Subsection cooling system of hot rolling silicon steel and its industrial application

An online subsection cooling method for hot rolling silicon steel was designed to achieve local adjustment of transverse roll ***,it was able to meet the requirements of edge drop of the strip by using the features of online thermal ***,after the new subsection spray beam was installed at the exit of mill,the special local cooling rules were analyzed for altering the thermal crown of roll according to rolling process ***,the dynamic impact of subsection cooling on the local thermal crown could just be obtained according to the measured ***,the heat transfer coefficient was determined by different subsection cooling curves under varied rolling ***,the rolling rhythm and variable conditions were important dynamic factors of transient roll temperature in practical rolling ***,real-time calculation and presetting of the thermal crown were carried out to maximize special requirements of load roll gap on local strip *** this new method,the transient temperature and the thermal crown of roll could be quantitatively controlled *** the practical results showed that the predicted temperature was able to match the measured value by more than 95%.Meanwhile,the adjustable range of thermal crown increased by more than 2.5 ***,the qualification rate of strip edge crown has increased from the original 30%to over 70%.

Atomically precise metal nanoclusters(NCs)have been deemed as a new generation of metal nanomaterials in the field of solar energy conversion due to their unique atomic stacking manner,quantum confinement effects,light-harvesting capability and multitude of active ***,wide-spread application of monometallic NCs is blocked by the ultrashort carrier lifespan,uncontrollable charge transport pathway,and light-induced poor stability,impeding the construction of robust and stable metal NC-based ***,we report the fabrication of stable alloy(Au_(1-x)Pt_(x))NCs photosystem,for which tailor-made negatively charged l-glutathione(GSH)-capped Au_(1-x)Pt_(x)NCs as the building blocks are controllably deposited on the Bi VO_(4)(BVO)by a self-assembly approach for steering enhanced light absorption and interfacial charge transfer over alloy NCs-based photoanodes(Au_(1-x)Pt_(x)/BVO).The self-assembled Au_(1-x)Pt_(x)/BVO composite photoanode exhibits the significantly enhanced photoelectrochemical water oxidation performances compared with pristine BVO and Au_(x)/BVO photoanodes,which is caused by the Pt atom doping into the Au_(x)NCs for elevating photosensitivity and boosting the *** synergy of Au and Pt atoms in alloy NCs protects the gold core from rapid oxidation,improving the photostability and accelerating the surface charge transfer *** work would significantly inspire ongoing interest in unlocking the charge transport characteristics of atomically precise alloy NCs for solar energy conversion.

The analysis of spliced column has been carried out to detect optimum location of providing splices in the *** the present work,static and dynamic(free vibration)analyses of spliced column have been done by randomising the location of splicing.A symmetrical four storey steel framed building has been modelled,analysed and designed for loads(dead,live and earthquake loads)recommended by Indian Codal provisions using *** critical column at each floor level is identified based on axial force(AF),bending moment(BM)and shear force(SF).The total 16 models of spliced columns have been designed and then modelled in a 3D CAD Design tool(SOLIDWORKS)and then imported in the finite element tool(ANSYSWorkbench 14.0)for detailed *** variation of stress,strain and deflection of the spliced column are shown in the form of ***,the modal analysis is performed to determine the natural *** results of static and dynamic analyses are compared for each modelled spliced column to obtain the optimum location for providing splices in the *** dynamic analysis of spliced column is of utmost importance in the region where dynamic loadings like earthquake,cyclones *** more frequent,and mere static analysis does not account for the safety of the *** study will help the engineers to select directly the optimum size and location of the splices in the column of a steel framed building.

The paper aims at designing of two stage cascaded ultra-wideband(UWB) low noise amplifier(LNA) by using negative image amplifier technique. The objective of this article is to show the performance improvement using negative image amplifier technique and realization of negative valued lumped elements into microstrip line geometry. The innovative technique to realize the negative lumped elements are carried out by using Richard's Transformation and transmission line calculation. The AWR microwave office tool is used to obtain characteristics of UWB LNA design with hybrid microwave integrated circuit(HMIC) technology. The 2-stage cascaded LNA design using negative image amplifier technique achieves average gain of 23 dB gain and low noise Figure of less than 2 dB with return loss less than-8 dB for UWB 3-10 GHz. The Proper bias circuit is extracted using DC characteristics of transistor at biasing point 2 V, 20 mA and discussed in detail with LNA layout. The negative image matching technique is applied for both input and output matching network. This work will be useful for all low power UWB wireless receiver applications.

In renewable penetrated power systems, frequency instability arises due to the volatile nature of renewable energy sources (RES) and load disturbances. The traditional load frequency control (LFC) strategy from conventional power sources (CPS) alone unable to control the frequency deviations caused by the aforementioned disturbances. Therefore, it is essential to modify the structure of LFC, to handle the disturbances caused by the RES and load. With regards to the above problem, this work proposes a novel coordinated LFC strategy with modified control signal to have Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) for frequency stability enhancement of the Japanese power system. Where, the coordinated control strategy is based on the PID controller, which is optimally tuned by the recently developed JAYA Algorithm (JA). Numerous simulations are performed with the proposed methodology and, the results have confirmed the effectiveness of a proposed approach over some recent and well-known techniques in literature. Furthermore, simulation results reveal that the proposed coordinated approach significantly minimizing the frequency deviations compared to the JAYA optimized LFC without PHEVs & with PHEVs but no coordination.

Improving Performance of a Distributed File System Using a Speculative Semantics-Based Algorithm

File-sharing semantics is used by the file systems for sharing data among concurrent client processes in a consistent manner. Session semantics is a widely used file-sharing semantics in Distributed File Systems(DFSs). The main disadvantage of session semantics is that writes to an open file are visible to the concurrent client processes only during their next session. Recently, "linearizability semantics" was introduced in Blob Seer DFS, in which a Read Client Process(RCP) can read only a previous version of a binary large object(blob), while update operations are carried out on that blob in a concurrent manner. In this paper, we propose a new type of file-sharing semantics, namely "speculative semantics", which permits writes to an open file to be visible to other concurrent processes provided that data consistency is not affected. In addition, we propose a new read algorithm for DFSs based on speculative semantics and a new performance measurement metric called Currency. The experimental results obtained using Blob Seer DFS indicate that the proposed read algorithm performs better than the existing read algorithm of Blob Seer DFS.

The most common form of cancer for women is breast *** advances in medical imaging technologies increase the use of digital mammograms to diagnose breast ***,an automated computerized system with high accuracy is *** this study,an efficient Deep Learning Architecture(DLA)with a Support Vector Machine(SVM)is designed for breast cancer *** combines the ideas from DLA with *** state-of-the-art Visual Geometric Group(VGG)architecture with 16 layers is employed in this study as it uses the small size of 3×3 convolution filters that reduces system *** softmax layer in VGG assumes that the training samples belong to exactly only one class,which is not valid in a real situation,such as in medical image *** overcome this situation,SVM is employed instead of the softmax layer in *** augmentation is also employed as DLA usually requires a large number of *** model with different SVM kernels is built to classify the *** show that the VGG-SVM model has good potential for the classification of Mammographic Image Analysis Society(MIAS)database images with an accuracy of 98.67%,sensitivity of 99.32%,and specificity of 98.34%.
