Construction of apricot variety search engine based on deep learning

Apricot has a long history of cultivation and has many varieties and types. The traditional variety identification methods are timeconsuming and labor-consuming, posing grand challenges to apricot resource management. Tool development in this regard will help researchers quickly identify variety information. This study photographed apricot fruits outdoors and indoors and constructed a dataset that can precisely classify the fruits using a U-net model (F-score:99%), which helps to obtain the fruit's size, shape, and color features. Meanwhile, a variety search engine was constructed, which can search and identify variety from the database according to the above features. Besides, a mobile and web application (ApricotView) was developed, and the construction mode can be also applied to other varieties of fruit ***, we have collected four difficult-to-identify seed datasets and used the VGG16 model for training, with an accuracy of 97%, which provided an important basis for ApricotView. To address the difficulties in data collection bottlenecking apricot phenomics research, we developed the first apricot database platform of its kind (ApricotDIAP, http://***/) to accumulate, manage, and publicize scientific data of apricot.

Differences in leaf cuticular wax induced by whole-genome duplication in autotetraploid sour jujube

Drought-resistant plants exhibit strong water retention *** this regard,the autotetraploid sour jujube leaves exhibit better water retention than diploid *** comparisons and physiological comparisons of diploid and autotetraploid leaves showed that the autotetraploid leaves had thicker leaf cuticles and more leaf wax accumulation than the diploid leaves,which could reduce cuticle permeability and improve the drought tolerance of *** this study,the cuticular wax crystalloids on the adaxial and abaxial sides of young and mature jujube leaves were observed in the two ploidy types,and unique cuticular wax crystalloids covering a large area of the cuticle on autotetraploid sour jujube leaves may provide an advantage in reducing leaf non-stomata transpiration and improving plant drought *** on the transcriptome,115 differentially expressed genes between diploids and autotetraploids were further analyzed and found to be involved in the accumulation of cuticular wax components,including terpenoids,fatty acids,and lipids,as well as ABC transporter and wax biosynthetic ***,14 genes differentially expressed between glossy autotetraploid leaves and nonglossy diploid leaves,such as LOC107414787,LOC107411574 and LOC107413721,were screened as candidate genes by qRT-PCR *** findings provided insights into how polyploidization improved drought tolerance.

DEAR EDITOR,Big cats,such as Amur tigers(Panthera tigris altaica)and Amur leopards(*** orientalis),are apex predator and have evolved specialized traits for hunting and carnivory(Moya et al.,2022),thus playing a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem integrity by regulating prey-predator ***,human-induced pressures,habitat fragmentation,and environmental alterations have restricted these species in small and isolated ***,all extant big cats are categorized as endangered or threatened according to their conservation *** tigers and Amur leopards share overlapping geographic ranges,habitats,and certain prey species in the forests of Northeast Asia(Jiang et al.,2015).To reduce interspecies conflict,these carnivores exhibit differentiated dietary and temporal *** tigers predominantly prey on large ungulates,while Amur leopards hunt small to medium-sized animals(Sugimoto et al.,2016).Additionally,they occupy different temporal niches,with tigers being active at night and leopards more active during the *** spatial and temporal niche partitioning,interspecific competition between these two species is ***,benefiting from their greater size,have a competitive advantage over leopards,which can manifest in occasional leopard predation by tigers and declines in leopard populations with increasing tiger density(Jiang et al.,2015).Tigers also displace leopards from marginal habitats in nature reserves where they coexist.

Combining bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity profiling provide insights into assessment of geographical features of Chinese jujube

As the largest jujube cultivating areas of the world,the market price and quality of Chinese jujube are obviously affected by its producing regions in ***,traceability of Chinese jujube has become an important *** search the suitable geographical labels of Chinese jujube,26 major cultivars from five geographical regions of China were investigated by evaluating their bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity *** statistical techniques(e,g.,PCA,PLS,VIP value)applied to the above-obtained data were further used to identify geographical origin in different areas of Chinese *** results indicated that the highest median contents of total phenols(TP)and flavonoids(TF)of Chinese jujube were originated from Ningxia and Henan provinces,both of which also exhibited the stronger bioactivity.p-Hydroxybenzoic acid and rutin exhibited the highest contents among the all detected individual phenolic *** highest median contents of cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP),cyclic guanosine monophosphate(cGMP)and polysaccharides were all found in Chinese jujube samples of Xinjiang *** particular,p-hydroxybenzoic acid,rutin,cAMP,cGMP and polysaccharides can be regarded as the potential biomarkers in distinguishing the geographical origin of Chinese ***,the high altitude and latitude might be benefit for the accumulation of cAMP,cGMP and polysaccharides(primary metabolites),and high longitude and annual precipitation maybe improve the contents of TP and TF(secondary metabolites).These information could provide an effective methods in distinguishing the geographical features of Chinese jujube,and also be benefit for the products development.

