Multi-Level Fusion in Ultrasound for Cancer Detection Based on Uniform LBP Features

Collective improvement in the acceptable or desirable accuracy level of breast cancer image-related pattern recognition using various schemes remains challenging.Despite the combination of multiple schemes to achieve superior ultrasound image pattern recognition by reducing the speckle noise,an enhanced technique is not achieved.The purpose of this study is to introduce a features-based fusion scheme based on enhancement uniform-Local Binary Pattern(LBP)and filtered noise reduction.To surmount the above limitations and achieve the aim of the study,a new descriptor that enhances the LBP features based on the new threshold has been proposed.This paper proposes a multi-level fusion scheme for the auto-classification of the static ultrasound images of breast cancer,which was attained in two stages.First,several images were generated from a single image using the pre-processing method.Themedian andWiener filterswere utilized to lessen the speckle noise and enhance the ultrasound image texture.This strategy allowed the extraction of a powerful feature by reducing the overlap between the benign and malignant image classes.Second,the fusion mechanism allowed the production of diverse features from different filtered images.The feasibility of using the LBP-based texture feature to categorize the ultrasound images was demonstrated.The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is tested on 250 ultrasound images comprising 100 and 150 benign and malignant images,respectively.The proposed method achieved very high accuracy(98%),sensitivity(98%),and specificity(99%).As a result,the fusion process that can help achieve a powerful decision based on different features produced from different filtered images improved the results of the new descriptor of LBP features in terms of accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity.

It is recognized that karst processes are actively involved in the current global carbon cycle based on twenty years research,and the carbon sink occurred in karst processes is possibly an important part of“missing sink”in global carbon cycle.In this paper,an overview is given on karst carbon cycle research,and influence factors,formed carbon pools(background carbon sink)and sink increase potentials of current karst carbon cycle are analyzed.Carbonate weathering could contribute to the imbalance item(BIM)and land use change item(ELUC)in the global carbon cycle model,owing to its uptake of both atmospheric CO_(2)(carbon sink effect)and CO_(2) produced by soil respiration(carbon source reduction effect).karst carbon sink includes inorganic carbon sink resulted from hydrogeochemical process and organic carbon sink generated by aquatic photosynthetic DIC conversion,forming relatively stable river(reservoir)water body or sediment carbon sink.The sizes of both sinks are controlled by terrestrial ecosystems and aquatic ecosystems,respectively.Desertification rehabilitation and carbon sequestration by aquatic plants are two effective ways to increase the carbon sink in karst area.It is estimated that the rate of carbon sink is at least 381000 t CO_(2)/a with vegetation restoration and afforestation in southwest China karst area,while the annual organic carbon sink generated by aquatic photosynthesis is about 84200 t C in the Pearl River Basin.The development of a soil CO_(2) based model for assessment of regional dissolution intensity will help to improve the estimation accuracy of carbon sink increase and potential,thus provide a more clear and efficient karst sink increase scheme and pathway to achieve the goals of“double carbon”.With the deep investigation on karst carbon cycle,mechanism and carbon sink effect,and the improvement of watershed carbon sink measurement methods and regional sink increase evaluation approaches.karst carbon sink is expected to be included in the list of atmospheric CO_(2) sources/sinks of t

To investigate groundwater flow and solute transport characteristics of the karst trough zone in China， tracer experiments were conducted at two adjacent typical karst groundwater flow systems (Yuquandong （YQD） and Migongquan （MGQ）) in Sixi valley， western Hubei， China. High-resolution continuous monitoring was utilized to obtain breakthrough curves （BTCs）， which were then analyzed using the multi-dispersion model （MDM） and the two-region nonequilibrium model （2RNE） with basic parameters calculated by CXTFIT and QTRACER2. Results showed that: （1） YQD flow system had a complex infiltration matrix with overland flow， conduit flow and fracture flow， while the MGQ flow system was dominated by conduit flow with fast flow transport velocity， but also small amount of fracture flow there; （2） they were well fitted based on the MDM (R;=0.928) and 2RNE (R;=0.947) models， indicating that they had strong adaptability in the karst trough zone; （3） conceptual models for YQD and MGQ groundwater systems were generalized. In YQD system， the solute was transported via overland flow during intense rainfall， while some infiltrated down into fissures and conduits. In MGQ system， most were directly transported to spring outlet in the fissure-conduit network.

With today's economic globalization,inter-provincial trade plays an important role in a country's economy.This paper is the first to adopt the input-output tables of 30 Chinese provinces and to summarize the evolution of China's inter-provincial trade from1987 to 2007.This paper reaches the following conclusions.First,China's inter-provincial trade has sustained a period of rapid growth.In 2007,the total volume of inter-provincial trade was twice the amount of international trade,with the eastern region accounting for the majority of the inter-provincial trade volume.GDP may have a greater effect on interprovincial trade than geographic distance does.Second,inter-provincial trade maintains a high level of concentration and overlaps with the high concentration of GDP.Third,the inter-provincial trade dependence of Chinese provinces tends to increase,an indication of the growing domestic market integration.Moreover,the eastern region's dependence on inter-provincial trade is higher than the central and western regions'.Fourth,the share of inter-provincial trade in the overall external trade of Chinese provinces has a declining tendency,which indicates a slower process of China's domestic market integration compared with international market integration.However,in terms of proportion,the external trade of most Chinese provinces is still dominated by inter-provincial trade.Fifth,most provinces with longstanding inter-provincial trade deficits are in the central and western regions.

