Effect of acid fracturing fluid modifying coal microstructure stimulated by ultrasonic

The combination of ultrasonic and acid fracturing fluid can strengthen the modification effect on the micropore structure of the coal matrix,thereby enhancing the efficiency of the acid fracturing *** this research,acetic acid was utilized to formulate acid fracturing fluids with varying concentrations,and the evolutionary traits of both the acid fracturing fluids and ultrasonic waves in relation to coal samples were *** functional group structure,mineral composition,micropore structure and surface morphology of coal samples were characterized by FTIR,XRD,N_(2)adsorption at low temperature and *** results showed that aromatics(I)and branching parameters(CH_(2)/CH_(3))were reduced by 81.58%and 88.67%,respectively,after 9%acetic acid *** acid can dissolve carbonates and clay minerals in coal,create new pores,and increase porosity,pore volume and pore fractal *** modification by 7%acetic acid,the pore volume increased by 5.7 *** observation shows that the diameter of coal surface holes increases,EDS scanning shows that the content of mineral elements in coal decreases,the connectivity of coal holes increases,and the holes *** findings of this research offer theoretical direction for optimizing ultrasonic-enhanced acid fracturing fluid modification.

The compression and energy absorption properties of foam geopolymers increase stress wave attenuation under explosion impacts,reducing the vibration effect on the *** tests were conducted using several composite structure models,including a concrete lining structure(CLS)without foam geopolymer and six foam geopolymer composite structures(FGCS)with different backfill parameters,to study the dynamic response and wave dissipation mechanisms of FGCS under explosive ***,strain,and vibration responses at different locations were synchronously *** damage modes and dynamic responses of different models were compared,and how wave elimination and energy absorption efficiencies were affected by foam geopolymer backfill parameters was *** results showed that the foam geopolymer absorbed and dissipated the impact energy through continuous compressive deformation under high strain rates and dynamic loading,reducing the strain in the liner structure by 52%and increasing the pressure attenuation rate by 28%.Additionally,the foam geopolymer backfill reduced structural vibration and liner deformation,with the FGCS structure showing 35%less displacement and 70%less acceleration compared to the *** FGCS model with thicker,less dense foam geopolymer backfill,having more pores and higher porosity,demonstrated better compression and energy absorption under dynamic impact,increasing stress wave attenuation *** analyzing the stress wave propagation and the compression characteristics of the porous medium,it was concluded that the stress transfer ratio of FGCS-ρ-579 was 77%lower than that of CLS,and the transmitted wave energy was 90%*** results of this study provide a scientific basis for optimizing underground composite structure interlayer parameters.

High-resolution full waveform seismic imaging: Progresses, challenges, and prospects

Full waveform inversion(FWI) is a seismic imaging method with a unified mathematical framework based on wave equation constraints. The FWI method can be used to generate a variety of high-resolution seismic parameter models(e.g.,velocity, anisotropy, viscoelasticity, and attenuation), which can facilitate an in-depth understanding of important scientific problems such as the Earth's interior structure and material composition, earthquake preparation and occurrence, and plate motion and dynamic processes. With the development and cross-integration of disciplines such as geophysics, applied mathematics, and computer science, FWI imaging theories and methods not only play a crucial role in revealing the Earth's interior structure, dynamic evolution, and earthquake mechanisms but also show a wide range of application potential in fields such as resource exploration, medical imaging, engineering inspection, carbon dioxide geological sequestration, and earthquake disaster prediction. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive review and analysis of the development of the FWI method,addressing its current challenges, identifying key issues, future directions, and potential research areas in the theory, methodology, and application of high-resolution FWI imaging. We also offer new insights and perspectives to promote advancements of high-resolution FWI research and applications in Earth sciences and other related fields.

Impact of net-zero emissions on atmospheric CO2 concentration in China: Ideal simulations based on the GEOS-Chem model

Elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide（CO2） concentrations have caused global climate change such as global warming and more frequent climate extremes. Countries worldwide have proposed carbon neutrality strategies to curb the rising CO2concentrations. To investigate the impact of China's carbon neutrality goal on atmospheric CO2concentrations, we conducted a series of ideal simulations from 2015 to 2019 using a global 3D chemistry transport model, Goddard Earth Observing system Chemistry（GEOS-Chem）. Compared with the column-averaged dry-air mole fraction of atmospheric CO2（XCO2） from Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2（OCO-2） and surface CO2measurements in Obs Pack, we find that GEOS-Chem effectively reproduces the spatiotemporal variability of CO2. The model exhibits a root mean square error（RMSE） of 1.51 ppm（R2=0.89） for OCO-2 XCO2in China and 2.65 ppm（R2=0.75） for surface CO2concentrations at the WLG station. Further, compared to 2.83 ppm yr-1in the control experiment, we suggest that net-zero CO2emissions in China decelerate the increasing trends of XCO2to 1.81 ppm yr-1,making a decrease of approximately 35.89%. Meanwhile, the seasonal cycle amplitude（SCA） of XCO2is moderately reduced from 7.39±0.81 to 6.75±0.70 ppm, representing a relative reduction of 9.91%. Spatially, net-zero CO2emissions induce a more significant decrease in XCO2trends over northern and southern China, while their impact on SCA is more evident in northern and northeastern China. Moreover, ideal experiments demonstrate that zero fossil CO2emissions lead to a greater attenuation of the linear trends of XCO2by 40.81%, while the absence of terrestrial CO2sinks largely diminishes the SCA by 16.61%. Additionally,trends and SCA in surface CO2concentrations exhibit almost identical decreasing responses to net-zero CO2emissions but display greater sensitivities compared to XCO2. Acetic acid can dissolve carbonates and clay minerals in coal, create new pores, and increase porosity, pore volume and pore fractal dimension. After modification by 7% acetic acid, the pore volume increased by 5.7 times. SEM observation shows that the diameter of coal surface holes increases, EDS scanning shows that the content of mineral elements in coal decreases, the connectivity of coal holes increases, and the holes expand. The findings of this research offer theoretical direction for optimizing ultrasonic-enhanced acid fracturing fluid modification.

On January 7,2025,an Ms6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County,Xigaze City,Xizang Autonomous *** epicenter,located near the Shenzha-Dingjie fault zone at the boundary between the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and the Indian Plate,marked the largest earthquake in the region in recent *** Shenzha-Dingjie fault zone,situated at the boundary between the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and the Indian Plate,is a key tectonic feature in the India-Eurasia collision process,characterized by active structural deformation manifested as both thrust and strike-slip *** study analyzed the disaster characteristics induced by the earthquake using differential synthetic aperture radar interferometry (D-InSAR) to process Sentinel-1 satellite data and derive pre-and post-earthquake surface deformation ***,high-resolution optical remote sensing data,UAV imagery,and airborne Li DAR data were employed to analyze the spatial distribution of the surface rupture zone,with field investigations validating the *** results include:(1) Potential landslide hazard points identified through optical image interpretation did not show secondary landslide activity upon field verification;(2) D-InSAR revealed the co-seismic surface deformation pattern,providing detailed deformation information for the Dingri region;(3) Integration of LiDAR and optical imagery further refined and validated surface rupture characteristics identified by optical-InSAR,indicating a predominantly north-south rupture ***,surface rupture features extending in a near east-west direction were observed on the southeast side of the epicenter,accompanied by some infrastructure damage;(4) Surface rupture was most severe in high-intensity seismic areas near the epicenter,with the maximum surface displacement approximately 28 km from the *** earthquake-induced surface deformation zone spanned approximately 6 km by 46 km,with deformation concentrated primarily on the western side

Estimating the Economic Effects of the Early Covid-19emergency Response in Cities Using Intracity Travel Intensity Data

In the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic,China implemented the most stringent and serious emergency *** understand the effect of such an emergency response strategy on the economic system,this study proposed a simultaneous overall estimation method using intracity travel intensity *** overall effect is represented by the difference between intracity travel intensity with and without the emergency *** historical data and time series analysis,we compared intracity travel intensity post China’s implementation of the emergency response with predicted intracity travel intensity without such a *** loss rates,defined by the proportion of intracity travel intensity loss,were calculated for 360 cities within 33 provincial-level regions in China based on data *** found that 30 days after the emergency response,21% of the cities saw over 80% recovery and 10% of the cities showed more than 90% recovery;45 days after the emergency response,more than 83% of the 360 cities witnessed 80% *** correlation between gross domestic production loss rate and travel intensity loss rate was studied quantitatively to demonstrate the representativeness of the intracity travel intensity loss *** indicator was also used to analyze the spatial and temporal patterns of the effects on the *** results of this study can help us understand the economic effects caused by the early Covid-19 emergency response and the method can be a reference for fast and real-time economic loss estimation to support emergency response decision making under pandemic conditions.
