Dear Editor,Rice(Oryza sativa)is one of the most important food crops as well as a model plant for basic *** bacterial blight(BB)caused by Xanthomonas oryzae ***(Xoo)is a devastating bacterial disease worldwide(Mew et al.,1993),affecting millions of hectares of rice annually,with an estimated crop loss of as high as 75%.Upon invasion of rice cells,Xoo secretes transcription activator-like effectors(TALEs)to activate the host Sugars Will Eventually be Exported Transporters(SWEET)genes to obtain nutrition for bacterial growth,because the induced SWEET transports more sugars to where the bacteria reside(Boch and Bonas,2010).

The energy crisis has always been a widely concerned problem. It is an urgent need for green and renewable energy technologies to achieve sustainable development, and the photo-assisted charging energy storage devices provide a new way to realize the sustainable utilization of solar energy. Here, we fabricated a photo-assisted charging fibrous supercapacitor (NM2P1) with Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)-based hybrid fibre modified by nitrogen-doped carbon dots (NCDs). The NM2P1 fibre provides a volumetric capacitance of 1,445 F·cm^(−3) (630 F·g^(−1)) at 10 A·cm^(−3) under photo-assisted charging, which increases by 35.9% than that of dark condition (1,063 F·cm^(−3)/464 F·g^(−1)). Furthermore, the NM2P1 fibrous supercapacitor device shows that the maximum volumetric energy density and volumetric power density are 18.75 mWh·cm^(−3) and 8,382 mW·cm^(−3). Notably, the transient photovoltage (TPV) test was used to further confirm that NCDs as a photosensitizer enhance the light absorption capacity and faster charge transfer kinetics of NM2P1 fibre. This work directly exploits solar energy to improve the overall performance of supercapacitor, which opens up opportunities for the utilization of renewable energy and the development of photosensitive energy equipment.

Estimation and simulation were carried out for the components of ice-surface energy balance and turbulent exchange parameters using the flux-profile method and the simple biosphere model version 2 (SiB2, hereinafter) respectively based on the measured results for the atmosphere in the near-ice-surface layer, which were observed by the First Arctic Scientific Expedition of China in August, 1999 at a joint ice-research station (75°02’N, 160°51’W) on the drifting ice of Arctic Ocean. Evidence suggests that during the melting period of drifting ice the sum of the ice-released sensible heat and effective melting-consumed heat is greater than the net ice-absorbed radiation on the surface, with the excess heat coming via heat conduction from the deep layers of the ice mass. The simulated net radiation is systematically 18% greater than the measured results, while the simulated sensible heat flux is systematically 3% lower than the measured ones; and the simulated ice-surface heat flux differs noticeably from

Tin oxide （SnO2） is one of the most promising transparent conducting oxide materials, which is widely used in thin film gas sensors. We investigate the dependence of the deposition time on structural, morphologicaJ and hydrogen gas sensing properties of SnO2 thin films synthesized by dc magnetron sputtering. The deposited samples are characterized by XRD, SEM, AFM, surface area measurements and surface profiler. Also the H2 gas sensing properties of SnO2 deposited samples are performed against a wide range of operating temperature. The XRD analysis demonstrates that the degree of crystallinity of the deposited SnO2 films strongly depends on the deposition time. SEM and AFM analyses reveal that the size of nanoparticles or agglomerates, and both average and rms surface roughness is enhanced with the increasing deposition time. Also gas sensors based on these SnO2 nanolayers show an acceptable response to hydrogen at various operating temperatures.

The proximity effect to reduce the transition temperature of a superconducting film is frequently used in transitionedge sensors. Here, we develop these transition-edge sensors using Mo/Au/Au tri-layer films to detect soft x-rays. They are equipped with an overhanging photon absorber. We reduce the fabrication complexity by integrating the sensor patterning with the tri-layer film formation. We determine the electro-thermal parameters of the sensors through a series of resistance vs. temperature and current vs. voltage measurements. We also demonstrate their energy-resolving capability by using a55Fe radioactive x-ray source. The best energy resolution was approximately 6.66 eV at 5.9 keV, with a theoretical count rate of 500 Hz.

Nd/Yb-co-doped YAG transparent ceramic nano-powder was prepared by a sol-gel combustion *** structure,morphology and properties were characterized by thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis,X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,infrared spectroscopy,absorption analysis and fluorescence spectroscopy,*** results show that the mass loss of the powder calcinated at 900 ℃ for 3 h is 49.56%.A well-crystallized Nd/Yb:YAG nano-powder with the superior sintering performance and high purity is obtained,and the morphology of the particles with the average diameter in the range of 60-100 runs appears *** nano-powder exhibits an intense absorption at 808 nm,corresponding to the 4I/9/2-4F7/2 transition of Nd^(^(3+) ions,which is suitable to absorb the wavelength of 808 nm from a laser diode *** emission peak at 1046 nm of the Nd/Yb:YAG powder is more intense than that of Nd^(^(3+):YAG *** is indicated that the energy absorbed by Yb^(^(3+) ions from the laser diode source can be transmitted to Nd^(^(3+) ions based on the cross relaxation process of[(4F3/2)Nd,(2F7/2)Yb]-[(479/2)Nd,(2F5/2)Yb].

Accurately calculating detachment capacity is the most fundamental issue when establishing a soil erosion process *** deposits of Benggang are typical soil-gravel mixtures,whereas the understanding of the soil detachment of colluvial deposits is *** work investigated the effects of the gravel contents on the soil detachment capacity of colluvial deposits and its hydrodynamic *** colluvial sample was collected in Anxi County,Fujian Province,Southeast China,and a small-sample scouring test was *** slope steepness ranged from 18%to 84%,unit discharge ranged from 0.56×10^(-3)to 2.22×10^(-3)m^(2)s^(-1),and gravel content ranged from 0%to 70%.The results indicated that the gravel content is the primary factor that influences the detachment capacity,followed by the discharge and then the *** detachment capacity trend with the gravel content varied over different slopes and *** power represents the best hydrodynamic parameter for modelling the detachment capacity of colluvial deposits and can be used to establish a fitting equation for the colluvium together with the mean weight diameter(MWD)(Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency(NSE)=0.96).As the gravel content increased,the soil erodibility parameters increased several folds,in some cases more than 10 folds,mainly because the soil shear strength decreased ***,as the gravel content increased,the gravel specific surface area increased,the obstruction of gravel to runoff increased,and the energy needed for runoff to overcome gravel obstruction increased,leading to 2-3 folds higher critical shear stress of runoff for soilgravel mixtures compared with pure *** summary,gravel can influence the detachment capacity by changing the soil properties,and the gravel content also affects the relationship between soil detachment capacity and the hydrodynamic *** findings deepen the understanding of the influence of gravel on soil erosion and provide a basis for
