Impact of agricultural intensification on soil organic carbon＂ A study using DNDC in Huantai County, Shandong Province, China

Using the biogeochemical model den itrification/decomposition （DN DC）, the dynamic changes of soil organic carbon （SOC） of farmland from the 1980s to 2030s were investigated in Huantai County, a typical intensive agricultural region in the Huang- Huai-Hai Plain of China. Prior to modelling, validation of the DNDC model against field data sets of SOC from quzhou Experimental Station in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain was conducted at the site scale. We compared the simulated results with the observed SOC in Huantai County during 1982-2011 under two different classification methods of simulation unit （the first method integrated soil type and land use of Huantai County to form the overlapped modeling units; the second selected the 11 administrative towns as the modeling units）, and achieved a high accuracy in the model simulation with the improvement of the model parameters. Regional SOC （0-20 cm） density and stocks for Huantai County in the years 2012-2031 were predicted under different scenarios of farming management. Compared with current management practices, optimized fertilization （20% decrease of mineral N）, crop straw incorporation （90%） and appropriate animal manure input （40 kg N ha-1 yr-1） could achieve the highest level of SOC density （56.8% higher than 2011） in the period of 2012-2031. The research highlighted the importance of crop straw incorporation, optimized N fertilization and integration of crop production with ani- mal husbandry on the farmland carbon sequestration for maintaining a high land productivity in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain.

[Objectives]The paper was to determine the physicochemical characteristics and antioxidant activity of three polysaccharide fractions(HP1,HP2 and HP3)obtained by ethanol precipitation from cold water,hot water and hot aqueous NaOH extracts of the fruiting body of Hericium erinaceus.[Methods]The chemical components,antioxidant and moisture-preserving activities of the three polysaccharides were determined.[Results]All the three polysaccharide extracts showed similar physicochemical characteristics and FT-IR ***1,which had the highest sugar content and lowest molecular weight,exhibited the best antioxidant activities against DPPH and hydroxyl ***3 exhibited the greatest ability to absorb and retain moisture.[Conclusions]These data demonstrate the potential utility of polysaccharides extracted form *** in the cosmetics,food and pharmaceutical industries.

Background::Patients who have hematological malignancies are more likely to be immunodeficient,and therefore have a higher risk of developing more severe coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).He et *** patients with hematologic malignancies during the initial COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan and reported that the incidence of COVID-19 was 10% and the mortality rate was 62%.Even after emergence of the less virulent Omicron variant of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2) in November 2021,immunocompromised patients still have high rates of hospitalization and death due to ***:We performed a retrospective multicenter study of a cohort of 289 patients from 16 hospitals in Zhejiang Province(East China) who had baseline non-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL) or multiple myeloma(MM) and *** observations were from December 2022 to February 2023,a period when Omicron was by far the most prevalent variant in China and ***:Univariate analysis showed that some clinical characteristics,including elder age(P=0.014),renal disease(P=0.015),multiple comorbid conditions(P=0.011),and receipt of active antineoplastic therapy(P=0.018) were associated with an increased risk of severe/critical *** with severe/critical COVID-19 had significantly lower levels of lymphocytes and serum albumin,and significantly higher levels of D-dimer,lactate dehydrogenase,C-reactive protein,and interleukin-6(all P <0.05).Fifty-four patients(18.7%) had symptoms that persisted 3 or more weeks,suggesting the possibility of long-COVID,a topic that deserves further investigation in large cohorts with long-term *** of the inactivated vaccine was unrelated to disease severity(P=0.143),which confirmed that many patients with hematologic malignancies had failed to develop humoral immunity to ***:Our findings provided several key recommendations for clinical management of Chinese patients with hematologic malignancies in the

Background:Previous studies have demonstrated the preclinical pharmacological and toxicological consistency,and clinical pharmacokinetic equivalence of bevacizumab biosimilar LY01008 with reference bevacizumab(Avastin).This randomized controlled trial aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of LY01008 with Avastin in first-line treatment of Chinese patients with advanced or recurrent non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:StageⅢB-ⅣNSCLC patients with evaluable lesions,good physical status,and adequate organ functions from 67 centers across China were randomized in a ratio of 1:1 to receive LY01008 or Avastin 15 mg/kg intravenously in combination with paclitaxel/carboplatin(combined treatment)for 4-6 cycles,followed by maintenance monotherapy with LY01008 until disease progression,intolerable toxicity,or *** primary endpoint was objective response rate(ORR)in accordance with Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(RECIST)version 1.1 confirmed by independent radiological review committees(IRRC).Secondary endpoints included disease control rate(DCR),duration of response(DoR),progression-free survival(PFS),overall survival(OS),and *** study was registered in Clinical ***(NCT03533127).Results:Between December 15^(th),2017,and May 15^(th),2019,a total of 649 patients were randomized to the LY01008(n=324)or Avastin(n=325)*** of September 25th,2019 for primary endpoint analysis,589 patients received ORR evaluation,with a median number of combined treatment cycles of 5(range 1-6)andmedian duration of treatment of 3.0(range 0.0-5.1)*** responseevaluable patients in the LY01008 and Avastin groups were 48.5% and 53.0%,*** stratified ORR ratio was 0.91(90%CI 0.80-1.04,within the prespecified equivalence margin of 0.75-1.33).Up to May 15^(th),2020,with a median follow-up of 13.6(range 0.8-28.4)months,no notable differences in DCR,median DoR,median PFS,median OS,and 1-year OS rate were observed between the LY010

Rare-earth-doped upconversion(UC)materials are ideal candidates for solar photovoltaic conversion and NIR response devices due to their unique spectral conversion ***,their low efficiency remains a tremendous challenge for practical ***,we constructed an efficient NIR light-responsive device by coating a Si-photoresistor with a transparent gel consisting of UC powders and an organic polymer *** show that reasonable introduction of alkali metal ions(Na~+,K~+,and Cs~+)into the lattice of UC crystals results in the improvement of photoelectricity conversion efficiency,due to the high crystallinity and surface reconstruction caused by alkali metal ion doping.

Globally,the reduction of excessive N losses and greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions is a central environmental challenge in the 21 *** has huge associated emissions during both production and land application *** addition,70%of N fertilizer in China is produced and land applied as urea,which has high associated *** study utilized life cycle analysis to compare the carbon emission capacity of different N fertilizers and quantified GHG emissions from different N fertilizer chains within *** enabled a new innovative reform model to be proposed,which aims to decrease the carbon footprint and increase the net ecosystem carbon budget of *** results showed that the carbon footprint of the N fertilizer industry was about 229 Tg·yr^(-1)CO_(2)-eq in *** changes away from urea through the production and land application of a mix of newly emerging fertilizers,liquid fertilizers and standard fertilizer reductions to 174–182 Tg·yr^(-1)CO_(2)-*** the upgrading of mineral N fertilizer production technology,the carbon footprint of N fertilizer chain can be reduced by34.8 Tg·yr^(-1)CO_(2)-*** reductions would reduce China's total GHG emissions to 140–147 Tg·yr^(-1)CO_(2)-eq.
