Underestimated activity-based microplastic intake under scenariospecific exposures

Despite increasing alarms over the health impacts of microplastics(MPs)due to their detection in human organs and feces,precise exposure evaluations remain *** comprehend their risks,there is a distinct need to prioritize quantitive estimates in MP exposome,particularly at the environmentallyrealistic *** we used a method rooted in real-world MP measurements and activity patterns to determine the daily intake of MPs through inhalation and from ground dust/soil *** found that nearly 80%of this intake comes from residential sectors,with activity intensity and behavioral types significantly affecting the human MP *** data showed a peak in MP exposure for those aged *** compared to dietary MP intake sources like seafood,salt,and water,we identified a previously underestimated exposure from inhalation and dust/soil ingestion,emphasizing the need for more realistic evaluations that incorporate activity *** discovery raises questions about the accuracy of past studies and underscores MP's potential health ***,our time-based simulations revealed increased MP intake during the COVID-19 lockdown due to more surface dust ingestion,shedding light on how global health crises may inadvertently elevate MP exposure risks.

A Stochastic Study of the Fractional Order Model of Waste plastic in Oceans

In this paper,a fractional order model based on the management of waste plastic in the ocean(FO-MWPO)is numerically *** mathematical form of the FO-MWPO model is categorized into three components,waste plastic,marine debris,and *** stochastic numerical solvers using the Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation neural networks(LMQBP-NNs)have been applied to present the numerical solutions of the FO-MWPO *** competency of the method is tested by taking three variants of the FO-MWPO model based on the fractional order *** data ratio is provided for training,testing and authorization is 77%,12%,and 11%*** exactness of LMQBP-NNs is observed by using the comparative performances of the obtained and the Adams-BashforthMoulton *** verify the competence,validity,capability,exactness,and consistency of LMQBP-NNs,the performances have been obtained using the regression,state transitions,error histograms,correlation and mean square error.

Microplastic particles smaller than 5 mm in size are of increasing concem, especially in aquatic environments, such as the ocean. Primary source is microbeads （〈 1 mm） used in cosmetics and cleaning agents and fiber fragments from washing of clothes, and secondary source such as broken down plastic litter and debris. These particles are mostly made from polyethylene （PE）, polypropylene （PP）, polystyrene （PS）, polyethylene terephthalate （PET） and polyesters. They are ingested by diverse marine fauna, including zooplanktons, mussel, oyster, shrimp, fish etc. and can enter human food chains via several pathways. Strategy for control of microplastics pollution should primarily focus on source reduction and subsequently on the development of cost-effective clean up and remediation technologies. Recent research results on biodegradation of plastics have revealed a potential for microbial biodegradation and bioremediation of plastic pollutants, such as PE, PS and PET under appropriate conditions.
