benefits of infant NTMC greatly exceed the risks,and there is no reduction in sexual function and *** BMA’s failure to consider the medical benefits of early childhood NTMC may partly explain why this prophylactic intervention is discouraged in the United *** consequence is higher prevalence of preventable infections,adverse medical conditions,suffering and net costs to the UK’s National Health service for treatment of *** of the issues and contradictions in the BMA guidance identified by Lempert et al stem from the BMA’s guidance not being sufficiently ***,that document called for a review by others of the medical issues surrounding *** societal factors apply,ultimately,NTMC can only be justified rationally on scientific,evidence-based *** are entitled to an accurate presentation of the medical evidence so that they can make an informed *** decision either for or against NTMC should then be respected.

In order to meet the requirements of customers for complex products quickly,manufacturing enterprises begin to collaboration with other enterprises,and in the cooperation,the service relationships between enterprises by providing products to others shape the manufacturing enterprise collaboration network（MECN）.With the increase of MECN scale and cooperation closeness among enterprises,it is necessary to analyze the performance of MECN to ensure the stability of *** this paper,MECN is modeled by partner selection of multiple enterprises using entropy and TOPSIS method,and based on the model,the topology characteristics and vulnerability of MECN are analyzed by using of complex network theory.A case study of automobile engine cooperation manufacturing network is provided to illustrate our work,and the results show that the MECN of automobile engine exhibits the small-world property;and by analysis the vulnerability of the network,the critical enterprise nodes can be identified for failure prevention.

In this paper, the cloud services optimization problem considering energy consumption cost is discussed. The queue model is presented for customer request service on data center. Since the server energy utility is based on the CPU core frequency, the novel trade-off optimization model between services revenue and energy loss cost is proposed in the paper, including allocating the dynamic CPU frequency of server. The HPSO algorithm is proposed for solving the mixed integer programming model. Then novel particle encoding substituting discrete variables and continuous variables efficiently improves solution quality. Finally, the dynamic penalty function method is discussed to convert the constraint optimization problem to non-constraint optimization problem.
