We present a newly developed global magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) model to study the responses of the Earth's magnetosphere to the solar wind. The model is established by using the space-time conservation element and solution element(CESE) method in general curvilinear coordinates on a six-component grid system. As a preliminary study, this paper is to present the model's numerical results of the quasi-steady state and the dynamics of the Earth's magnetosphere under steady solar wind flow with due northward interplanetary magnetic field(IMF). The model results are found to be in good agreement with those published by other numerical magnetospheric models.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the protective effects of Chang'an decoction(肠安方,CAD)on colitis,and investigate the potential mechanisms underlying these effects from the perspectives of endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress induced by mitofusin 2(MFN2).METHODS:The composition of CAD was identified by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry technology.A mice model of dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)induced colitis was established and therapeutic effects of CAD were determined by detecting body weight,disease activity index,colon length and histopathological ***,the expression levels of MFN2,ER stress markers and Nucleotide-binding domain and leucine-rich repeat protein3(NLRP3)relevant proteins were detected by polymerase chain reaction(PCR),Western blot,immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence ***,knockdown and overexpression cell model were constructed to further investigate the underlying mechanism of MFN2 mediating ER stress and energy metabolism by PCR,Western blot,electron microscopy and reactive oxygen species(ROS)***,inflammatory indicator and tight junction proteins were measured by PCR and immunofluorescence staining to evaluate the protective effects of ***:Results showed that the indispensable regulatory role of MFN2 in mediating ER stress and mitochondrial damage was involved in the protective effects of CAD on colitis in mice fed with *** pharmacology analysis also revealed CAD may play a protective effect on colitis by affecting mitochondrial *** addition,our data also suggested a causative role for MFN2 in the development of inflammatory responses and energy metabolic alterations by constructing a knockdown and overexpression cell model whereby alter proper ER-mitochondria interaction in Caco-2 ***,relative expression analyses of ER stress markers and NLRP3 inflammasome showed the onset of ER stress and activation of NLRP3 inflammasome,which is consistent with the above *** contrast,i

Objective： To investigate the effect of Qindan Capsule （芩丹胶囊, QC） on collagen synthesis and the mechanism underlying the process in spontaneously hypertensive rats （SHRs）. Methods： Twenty- four SHRs were divided into three groups： the hypertension model group, the QC treatment group, and the Iosartan treatment group. Eight Wistar Kyoto （WKY） rats were used as the normal control group. The systolic blood pressure （SBP） of the rats was monitored, and the thoracic aorta adventitia of the rats was segregated. The expressions of transforming growth factor 1 （TGF-β 1）, Smad3, and collagens ⅠandⅢ were measured by histological staining and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Results： The SBP was significantly higher in the model group than in the normal control group （P〈0.01）. However, a significant SBP-Iowering effect was observed in QC or Iosartan treatment groups （P〈0.05 or P〈0.01） after 3 weeks of treatment. QC- treated rats showed a decrease of approximately 40 mm Hg, and the Iosartan-treated rats showed a decrease of approximately 50 mm Hg at the end of treatment compared with the beginning of treatment. The protein and gene levels of TGF- β 1, Smad3, and collagens Ⅰ andⅢ in the model group were significantly increased compared with those in the normal control group （P〈0.01）. However, the levels were significantly decreased in the QC or Iosartan treatment group compared with the model group （P〈0.05 or P〈0.01）. However, there was no significant difference between the QC and Iosartan treatment groups （P〈0.05）. Conclusions： QC could exert its antihypertensive effect through down-regulating TGF- β 1-stimulated collagen expressions. The TGF- β 1/Smad3 signaling pathway may be involved in this process.