Compiling distribution of karst in Southern China and Southeast Asia

As China and Southeast Asian countries have accelerated and globalized their economic development, karst environmental problems have become increasingly prominent and studying on and compiling maps of karst geology is quite important. Therefore, based on a wide collection of data in Southeast Asian countries, a cooperative map compilation has been carried out internationally. Through comprehensive research and analysis, a unified understanding has been achieved in terms of compiling principles, contents and representing methods, Distribution of karst in Southern China and Southeast Asia(1/5 000 000) has been compiled, which provides foundations for environmental protection and scientific studies of karst geology.

Triticum aestivum L. cv. Guizi 1(GZ1) is a drought-tolerant local purple wheat cultivar. It is not clear how purple wheat resists drought stress, but it could be related to anthocyanin biosynthesis. In this study, transcriptome data from droughttreated samples and controls were compared. Drought slightly reduced the anthocyanin, protein and starch contents of GZ1 grains and significantly reduced the grain weight. Under drought stress, 16 682 transcripts were reduced, 27 766 differentially expressed genes(DEGs) were identified, and 379 DEGs, including DREBs, were related to defense response. The defense-response genes included response to water deprivation, reactive oxygen, bacteria, fungi, etc. Most of the structural and regulatory genes in anthocyanin biosynthesis were downregulated, with only Ta DFR, Ta OMT, Ta5,3GT, and Ta MYB-4 B1 being upregulated. Ta CHS, Ta F3H, TaCHI, Ta4CL, and TaF3’H are involved in responses to UV, hormones, and stimulus. Ta CHS-2D1, Ta DFR-2D2, Ta DFR-7D, TaOMT-5A, Ta5,3 GT-1B1, Ta5,3GT-3A, and Ta5,3GT-7B1 connect anthocyanin biosynthesis with other pathways, and their interacting proteins are involved in primary metabolism, genetic regulation, growth and development, and defense responses. There is further speculation about the defense-responsive network in purple wheat. The results indicated that biotic and abiotic stress-responsive genes were stimulated to resist drought stress in purple wheat GZ1, and anthocyanin biosynthesis also participated in the drought defense response through several structural genes.

Hengduan Mountains offer land space for a variety of ecological services. However, the sustainable development and management of land space has been challenged by increased human activities in recent years. This paper performs the spatial pattern analysis of the quantitative and structural changes of various landscapes at different altitudes, and uses the land use data in 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2015 to reveal how various land patterns have changed. The results show that, within the production-living-ecological space schema, the ecological space dominates Hengduan Mountains, while the production and living space was mainly distributed in south region. During 1990-2015, the production-living-ecological spatial changes had been gradually accelerated and the regional differences had become more prominent. The agricultural production space had continuously decreased by 1132.31 km^2, and the industrial and mining production space had rapidly increased by 281.4 km^2 during 1990-2015. The living space had steadily increased, and the ecological space had increased with fluctuations. The land space pattern in Hengduan Mountains was greatly restricted by the terrain, such as altitude and slope. The implementations of China Western development strategy and the Returning Farmland to Forest Program had favorably promoted the changes of land spatial pattern in Hengduan Mountains.

Multiderivative Combined Dissipative Compact Scheme Satisfying Geometric Conservation Law III: Characteristic-Wise Hybrid Method

Based on newly developed weight-based smoothness detectors and non-linear interpolations designed to capture discontinuities for the multiderivative com-bined dissipative compact scheme(MDCS),hybrid linear and nonlinear interpolations are proposed to form hybrid MDCS.These detectors are derived from the weights used for the nonlinear interpolations and can provide suitable switches between the linear and the nonlinear schemes to realize the characteristics for the hybrid MDCS of capturing discontinuities and maintaining high resolution in the region without large discontinuities.To save computational cost,the nonlinear scheme with characteris-tic decomposition is only applied in the detected discontinuities region by specially designed hybrid strategy.Typical tests show that the hybrid MDCS is capable of cap-turing discontinuities and maintaining high resolution power for the smooth region at the same time.With the satisfaction of the geometric conservative law(GCL),the MDCS is further applied on curvilinear mesh to present its promising capability of handling pragmatic simulations.

Deep Learning Network for Energy Storage Scheduling in Power Market Environment Short-Term Load Forecasting Model

In the electricity market,fluctuations in real-time prices are unstable,and changes in short-term load are determined by many factors.By studying the timing of charging and discharging,as well as the economic benefits of energy storage in the process of participating in the power market,this paper takes energy storage scheduling as merely one factor affecting short-term power load,which affects short-term load time series along with time-of-use price,holidays,and temperature.A deep learning network is used to predict the short-term load,a convolutional neural network(CNN)is used to extract the features,and a long short-term memory(LSTM)network is used to learn the temporal characteristics of the load value,which can effectively improve prediction accuracy.Taking the load data of a certain region as an example,the CNN-LSTM prediction model is compared with the single LSTM prediction model.The experimental results show that the CNN-LSTM deep learning network with the participation of energy storage in dispatching can have high prediction accuracy for short-term power load forecasting.
