Beyond Performance of Learning Control Subject to Uncertainties and Noise: A Frequency-Domain Approach Applied to Wafer Stages

The increasingly stringent performance requirement in integrated circuit manufacturing, characterized by smaller feature sizes and higher productivity, necessitates the wafer stage executing a extreme motion with the accuracy in terms of nanometers. This demanding requirement witnesses a widespread application of iterative learning control(ILC), given the repetitive nature of wafer scanning. ILC enables substantial performance improvement by using past measurement data in combination with the system model knowledge. However, challenges arise in cases where the data is contaminated by the stochastic noise, or when the system model exhibits significant uncertainties, constraining the achievable performance. In response to this issue, an extended state observer(ESO) based adaptive ILC approach is proposed in the frequency *** being model-based, it utilizes only a rough system model and then compensates for the resulting model uncertainties using an ESO, thereby achieving high robustness against uncertainties with minimal modeling effort. Additionally, an adaptive learning law is developed to mitigate the limited performance in the presence of stochastic noise, yielding high convergence accuracy yet without compromising convergence speed. Simulation and experimental comparisons with existing model-based and data-driven inversion-based ILC validate the effectiveness as well as the superiority of the proposed method.

As a laser passes through a scattering medium,the light interacts with the irregular reflections within the medium,resulting in light scattering and the formation of *** this paper,an image sensor based on the combination of a coreless optical fiber and a digital camera is proposed for liquid refractive index sensing *** coreless fiber is used as a sensing unit,and the change in the speckle pattern is measured using the digital correlation method to detect the magnitude of the liquid's refractive *** experimental results indicate that the laser image sensing technique is capable of effectively distinguishing liquid samples with refractive indices ranging from 1.332 8 to1.390 8,with a sensing sensitivity of-1.306 ***,the laser image sensing technique,with its advantages of high experimental reproducibility,simple system design,remote over-control,holds great research significance and potential application in laser communication and sensor integration.

On July 27,2022,a high-precision system for measuring the magnetic field based on a coherent population trapping magnetometer(referred to as the CPT system)was launched onboard the space Advanced technology demonstration satellite(SATech-01)by a ZK-1A *** payload comprises a scalar coherent population trapping magnetometer(CPTM),triaxial anisotropic magnetoresistance magnetometer(AMRM),and nano star tracker mounted on a non-magnetic telescopic tubular *** configuration enables synchronized measurement of scalar and vector geomagnetic fields,as well as the attitude,making the payload with its compact sensors suitable for applications on miniature satellite *** November 7,2022,the novel telescopic tubular mast was deployed in orbit,extending to a length of 5.28 *** CPTM,an absolute scalar magnetometer with an omnidirectional sensor,is the first China-developed quantum/atomic magnetometer successfully operating in *** orbit,the CPTM has sensitivity of~10 pT/Hz^(1/2) and can automatically operate under complex magnetic field *** difference between the scalar fields obtained using the CPTM and CHAOS model has a mean deviation of -3.73 nT and a standard deviation of 26.11 nT(1σ),without on-orbit calibration or *** miniaturized AMRM has a sensitivity of~0.3 nT/Hz^(1/2) and maintains stable and reliable operation in *** low-power and miniaturized nano star tracker has a measurement uncertainty of 14.23″(1σ)in *** mission has realized the on-orbit technical verification of the integrated and synchronized detection of the vector magnetic field and attitude and fully validated the system’s performance,automation level,and reliability.

Local magnetic moment oscillation around an Anderson impurity on graphene

We theoretically investigate the spin resolved Friedel oscillation(FO)and quasiparticle interference(QPI)in graphene induced by an Anderson *** the impurity becomes magnetic,the resulted FO becomes spin dependent,which gives rise to a local magnetic moment oscillation with an envelop decaying as r^(-2) in real space in the doping ***,at half filling,the electron density and local magnetic moment will not oscillate but decay as r^(-3).Such spin resolved FO has both sublattice and spin ***,the local magnetic moment decay at half filling only occurs at one sublattice of graphene,which is quite like the phenomenon observed in the STM experiment(***ález-Herrero et al.,Science 352,437(2016)).We further give an analytic formula about such spin dependent FO based on the stationary phase ***,we study the interference of quasiparticles around the magnetic impurity by calculating the spin dependent Fourier-transformed local density of states(FT-LDOS).Our work gives a comprehensive understanding about the local magnetic moment oscillation around an Anderson impurity on graphene.

Galileo multi-day precise orbit determination using L-band and SLR data

The continuously available satellites of European Galileo currently reach more than 25. To explore the rationality and reliability of the L-band and satellite laser ranging(SLR) data processing strategies, we design the Galileo L-band, the SLR-only, and the combined L-band/SLR dynamic precise orbit determination(POD) strategies by using the normal equations(NEQs) stacking, and investigate their continuity and stability by employing the Galileo L-band data and SLR observations for the time span of the whole year of 2023, based on the Bei Dou/GNSS analysis center platform of Shandong University by using the modified Bernese GNSS Software Version 5.4. The orbital consistency of the L-band 1-day solution is the best with the Three-dimensional Root-Mean-Square(3D-RMS) values of 3.6 cm compared with the center for Orbit Determination in Europe Multi-GNSS Experiment(COM) orbits, the corresponding values is 1.4 cm, 2.5 cm, and 2.3 cm in Radial, the Tangential, and the Normal(RTN) direction, respectively. While the SLR-only 9-day arc length is optimal with the RTN values of 5.3 cm, 30 cm, and 38.2 cm,as well as the 3D-RMS values of 48.9 cm. Encouragingly, the difference of the orbital accuracy between the combined L-band/SLR multi-day solution and the COM orbits is reduced by 0.5 cm and 0.9 cm, 0.6 cm and 1.2 cm in T-, and N-direction for the 3-and 5-day solution respectively. The corresponding values improve 0.7 cm and 0.9 cm, 1.4 cm and 1.8 cm for the 3-and 5-day orbital overlaps difference between the combined L-band/SLR and the L-band solution. Take the E09 satellite as a case study, the SLR-only orbital accuracy is regularly optimized as the multi-day arc lengthens and with the sites ***, the SLR residuals of its three types of orbits further demonstrate the positive contribution of SLR to the combination of the GNSS and SLR techniques.

