Surface integrity characterization of thirdgeneration nickel-based single crystal blade tenons after ultrasonic vibration-assisted grinding

Machined surface integrity of workpieces in harsh environments has a remarkable influence on their ***,the complexity of the new type of machining hinders a comprehensive understanding of machined surface integrity and its formation mechanism,thereby limiting the study of component *** increasing demands for high-quality machined workpieces in aerospace industry applications,researchers from academia and industry are increasingly focusing on post-machining surface *** profile grinding test was conducted on a novel single-crystal superalloy to simulate the formation of blade tenons,and the obtained tenons were characterized for surface integrity elements under various operating *** revealed that ultrasonic vibration-assisted grinding(UVAG)led to multiple superpositions of abrasive grain trajectories,causing reduced surface roughness(an average reduction of approximately29.6%)compared with conventional *** examining the subsurface layer of UVAG using transmission electron microscopy,the results revealed that the single-crystal tenon grinding subsurface layer exhibited a gradient evolution from the near-surface to the *** evolution was characterized by an equiaxed nanocrystalline layer measuring 0.34μm,followed by a submicrocrystalline grain-forming zone spanning 0.6μm and finally,a constituent phase-twisted dis-torted deformation zone over 0.62μ*** normal grinding conditions,the tenon exhibited low surface hardening(not exceeding 15%),and residual compressive stresses were observed on its *** cases where grinding burns occurred,a white layer appeared on the tenon's surface,which demonstrated varying thicknesses along the teeth from top to root due to thermal-force-structural coupling ***,these burns introduced residual tensile stresses on the tenon's surface,potentially substantially affecting its fatigue *** paper enhances our understanding of UVAG pro

It is of great significance to accurately and rapidly identify shale lithofacies in relation to the evaluation and prediction of sweet spots for shale oil and gas reservoirs. To address the problem of low resolution in logging curves, this study establishes a grayscale-phase model based on high-resolution grayscale curves using clustering analysis algorithms for shale lithofacies identification, working with the Shahejie Formation, Bohai Bay Basin, China. The grayscale phase is defined as the sum of absolute grayscale and relative amplitude as well as their features. The absolute grayscale is the absolute magnitude of the gray values and is utilized for evaluating the material composition(mineral composition + total organic carbon) of shale, while the relative amplitude is the difference between adjacent gray values and is used to identify the shale structure type. The research results show that the grayscale phase model can identify shale lithofacies well, and the accuracy and applicability of this model were verified by the fitting relationship between absolute grayscale and shale mineral composition, as well as corresponding relationships between relative amplitudes and laminae development in shales. Four lithofacies are identified in the target layer of the study area: massive mixed shale, laminated mixed shale, massive calcareous shale and laminated calcareous shale. This method can not only effectively characterize the material composition of shale, but also numerically characterize the development degree of shale laminae, and solve the problem that difficult to identify millimeter-scale laminae based on logging curves, which can provide technical support for shale lithofacies identification, sweet spot evaluation and prediction of complex continental lacustrine basins.

Developing cost-effective and high-performance catalyst systems for dry reforming of methane(DrM)is crucial for producing hydrogen(H_(2))***,we investigate using iron(Fe)as a promoter and major alumina support in Ni-based catalysts to improve their DrM *** addition of iron as a promotor was found to add reducible iron species along with reducible Nio species,enhance the basicity and induce the deposition of oxidizable *** incorporating 1 wt.%Fe into a 5Ni/10ZrAl catalyst,a higher Co_(2) interaction and formation of reducible"Nio-species having strong interaction with support"was observed,which led to an∼80%H_(2) yield in 420 min of Time on Stream(ToS).Further increasing the Fe content to 2 wt.%led to the formation of additional reducible iron oxide species and a noticeable rise in H_(2) yield up to 84%.Despite the severe weight loss on Fe-promoted catalysts,high H_(2) yield was maintained due to the proper balance between the rate of CH_(4) decomposition and the rate of carbon deposit ***,incorporating 3 wt.%Fe into the 5Ni/10ZrAl catalyst resulted in the highest Co_(2) interaction,wide presence of reducible Nio-species,minimumgraphitic deposit and an 87%H_(2) *** findings suggest that ironpromoted zirconia-alumina-supported Ni catalysts can be a cheap and excellent catalytic system for H_(2) production via DrM.

Si-containing Mg alloys solidified at conventional rates often contain coarse and sharp Mg2Si phases,which can result in inferior material *** this study,Mg-6wt.%Si （Mg-6Si） alloy was prepared by wire arc additive manufacturing （WAAM）,employing the gas tungsten arc welding technique with rapid *** microstructures and mechanical properties of the WAAM alloy were investigated and compared with those of the as-cast samples produced using a metal *** results indicate that the WAAM Mg-6Si is harder and stronger than the as-cast *** microhardness of the WAAM Mg-6Si increases by 36.6%in comparison to that of as-cast Mg-6Si ***,the average tensile strengths at room temperature and 150°C increases by 63.4%and 21.3%,*** refines both the Mg2Si phase and the overall grains,resulting in a homogeneous morphology and improved mechanical *** granular Mg2Si phase,characterized by fine particles with a diffused distribution,shows a significant increase in *** acicular Mg2Si phase is distributed along the grain boundaries,and its concentration significantly *** average grain size of the Mg2Si phase is about 9.20μm,about 5 times *** refinement and distribution of the granular Mg2Si phase,as well as the reduction in the amount of needle-like Mg2Si particles,are the key factors for improving the mechanical properties of WAAM Mg-6Si alloy.