Objective: Phlegm-stasis syndrome is one of the most common traditional chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes and found in 59% of patients with coronary heart disease(CHD) in routine TCM clinical practice in China. One of the diagnostic criteria of phlegm-stasis syndrome is its characteristic white-greasy and thin tongue coating. We have previously reported that different types of tongue coating have different microbiome characteristics that can be used as diagnostic markers. However, the microbial characteristics of tongue coating of CHD patients with phlegm-stasis syndrome, including coating feature and underlying reason of formation, have rarely been reported. Herein, we examined the characteristic microbiome of tongue coating, and discussed the cause of tongue coating formation via salivary proteins in patients with phlegm-stasis syndrome. Methods: We examined white-greasy and thin tongue coatings obtained from 10 patients with CHD having phlegm-stasis syndrome(n = 10), and compared with those of patients with almost no coating – patients with Qi-Yin deficiency syndrome(n = 10) – and healthy controls(n = 10). 16S r RNA sequencing of tongue coating microbiome and isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation(i TRAQ)-based quantitative analysis of salivary proteins were used to detect tongue coating and salivary protein separately. Salivary levels of s Ig A, lysozyme, and amylase were detected by ELISA. Results: We identified Candidatus_Saccharimonas and Candidate_division_TM7_norank as the prominent members of tongue coating in patients with CHD having phlegm-stasis syndrome. Salivary proteins involved in biological processes, pentose phosphate pathway, and complement and coagulation cascades were among the differentially expressed proteins identified in patients with CHD having phlegm-stasis syndrome on i TRAQ analysis. The polysaccharides,FIII-2,FIII-2-a,FIII-2-b and FIII-2-c were purified from the fruit body of Ganoderma tsugae（***） to study the effects of the four polysaccharides on the productions of human proinflammatory cytokines,interleukin-1α（IL-1α） and tumor necrosis factor α（TNFα）.The results show that the polysaccharides up-regulated the production of IL-1α and TNFα in THP-1 cells under non-stimulatory condition or under stimulation of both lower concentration lipopolysaccharide（LPS） and phorbol myristate acetate（PMA）,and they down-regulated the secretion of IL-1α and TNFα under stronger stimulatory *** four polysaccharides promoted the expression of TNFα *** of TNFα protein reflects the quantity of TNFα *** polysaccharides purified from Ganoderma tsugae bodies exhibit bidirectional regulation effects on cytokine production under different cell stimulatory conditions.

Methological Quality of Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses on Acupuncture for Stroke: A Review of Review

Objective： To assess the methodological quality of systematic reviews and meta-analyses regarding acupuncture intervention for stroke and the primary studies within them. Methods： Two researchers searched Pub Med, Cumulative index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Embase, ISI Web of Knowledge, Cochrane, Allied and Complementary medicine, Ovid Medline, chinese Biomedical Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang and traditional chinese Medical Database to identify systematic reviews and meta-analyses about acupuncture for stroke published from the inception to December 2016. Review characteristics and the criteria for assessing the primary studies within reviews were extracted. The methodological quality of the reviews was assessed using adapted Oxman and Guyatt Scale. The methodological quality of primary studies was also assessed. Results： Thirty-two eligible reviews were identified, 15 in English and 17 in chinese. The English reviews were scored higher than the chinese reviews（P=0.025）, especially in criteria for avoiding bias and the scope of search. All reviews used the quality criteria to evaluate the methodological quality of primary studies, but some criteria were not comprehensive. The primary studies, in particular the chinese reviews, had problems with randomization, allocation concealment, blinding, dropouts and withdrawals, intent-to-treat analysis and adverse events. Conclusions： Important methodological flaws were found in chinese systematic reviews and primary studies. It was necessary to improve the methodological quality and reporting quality of both the systematic reviews published in China and primary studies on acupuncture for stroke.

We present in-situ measurements of atmospheric sulfur hexafluoride（SF6） conducted by an automated gas chromatograph–electron capture detector system and a gas chromatography/mass spectrometry system at a regional background site, Shangdianzi,in China, from June 2009 to May 2011, using the System for Observation of Greenhouse gases in Europe and Asia and Advanced Global Atmospheric Gases Experiment（AGAGE）techniques. The mean background and polluted mixing ratios for SF6 during the study period were 7.22 × 10-12（mol/mol, hereinafter） and 8.66 × 10-12, respectively. The averaged SF6 background mixing ratios at Shangdianzi were consistent with those obtained at other AGAGE stations located at similar latitudes（Trinidad Head and Mace Head）, but larger than AGAGE stations in the Southern Hemisphere（Cape Grim and Cape Matatula）. SF6 background mixing ratios increased rapidly during our study period, with a positive growth rate at 0.30 × 10-12year-1. The peak to peak amplitude of the seasonal cycle for SF6 background conditions was 0.07 × 10-12, while the seasonal fluctuation of polluted conditions was 2.16 × 10-12. During the study period, peak values of SF6 mixing ratios occurred in autumn when local surface horizontal winds originated from W/WSW/SW/SWS/S sectors, while lower levels of SF6 mixing ratios appeared as winds originated from N/NNE/NE/ENE/E sectors.
