Comparative analysis of real-world data of frequent treatment sequences in metastatic prostate cancer

Background:The incidence of prostate cancer is increasing worldwide.A significant proportion of patients developmetastatic disease and are initially prescribed androgen deprivation therapy(ADT).However,subsequent sequences of treatments in real-world settings that may improve overall survival remain an area of active *** and methods:Data were collected from 384 patients presenting with de novo metastatic prostate cancer from 2011 to 2015 at a tertiary cancer *** were categorized into surviving(n=232)and deceased(n=152)groups at the end of 3 *** sequence pattern mining techniques(Generalized Sequential Pattern Mining and Sequential Pattern Discovery using Equivalence Classes)were applied to determine the exact order of the most frequent sets of treatments in each ***:Degarelix,as the initial form of ADT,was uniquely in the surviving *** sequence of ADT followed by abiraterone and docetaxel was uniquely associated with a higher 3-year overall *** followed by fosfestrol was found to have a unique niche among surviving patients with a long duration of response to the initial *** who received chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy and those who received radiotherapy followed by chemotherapy were found more frequently in the deceased ***:We identified unique treatment sequences among surviving and deceased patients at the end of 3 *** should be the preferred formof *** who received ADT followed by abiraterone and chemotherapy showed better *** requiring palliative radiation and chemotherapy in any sequence were significantlymore frequent in the deceased group,identifying the need to offer such patients the most efficacious agents and to target them in clinical trial design.

Evaluation of Rainfall Tendency for the Twentieth Century over Indira Sagar Region in Central India

The study investigates long-term changes in annual and seasonal rainfall patterns in the Indira Sagar Region of Madhya Pradesh, India, from 1901 to 2010. Agriculture sustainability, food supply, natural resource development, and hydropower system reliability in the region rely heavily on monsoon rainfall. Monthly rainfall data from three stations (East Nimar, Barwani, and West Nimar) were analyzed. Initially, the pre-whitening method was applied to eliminate serial correlation effects from the rainfall data series. Subsequently, statistical trends in annual and seasonal rainfall were assessed using both parametric (student-t test) and non-parametric tests [Mann-Kendall, Sen’s slope estimator, and Cumulative Sum (CUSUM)]. The magnitude of the rainfall trend was determined using Theil-Sen’s slope estimator. Spatial analysis of the Mann-Kendall test on an annual basis revealed a statistically insignificant decreasing trend for Barwani and East Nimar and an increasing trend for West Nimar. On a seasonal basis, the monsoon season contributes a significant percentage (88.33%) to the total annual rainfall. The CUSUM test results indicated a shift change detection in annual rainfall data for Barwani in 1997, while shifts were observed in West and East Nimar stations in 1929. These findings offer valuable insights into regional rainfall behavior, aiding in the planning and management of water resources and ecological systems.

Effect of rock bolt support mechanism on tunnel deformation in jointed rockmass: A numerical approach

A parametric study was conducted to determine the influence of different bolt parameters(bolt length and diameter)on the maximum induced boundary displacements in jointed rockmass,using a numerical method based on finite element *** different types of jointed systems(Type A,Type B,and Type C)were considered and *** A displays normal joint closure,Type B demonstrates a combination of normal and shear joint closure,and in Type C,the majority of the joint is loaded in shear *** ground surface settlement profiles for these three joint systems,under unsupported conditions,are presented in this *** the same rockmass properties,the cases in Type A and Type B exhibit the maximum and minimum settlement,*** each joint type,the effect of variable bolt parameters on the tunnel boundary is studied in terms of the total *** simulation results confirm that an increase in the bolt length does not significantly reduce the boundary displacement,whereas an increase in the bolt diameter substantially reduces the tunnel boundary displacement.

We report the picosecond laser ablation of aluminum targets immersed in a polar organic liquid(chloroform,CHCl3)with^2 ps laser pulses at an input energy of^350μ*** synthesized aluminum nanoparticles exhibited a surface plasmon resonance peak at^340 *** electron microscopy images of Al nanoparticles demonstrated the spherical morphology with an average size of(27±3.6)*** formation of smaller spherical Al nanoparticles and the diminished growth could be from the formation of electric double layers on the Al *** addition to spherical aluminum nanoparticles,triangular/pentagonal/hexagonal nanoparticles were also observed in the colloidal *** emission scanning electron microscopy images of ablated Al targets demonstrated laser induced periodic surface structures(LIPSSs),which were the high spatial frequency LIPSSs(HSF-LIPSSs)since their grating period was^280 ***,coarse structures with a period of^700 nm were observed.