Chimonanthus praecox is an important ornamental plant and cut flower material in *** blooms in the freezing winter and its flower emits charming ***,in different region the flowering time is *** order to understand the flowering mechanism of *** in the winter,we studied the flower bud differentiation in Spring City-Kunming using paraffin sectioning method in the present *** we compared the differentiation process difference from different *** was found that the temperature is the key factor for its flower bud differentiation and blossom of *** the process of bud differentiation,the temperature 20℃was the optimum for inducing changes from vegetative axillary buds to reproductive buds and subsequent morphological differentiation in *** in the first three differentiation periods—tepal primordial stage,staminal primordial stage and pistil primordial stage,Kunming took the shortest time to finish the process due to very rapid temperature rise to 20℃,whereas,in Zhengzhou the time for these differentiations was the longest,which may be caused by the slow temperature *** May,the high temperature stress forced the flower buds into the first long dormant period in all regions except *** Kunming,the average temperature was only 20–25℃,so the flower bud continued to *** all regions,Kunming is the first to complete whole flower bud differentiation even on the early August,and started the second dormancy very early but very *** the other regions,the plants went through a shorter dormancy and the low temperature broke the dormancy *** the plants of Kunming spent a longer period for the low ***,the low temperature less than 10℃is a key factor to breaking the second *** the regular effects of temperature on flower bud differentiation and blossom is very helpful for florescence regulation of ***.

Assessment on the component pattern of mountain vacation potential suitability in Hunan Province, China

In China,mountain destinations offer more opportunities for vacation than beaches and springs,with a larger national coverage,richer landscapes and various diverse folk *** Province,for example,serves as a typical mountain tourism *** research aims to assess the potential suitability and component pattern of holidaymaking in Hunan Province to support for scientific endeavors and sustainable use of mountain resources in *** approach for mapping potential suitability was constructed based on Weighted Linear Combination(WLC)of six primary factors including terrain,climate suitability period,biology and environment,human activity culture,hydrological landscape,and road infrastructure,which is calculated on the base of eleven secondary factors used as suitability *** hierarchy process(AHP)and geographic information system(GIS)were also integrated into the evaluation models to prepare six single and complex factor suitability maps for mountain *** clustering was used to clarify the component pattern of single factor combinations in each mountain vacation suitability index(MVSI)*** results have shown that:1)Regions with high suitability are distributed with characteristics of significant dispersion and limited aggregation;2)15.89%of the sample mountains are highly suitable,30.78%are moderately suitable,42.61%are marginally suitable and 10.72%are poorly suitable;3)The complexity of index combination corresponding to each level is different;4)Different combinations emphasize different destination *** study reveals the suitability class,characteristics,and limiting factors of mountain vacation in different geographical locations on the provincial *** elements play an instructive role in scientific decision-making and orderly exploitation of resources among Hunan’s Mountain ***,the study can also be used as a basis for the suitability evaluation of mountain vacation in other ar

Comprehensive analysis of antibacterial and anti-hepatoma activity of metabolites from jujube fruit

jujube is one of the most produced dried fruits in China,and it is also a traditional Chinese medicine that enhances immunity and has anti-cancer *** fruit is rich in phenolic compounds,but few reports are available on its biological *** evaluate the biological activities of the phenolic compounds in dried jujube fruit,the composition and content of metabolites in dried jujube fruit were determined by metabolomics,and the antibacterial and anticancer activities of the phenolic compounds were analyzed in dried jujube *** results showed that 463 compounds were identified in dried‘Junzao’fruit,including 102 phenolic *** in vitro activity test showed that the jujube phenolic metabolites had extensive antibacterial effects and caused disruption and nuclear sclerosis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HepG2)*** correlation analysis showed that total phenolic content,quercetin-3-rutinose,and procyanidin B1 were the main active antibacterial and anticancer *** study provides data supporting the application of dried jujube fruit in the development of functional foods,pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

Study on Preparation of Lignin-Containing Nanocellulose from Bamboo Parenchyma

Bamboo vascular bundle fiber and parenchyma(BP)are separated by high-temperature treatment with saturated *** vascular bundle fiber is widely used in the market,but how to develop and utilize parenchyma tissue is a difficult *** sulfated cellulose nanofibers(ANFs)were obtained by sulfating BP with a deep eutectic solvent(DES),which provided a theoretical basis for the value-added utilization of *** DES as the reaction medium and reagent,the BP was grafted with a sulfonic acid group to form a gel substance in water,ANFs and nanocellulose gel were obtained by ultrasonic cell *** highest yield of ANFS was 75%.The width of the ANFs was about 3 nm,and a small number of nanofiber aggregates existed at the same time.A high aspect ratio of ANFs,due to their high viscosity,has potential applications as enhancers at low *** acid(ZnCl 2)added based on binary(DES)greatly improved the thermal stability of the ANFs and maintained the crystal form of cellulose I.

Adaptive mechanisms of Ardisia crenata *** along an elevational gradient on Gaoligong Mountain,Southwest China
