An analysis of farmers'resource disposal methods for livestock and poultry waste and their determinants

based on field research data on farmers in 30 counties(districts)of six cities in Shandong Province,this study systematically examines the methods of disposal of livestock and poultry waste and the factors that influence them,that is,the determinants of farmers’waste disposal behaviors,using the UTAUT theoretical framework and a disordered multi-class logit *** results show that,first,economic performance expectancy,subjective norms,farming population,and poultry and livestock breeding numbers have significant effects on the four waste recycling methods considered:direct return,compost fermentation,biogas fermentation,and fresh-packed ***,annual family income has a positive effect on the direct return ***,compost fermentation is positively affected by farmers'knowledge,distance from sources of water,and farming scale,and negatively affected by gender and marital ***,biogas fermentation is negatively affected by the age of farmers and positively affected by the farming income ratio and environmental ***,the most important factors affecting the four methods are subjective norms,farming scale,economic performance expectancy,and farming ***,this study proposes that policies to promote resource utilization of livestock and poultry waste must prioritize raising awareness among the farmers of the advantages of resource disposal of waste;provide reasonable subsidies for waste recycling and enhance policy applicability,pertinence,and motivation;strengthen the promotion of waste recycling technology and improve the practicality of lectures or training content;and improve relevant laws and regulations and enhance authority and usability.

To identify and establish beneficiation techniques for banded hematite quartzite （BHQ） iron ore, a comprehensive research on BHQ ore treatment was carried out. The BHQ ore was assayed as 38.9wt% Fe, 42.5wt% SiO2, and 1.0wt% Al2O3. In this ore, hematite and quartz are present as the major mineral phases where goethite, martite, and magnetite are present in small amounts. The liberation of hematite particles can be enhanced to about 82% by reducing the particle size to below 63 μm. The rejection of silica particles can be obtained by magnetic and flotation separation techniques. Overall, the BHQ ore can be enriched to 65.3wt% Fe at 61.9% iron recovery. A flowsheet has been suggested for the commercial exploitation of the BHQ ore.

This study aimed to investigate the proximate and phytochemicals present in seeds of 24 mung bean(Vigna radiate L.)genotypes from four provinces of China for estimating their nutritional and antioxidant *** analysis of mung bean genotypes revealed that starch,protein,fat,ash and water-soluble polysaccharide ranged from 39.54–60.66,17.36–24.89,4.24–12.18,2.78–3.53 and 1.99–2.96 g/100 g *** five principal fatty acids detected in mung beans were stearic acid,palmitic acid,linoleic acid,oleic acid,and linolenic *** contents of insoluble-bound phenolic compounds,soluble phenolic compounds,and flavonoids ranged from 0.78 to 1.5 mg GAE g^(-1),1.78 to 4.10 mg GAE g^(-1),and 1.25 to 3.52 mg RE g^(-1),*** black seed coat mung bean genotype M13(Suheilv 1)exhibited highest flavonoid and phenolic contents which showed strong antioxidant *** flavonoids(vitexin and isovitexin)and four phenolic acids(caffeic,syringic acid,p-coumaric,and ferulic acids)were identified by *** and isovitexin were the major phenolic compounds in all mung bean *** content of soluble phenolic compounds had positive correlation with DPPH(r2=0.713)and ABTS(r2=0.665)radical scavenging *** component analysis indicated that the first two principal components could reflect most details on mung bean with a cumulative contribution rate of 66.1%.Twenty-four mung bean genotypes were classified into four groups based on their phenolic compounds contents and antioxidant *** present study highlights the importance of these mung bean genotypes as a source of nature antioxidant ingredient for the development of functional foods or a source of health promoting food.

Liquid-solid fluidized beds are used in mineral processing industries to separate particles based on parti- cle size, density, and shape. Understanding the expanded fluidized bed is vital for accurately assessing its performance. Expansion characteristics of the fluidized bed were studied by performing several experi- ments with iron ore, chromite, quartz, and coal samples. Using water as liquid medium, experiments were conducted to study the effects of particle size, particle density, and superficial velocity on fluidized bed expansion. The experimental data were utilized to develop an empirical mathematical model based on dimensional analysis to estimate the expansion ratio of the fluidized bed in terms of particle character- istics, operating and design parameters. The predicted expansion ratio obtained from the mathematical model is in good agreement with the experimental data.

