Heuristic optimization algorithms have been widely used in solving complex optimization problems in various fields such as engineering,economics,and computer *** algorithms are designed to find high-quality solutions efficiently by balancing exploration of the search space and exploitation of promising *** heuristic optimization algorithms vary in their specific details,they often exhibit common patterns that are essential to their *** paper aims to analyze and explore common patterns in heuristic optimization *** a comprehensive review of the literature,we identify the patterns that are commonly observed in these algorithms,including initialization,local search,diversity maintenance,adaptation,and *** each pattern,we describe the motivation behind it,its implementation,and its impact on the search *** demonstrate the utility of our analysis,we identify these patterns in multiple heuristic optimization *** each case study,we analyze how the patterns are implemented in the algorithm and how they contribute to its *** these case studies,we show how our analysis can be used to understand the behavior of heuristic optimization algorithms and guide the design of new *** analysis reveals that patterns in heuristic optimization algorithms are essential to their *** understanding and incorporating these patterns into the design of new algorithms,researchers can develop more efficient and effective optimization algorithms.

Previous studies have often focused on monitoring grassland growth as the primary target of remote sensing investigations on grassland ecological restoration in the northern Tibetan Plateau,overlooking the crucial role played by gravel in the ecological restoration of these *** study utilizes supervised classification and segmentation techniques based on machine learning to extract gravel morphology profiles from field-sampled plot images and calculate their characteristic *** a multivariate linear approach combined with Principal Component Analysis(PCA),a model for inferring gravel characteristic parameters is *** features,particle size characteristics,and spatial distribution patterns of gravel are *** reveal that gravel predominantly exhibit sub-rounded shapes,with 80%classified as fine *** coefficients of determination(R2)between gravel particle size and coverage,perimeter,and area are 0.444,0.724,and 0.557,respectively,indicating linear *** cumulative contribution rate of the top five remote sensing factors is 95.44%,with the first geological factor contributing 77.64%,collectively reflecting the primary information of the 20 factors *** shows that areas with larger gravel particle sizes correspond to increased perimeter and *** in the Nagqu Prefecture of northern Tibet have a particle size range of 4-8 mm,primarily comprising fine gravel which accounts for 94.61%.These findings provide a scientific basis for extracting gravel characteristic parameters and understanding their spatial distribution variations in the northern Tibetan Plateau.

Background Research on therapeutic processes has explored the elements that enhance psychotherapy’s effectiveness, particularly the role of common factors across various models. The therapist’s use of directiveness and support, as common variables, is crucial for effective treatment. Effective therapists adapt their level of directiveness and support according to the treatment phase, the issue being addressed, and the patient’s characteristics. This study examines the importance therapists attribute to directiveness and support, as well as its relationship with theoretical orientation, access to research publications, and stance on the similar effectiveness of different psychotherapeutic models. It aims to determine whether therapists’ attributions regarding this variable are in line with the importance it is given in process research. Methods Responses from 69 psychotherapists to the Psychotherapeutic Effectiveness Attribution Questionnaire (PEAQ-12), which assesses the importance therapists place on key psychotherapeutic process variables, including the directiveness and support provided, were analyzed. Theoretical orientations, ages, and experience levels were considered. Non-parametric tests, contingency tables, χ 2 tests, t -tests, and ANOVAs were used to assess the variation in responses. Results Common factors were often identified as key contributors to therapeutic healing, though these differences were not statistically significant (χ 2 (2, N = 67) = 3.701, p = 0.157). For the “directiveness and support from the therapist” variable, significant differences were observed: Cognitive-behavioral therapists valued directiveness and support more than psychodynamic therapists ( t (20) = −3.569, p = 0.002; Cohen’s d = 1.18). Therapists who view cognitive-behavioral therapies as most effective also rated this variable higher ( t (38) = 3.816, p < 0.001; Cohen’s d = 1.21). Those regularly accessing specialized psychotherapy research publications valued this variable

AIM:To assess the effect of the intravitreal dexamethasone implant(DEX)Ozurdex on the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and central retinal thickness(CRT)in patients with diabetic macular edema(DME).METHODS:Totally 43 eyes(24 naive and 19 previously treated)were included in the *** and single-center study involved patients with a clinical diagnosed of DME,who received treatment with DEX implant and had a follow-up of at least 12 *** endpoints included changes in BCVA and ***:At month 12,mean improvement in BCVA from baseline was 20.4±20.8 letters and 6.8±6.9 letters in naive and previously treated patients,respectively(P=0.0132).The naive patients achieved the BCVA improvement significantly faster(2.4±1.5 mo)than the previously treated ones(3.5±2.4 mo,P=0.0298;MannWhitney test).The proportion of eyes gaining≥15 letters was 54.2%and 21.1%in the non-previously treated and previously treated groups,respectively(P=0.0293).CRT was significantly reduced from 484.0±119.8 and 487.5±159.9μm to 272.0±39.2 and 233.5±65.7μm in the naive and previously treated patients,respectively;P<0.0001 each,*** presence of subretinal fluid was significantly associated with the proportion of patients achieving a BCVA improvement≥5 letters[HR(95%CI),1.23(1.04 to 1.45),P=0.0145];≥10 letters[HR(95%CI),1.75(1.10 to 2.77),P=0.0182];and≥15 letters[HR(95%CI),2.04(1.03 to 4.02),P=0.0407].Naive patients received less DEX implants throughout the study than the previously treated ones(1.8±0.6 vs 2.3±0.6,P=0.0172,respectively).Totally 9 patients(20.9%)have developed ocular hypertension,which was successfully controlled with topical hypotensive *** the 23 phakic eyes at baseline,5 eyes(21.7%)either had new onset lens opacity or progression of an existing opacity during the study *** of them(2 in the naive group and 2 in the previously treated one)required cataract surgery at months 4,6,6,and 6,***:The results obtained in this

Determinants of Housing Liquidity in Chinese Cities:Does Market Maturity Matter?

Housing liquidity measures the ability to convert housing to cash as an important characteristic of housing stock. A simple model of buyer offers＇ distributions was used to theoretically explore the determinants of housing liquidity in a search process. An empirical ordinary least squares model of the time-on-market was developed using data collected in four Chinese cities （Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen）. The results show that in these four Chinese cities, market maturity dominates the variation of housing liquidity, with the effects of housing characteristics, seller＇s search cost, search strategy, and market conditions being less significant to the time-on-market equation. These empirical results indicate that the slow turn-over of housing stock may constrain the overall level of housing liquidity in major Chinese cities.

This paper examines homebuyer＇s search process and the role of real estate broker in China＇s urban housing market, where inactive housing resale transactions and an immature brokerage industry are distinct characteristics. Guangzhou is used as a case study to model the intensity and duration of the search process. This study finds that buyers make trade-off between two search costs, activity cost and duration cost. The study also demonstrates that despite the industry＇s immature nature, buyers using brokers do increase search intensity and shorten search duration by reducing the activity cost. Empirical results show that there is no specific buyer group who can effectively lower their search cost by their own efforts, due to the poor information transparency in the current housing market. The broker-choice model shows that besides search cost, buyers＇ confidence in broker＇s service quality can also greatly influence their choice, so improvement in service quality and reputation has important implications for China＇s brokerage industry.
