Robust evidence is needed for the hazardous effects of outdoor particulate matter(PM)on mortality and morbidity from all types of *** summarize and meta-analyze the association between PM and cancer,published articles reporting associations between outdoor PM exposure and any type of cancer with individual outcome assessment that provided a risk estimate in cohort studies were identified via systematic *** 3,256 records,47 studies covering 13 cancer sites(30 for lung cancer,12 for breast cancer,11 for other cancers)were included in the quantitative *** pooled relative risks(RRs)for lung cancer incidence or mortality associated with every 10-mg/m^(3) PM2.5 or PM10 were 1.16(95%confidence interval[CI],1.10–1.23;I2=81%)or 1.22(95%CI,1.02–1.45;I2=96%),*** but non-significant risks were found for breast *** cancers were shown to be associated with PM exposure in some studies but not consistently and thus warrant further investigation.

Background:The People's Republic of China(***)has made significant progress on schistosomiasis *** the 12 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)with schistosomiasis endemic in ***,Guangdong,Shanghai,Fujian,Guangxi and Zhejiang PLADs(following as five PLADs)had successively eliminated schistosomiasis during ***,consolidation of the schistosomiasis elimination in these five PLADs remains *** the current study,we sought to understand the epidemic situation in these post-elimination areas and their surveillance capabilities on ***:Annual data reflecting the interventions and surveillance on human beings,cattle and snails based on county level from 2005 to 2016 were collected through the national schistosomiasis reporting system and the data were analyzed to understand the epidemic status of schistosomiasis in the five PLADs.A standardized score sheet was designed to assess the surveillance capacity for schistosomiasis of selected disease control agencies in five PLADs and ten *** on surveillance capacity including schistosomiasis diagnostic skills,identification of snails'living and infection status and knowledge about schistosomiasis and its control were *** analysis was used to analyze the epidemic status and evaluation results on surveillance ***:The assessments showed that no local cases in humans and cattle or infected snail were found in these five PLADs since ***,from 2005 to 2016,a total of 221 imported cases were detected in Zhejiang,Shanghai and Fujian,and 11.98 hm^2 of new snail habitats were found in Zhejiang,Shanghai and *** addition,snail infestation reoccurred in 247.55 hm^2 of former snail habitats since *** the surveillance capacity assessment,the accuracy rate of IHA and MHT were 100 and 89.3%,*** participants could judge the living status of snails accurately and 98.1%on the infection status of snai

In the Memorandum of Understanding on Health Technology Cooperation issued in Beijing in 1978,the Ministry of Health(MOH)of China and the World Health Organization(WHO)agreed to create a series of WHO Collaborating Centres(WHOCC).The Institute of parasitic diseases at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences(the predecessor of the National Institute of parasitic diseases[NIPD]at China CDC)was officially designated as a“WHO Collaborating Centre for Malaria,Schistosomiasis,and Filariasis”in 1980 based in Shanghai(1).Since then,the WHOCC for Malaria,Schistosomiasis,and Filariasis has played an important role in promoting the development of medical science in China.