With the increasing promotion of simplified rapeseed cultivation in recent years,the development of cultivars with high resistance to herbicides is urgently *** previously developed M342,which shows sulfonylurea herbicide resistance,by targeting acetohydroxyacid synthase(AHAS),a key enzyme in branched-chain amino acid *** the present study,we used a progeny line derived from M342 for an additional round of ethyl methane sulfonate mutagenesis,yielding the novel mutant DS3,which harbored two mutations in AHAS genes and showed high sulfonylurea *** mutation was the substitution Trp574 Leu,as in M342,according to Arabidopsis protein *** other site was a newly recognized substitution,Pro197 Leu.A KASP marker targeting Pro197 Leu was developed and reliably predicted the response to sulfonylurea herbicides in the F2 *** combination of Trp574 Leu and Pro197 Leu in DS3 produced a synergistic effect that greatly increased herbicide *** of the protein structures of AHAS1 and AHAS3 in wild-type and single-gene mutant plants revealed three-dimensional protein conformational changes that could account for differences in herbicide resistance characteristics including toxicity tolerance,AHAS enzyme activity,and AHAS gene expression.

Remote sensing tools are becoming increasingly important for providing spatial information on water use by different ecosystems. Despite significant advances in remote sensing based evapotranspiration(ET) models in recent years, important information gaps still exist on the accuracy of the models particularly in arid and semi-arid environments. In this study, we evaluated the Penman-Monteith based MOD16 and the modified Priestley-Taylor(PT-JPL) models at the daily time step against three measured ET datasets. We used data from two summer and one winter rainfall sites in South Africa. One site was dominated by native broad leaf and the other by fine leafed deciduous savanna tree species and C4 grasses. The third site was in the winter rainfall Cape region and had shrubby fynbos vegetation. Actual ET was measured using open-path eddy covariance systems at the summer rainfall sites while a surface energy balance system utilizing the large aperture boundary layer scintillometer was used in the Cape. Model performance varied between sites and between years with the worst estimates(R20.80 mm/d) observed during years with prolonged mid-summer dry spells in the summer rainfall areas. Sensitivity tests on MOD16 showed that the leaf area index, surface conductance and radiation budget parameters had the largest effect on simulated ET. MOD16 ET predictions were improved by:(1) reformulating the emissivity expressions in the net radiation equation;(2) incorporating representative surface conductance values;and(3) including a soil moisture stress function in the transpiration sub-model. Implementing these changes increased the accuracy of MOD16 daily ET predictions at all sites. However, similar adjustments to the PT-JPL model yielded minimal improvements. We conclude that the MOD16 ET model has the potential to accurately predict water use in arid environments provided soil water stress and accurate biome-specific parameters are incorporated.

Compared with conventional cylinder airlift bioreactors(CCABs)that produce coarse bubbles,a novel rectangular dynamic membrane airlift bioreactor(RDMAB)developed in our lab produces fine bubbles to enhance the volumetric oxygen mass transfer coefficient(k_(L)a)and gas holdup,as well as improve the bioprocess in a *** this study,we compared mass transfer,gas holdup,and batch and con-tinuous fermentation for RNA production in CCAB and *** addition,unstructured kinetic models for microbial growth,substrate utilization,and RNA formation were *** batch fermentation,biomass,RNA yield,and substrate utilization in the RDMAB were higher than those in the CCAB,which indicates that dynamic membrane aeration produced a high k_(L)a by fine bubbles;a higher k_(L)a is more bene-ficial to aerobic *** starting time of continuous fermentation in the RDMAB was 20 h ear-lier than that in the CCAB,which greatly improved the biological *** continuous fermentation,maintaining the same dissolved oxygen level and a constant dilution rate,the biomass accumulation and RNA concentration in the RDMAB were 9.71% and 11.15% higher than those in the CCAB,***,the dilution rate of RDMAB was 16.7% higher than that of CCAB during con-tinuous fermentation while maintaining the same air *** summary,RDMAB is more suitable for continuous fermentation *** new aeration and structural geometry in airlift bioreac-tors to enhance k_(L)a and gas holdup is becoming increasingly important to improve bioprocesses in a bioreactor.