Frequent extreme disasters have led to frequent large-scale power outages in recent *** quickly restore power,it is necessary to understand the damage information of the distribution network ***,the public network communication system is easily damaged after disasters,causing the operation center to lose control of the distribution *** this paper,we considered using satellites to transmit the distribution network data and focus on the resource scheduling problem of the satellite emergency communication system for the distribution ***,this paper first formulates the satellite beam-pointing problem and the accesschannel joint resource allocation ***,this paper proposes the Priority-based Beam-pointing and Access-Channel joint optimization algorithm(PBAC),which uses convex optimization theory to solve the satellite beam pointing problem,and adopts the block coordinate descent method,Lagrangian dual method,and a greedy algorithm to solve the access-channel joint resource allocation problem,thereby obtaining the optimal resource scheduling scheme for the satellite ***,this paper conducts comparative experiments with existing methods to verify the effec-tiveness of the proposed *** results show that the total weighted transmitted data of the proposed algorithm is increased by about 19.29∼26.29%compared with other algorithms.

Multi-instrumental observations of nighttime X-pattern of equatorial ionization anomaly during magnetically quiet time: case study

In this study, we provide a detailed case study of the X-pattern of equatorial ionization anomaly(EIA) observed on the night of September 12, 2021 by the Global-scale Observations of the Limb and Disk(GOLD) mission. Unlike most previous studies about the X-pattern observed under the severely disturbed background ionosphere, this event is observed under geomagnetically quiet and low solar activity conditions. GOLD's continuous observations reveal that the X-pattern intensity evolves with local time, while its center's longitude remains constant. The total electron content(TEC) data derived from the ground-based Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS) network aligns well with GOLD observations in capturing the formation of the X-pattern, extending coverage to areas beyond GOLD's observational reach. Additionally, the ESA's Swarm mission show that both sides of the X-pattern can coincide with the occurrence of small-scale equatorial plasma bubbles(EPBs). To further analyze the possible drivers of the X-pattern, observations from the Ionospheric Connection Explorer(ICON) satellite were used. It shows that the latitudinal expansion(or width) between the EIA crests in two hemispheres is proportional(or inversely proportional) to the upward(or downward) plasma drift velocity, which suggests that the zonal electric field should have a notable influence on the formation of EIA X-pattern. Further simulations using the SAMI2 model support this mechanism, as the X-pattern of EIA is successfully reproduced by setting the vertical plasma drift to different values at different longitudes.

Permanently shadowed regions(PSRs)on the Moon are potential reservoirs for water ice,making them hot spots for future lunar *** water ice in PSRs would cause distinctive changes in space weathering there,in particular reduction-oxidation processes that diff er from those in illuminated *** determine the characteristics of products formed during space weathering in PSRs,the lunar meteorite NWA 10203 with artifi cially added water was irradiated with a nanosecond laser to simulate a micro-meteorite bombardment of lunar soil containing water *** TEM results of the water-incorporated sample showed distinct amorphous rims that exhibited irregular thickness,poor stratifi cation,the appearance of bubbles,and a reduced number of npFe^(0).Additionally,EELS analysis showed the presence of ferric iron at the rim of the nanophase metallic iron particles(npFe^(0))in the amorphous rim with the involvement of *** results suggest that water ice is another possible factor contributing to oxidation during micrometeorite bombardment on the lunar *** addition,it off ers a reference for a new space weathering model that incorporates water in PSRs,which could be widespread on asteroids with volatiles.

Vegetation dynamics at the southern edge of the Siberian mountain taiga

The growth,survival,and mortality of conifer species in response to the hydrothermal regime have received considerable *** is expected that the highest sensitivity of trees to the warming-drying climate will occur mainly at the edges of the species *** focused on the responses to climate change of the drought-resistant larch(Larix sibirica)and the moisture-sensitive Siberian pine(Pinus sibirica)along the elevation gradient in the Tannu-Ola Ridge,the southern margin where those two species coexist in Siberia by using satellite data(MODIS,Landsat,and microwave),the indexes of gross(GPP)and net(NPP)primary productivity,and tree radial growth index(GI).We found that since the warming restart in the 2000s,the area of larch-dominated forests increased by~150%while the area of pine-dominated forests decreased by~10%.The Siberian pine has retreated at low elevations(<1800 m)and increased its area at higher *** contrast,the area of larch stands increased in both the uphill and downhill ***(Betula spp.)also increased its area at low elevations(about+120%).Since 2001,the forested area increased by~5%.A shrubification,i.e.,an increase in the area of shrubs,was observed at high *** uphill rate of timberline and shrubline migration was about 0.3 m/*** the 2000s,vegetation NPP has increased by 13%.A notable correlation between NPP and the GI of larch and pine was found(r=0.5-0.7).At lower elevations,NPP positively correlated with precipitation and soil moisture,while air temperature and VPD(vapor pressure deficit)increase inhibited *** high elevations,the effects of these variables on productivity *** continuous decline of the Siberian pine forest indicates an inevitable retreat of this species at low elevations and its replacement by larch and birch.