Multimodality management of gallbladder cancer can lead to a better outcome:Experience from a tertiary care oncology centre in North India

BACKGROUND Surgical resection is a treatment of choice for gallbladder cancer(GBC)patients but only 10%of patients have a resectable disease at *** after surgical resection,overall survival(OS)has been poor due to high rates of *** of surgery and systemic therapy can improve outcomes in this aggressive *** To summarize our single-center experience with multimodality management of resectable GBC *** Data of all patients undergoing surgery for suspected GBC from January 2012 to December 2018 was retrieved from a prospectively maintained electronic *** extracted included demographics,operative and perioperative details,histopathology,neoadjuvant/adjuvant therapy,follow-up,and *** know the factors associated with recurrence and OS,univariate and multivariate analysis was done using log rank test and cox proportional hazard analysis for categorical and continuous variables,*** analysis was done using multiple regression *** Of 274 patients with GBC taken up for surgical resection,172(62.7%)were female and the median age was 56 *** exploration,102 patients were found to have a metastatic or unresectable disease(distant metastasis in 66 and locally unresectable in 34).Of 172 patients who finally underwent surgery,93(54%)underwent wedge resection followed by anatomical segment IVb/V resection in 66(38.4%)and modified extended right hepatectomy in 12(7%)*** postoperative mortality at 90 d was 4.6%.During a median follow-up period of 20 mo,71(41.2%)patients developed *** 1-,3-,and 5-years OS rates were 86.5%,56%,and 43.5%,*** 1-and 3-year disease free survival(DFS)rates were 75%and 49.2%,*** multivariate analysis,inferior OS was seen with pT3/T4 tumor(P=0.0001),perineural invasion(P=0.0096),and R+resection(P=0.0125).However,only pT3/T4 tumors were associated with a poor DFS(P<0.0001).CONCLUSION Multim

Assessment of biomass and net primary productivity of a dry tropical forest using geospatial technology

This study quantifies biomass, aboveground and belowground net productivity, along with additional environmental factors over a 2-3 year period in Barnawapara Sanctuary of Chhattisgarh, India through satellite remotesensing and GIS techniques. Ten sampling quadrates20×20, 5×5 and 1×1 m were randomly laid for overstorey (OS), understorey (US) and ground vegetation(GS), respectively. Girth of trees was measured at breast height and collar diameters of shrubs and herbs at 0.1 m height. Biomass was estimated using allometric regression equations and herb biomass by harvesting. Net primary productivity (NPP) was determined by Ssumming biomass increment and litter crop values. Aspect and slope influenced the vegetation types, biomass and NPP in different forests. Standing biomass and NPP varied from 18.6 to101.5 Mg ha^(-1) and 5.3 to 12.7 Mg ha^(-1) a^(-1), respectively,in different forest types. The highest biomass was found in dense mixed forest, while net production recoded in Teak forests. Both were lowest in degraded mixed forests of different forest types. OS, US and GS contributed 90.4, 8.7and 0.7%, respectively, for the total mean standing biomass in different forests. This study developed spectral models for the estimation of biomass and NPP using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index and other vegetation *** study demonstrated the potential of geospatial tools for estimation of biomass and net productivity of dry tropical forest ecosystem.

Tuna classification using super learner ensemble of region-based CNN-grouped 2D-LBP models

Tuna is superior among the marine fishes that are exported in the forms of raw fish and processed *** of Tuna into their species is done in industries manually,and the process is *** work proposes an automated system for classifying Tuna spe-cies based on their *** ensemble of region-based deep neural networks is used.A sub region contrast stretching operation is applied to enhance the *** fish image is then divided into three regions and is augmented before giving as input to pre-trained convolutional neural networks(CNN).After fine-tuning the models,the output from the last convolutional layer is given to a grouped 2D-local binary pattern descriptor(G2DLBP).Statistical features from the descriptor are applied to different classifiers,and the best clas-sifier for each image region model is *** ensemble methods are subse-quently used to combine the three CNN-G2DLBP *** the ensemble techniques,super learner ensemble method with random forest(RF)classifier using 5-fold cross-validation shows the highest classification accuracy of 97.32%.The perfor-mance of different ensemble methods is analyzed in terms of accuracy,precision,recall,and *** proposed system shows an accuracy of 93.91% when evaluated with an independent test *** ensemble of region-based CNN with textural features from G2DLBP is applied for the first time for fish classification.

Influence of bimodal grain size distribution on the corrosion behavior of friction stir processed biodegradable AZ31 magnesium alloy

In the present study,AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets were processed by friction stir processing(FSP)to investigate the effect of the grain refinement and grain size distribution on the corrosion *** refinement from a starting size of 16.4±6.8µm to 3.2±1.2µm was attained after ***,bimodal grain size distribution was observed in the nugget zone with a combination of coarse(11.62±8.4µm)and fine grains(3.2±1.2µm).Due to the grain refinement,a slight improvement in the hardness was found in the nugget zone of FSPed *** bimodal grain size distribution in the stir zone showed pronounced influence on the corrosion rate of FSPed AZ31 as observed from the immersion and electrochemical *** the X-ray diffraction analysis,more amount of Mg(OH)_(2) was observed on FSPed AZ31 compared with the unprocessed *** measurements demonstrated the higher corrosion current density for FSPed AZ31(8.92×10^(−5)A/cm^(2))compared with the unprocessed condition(2.90×10^(−5)A/cm^(2))that can be attributed to the texture effect and large variations in the grain size which led to non-uniform galvanic intensities.
