Peripheral nerve injury is a common neurological condition that often leads to severe functional limitations and *** on the pathogenesis of peripheral nerve injury has focused on pathological changes at individual injury sites,neglecting multilevel pathological analysis of the overall nervous system and target *** has led to restrictions on current therapeutic *** this paper,we first summarize the potential mechanisms of peripheral nerve injury from a holistic perspective,covering the central nervous system,peripheral nervous system,and target *** peripheral nerve injury,the cortical plasticity of the brain is altered due to damage to and regeneration of peripheral nerves;changes such as neuronal apoptosis and axonal demyelination occur in the spinal *** nerve will undergo axonal regeneration,activation of Schwann cells,inflammatory response,and vascular system regeneration at the injury *** damage to target organs can occur,including skeletal muscle atrophy and sensory receptor *** then provide a brief review of the research advances in therapeutic approaches to peripheral nerve *** main current treatments are conducted passively and include physical factor rehabilitation,pharmacological treatments,cell-based therapies,and physical ***,most treatments only partially address the problem and cannot complete the systematic recovery of the entire central nervous system-peripheral nervous system-target organ ***,we should further explore multilevel treatment options that produce effective,long-lasting results,perhaps requiring a combination of passive(traditional)and active(novel)treatment methods to stimulate rehabilitation at the central-peripheral-target organ levels to achieve better functional recovery.

Background:Determining the incidence and prevalence of injury and illness in short-course triathletes would improve understanding of their etiologies and therefore assist in the development and implementation of prevention *** study synthesizes the existing evidence on the incidence and prevalence of injury and illness and summarizes reported injury or illness etiology and risk factors affecting short-course ***:This review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses *** reporting health problems(injury and illness)in triathletes(all sexes,ages,and experience levels)training and/or competing in short-course distances were *** electronic databases(Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,MEDLINE,Embase,APA PsychINFO,Web of Science Core Collection,and sportDiscus)were *** of bias was independently assessed by 2 reviewers using the Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment *** authors independently completed data ***:The search yielded 7998 studies,with 42 studies eligible for ***-three studies investigated injuries,24 studies investigated illnesses,and 5 studies investigated both injuries and *** injury incidence rate ranged 15.7-24.3 per 1000 athlete exposures,and the illness incidence rate ranged 1.8-13.1 per 1000 athlete *** and illness prevalence ranged between 2%-15%and 6%-84%,*** injuries reported occurred during running(45%-92%),and the most frequently reported illnesses affected the gastrointestinal(7%-70%),cardiovascular(14%-59%),and respiratory systems(5%-60%).Conclusion:The most frequently reported health problems in short-course triathletes were:overuse and lower limb injuries associated with running;gastrointestinal illnesses and altered cardiac function,primarily attributable to environmental factors;and respiratory illness mostly caused by infection.

Purpose Elite endurance runners frequently utilise live high-train high(LHTH)altitude training to improve endurance per-formance at sea level(SL).Individual variability in response to the hypoxic exposure have resulted in contradictory *** the present case study,changes in total haemoglobin mass(tHbmass)and physiological capacity,in response to 4-weeks of LHTH were *** tested if a hypoxic sensitivity test(HST)could predict altitude-induced adaptations to *** Fifteen elite athletes were selected to complete 4-weeks of LHTH(~2400 m).Athletes visited the laboratory for preliminary testing(PRE),to determine lactate threshold(LT),lactate turn point(LTP),maximal oxygen uptake VO_(2max)and *** LHTH,athletes completed daily physiological measures[arterial oxygen saturation(SpO2)and body mass]and subjective wellbeing *** was repeated,for those who completed the full camp,post-LHTH(POST).Additionally,athletes completed the HST prior to *** A difference(P<0.05)was found from PRE to POST in average tHbmass(1.8%±3.4%),VO_(2max)(2.7%±3.4%),LT(6.1%±4.6%)and LTP(5.4%±3.8%),after 4-weeks *** revealed a decrease in oxygen saturation at rest(ΔSp_(r))and higher hypoxic ventilatory response at rest(HVRr)predicted individual changes *** hypoxic cardiac response at rest(HCRr)and higher HVRr predicted individual changes VO_(2max).Conclusion Four weeks of LHTH at~2400 m increased tHbmass and enhanced physiological capacity in elite endurance *** was no observed relationship between these changes and baseline characteristics,pre-LHTH serum ferritin levels,or reported incidents of musculoskeletal injury or *** HST did however,estimate changes in tHbmass and VO_(2max).HST prior to LHTH could allow coaches and practitioners to better inform the acclimatisation strategies and train-ing load application of endurance runners at altitude.

New neurons are continuously generated from resident pools of neural stem and precursor cells(NSPCs)in the adult *** are multiple pathways through which adult neurogenesis is regulated,and here we review the role of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR)in regulating the proliferation of NSPCs in the adult ***-dependent learning tasks,enriched environments,running,and activity-dependent synaptic plasticity,all potently up-regulate hippocampal NSPC *** first consider the requirement of the NMDAR in activity-dependent synaptic plasticity,and the role the induction of synaptic plasticity has in regulating NSPCs and newborn *** address how specific NMDAR agonists and antagonists modulate proliferation,both in vivo and in vitro,and then review the evidence supporting the hypothesis that NMDARs are present on *** believe it is important to understand the mechanisms underlying the activation of adult neurogenesis,given the potential that endogenous stem cell populations have for repopulating the hippocampus with functional new *** conditions such as age-related memory decline,neurodegeneration and psychiatric disease,mature neurons are lost or become defective;as such,stimulating adult neurogenesis may provide a therapeutic strategy to overcome these conditions.

The perception of pain involves the activation of the spinal pathway as well as the supra-spinal pathway,which targets brain regions involved in affective and cognitive *** and emotions have the capacity to influence each other reciprocally;negative emotions,such as depression and anxiety,increase the risk for chronic pain,which may lead to anxiety and *** amygdala is a key-player in the expression of emotions,receives direct nociceptive information from the parabrachial nucleus,and is densely innervated by noradrenergic brain *** recent years,the amygdala has attracted increasing interest for its role in pain perception and *** this review,we will give a short overview of structures involved in the pain pathway,zoom in to afferent and efferent connections to and from the amygdala,with emphasis on the direct parabrachio-amygdaloid pathway and discuss the evidence for amygdala’s role in pain processing and *** addition to the involvement of the amygdala in negative emotions during the perception of pain,this brain structure is also a target site for many neuromodulators to regulate the perception of *** will end this article with a short review on the effects of noradrenaline and its role in hypoalgesia and analgesia.

Research has shown that the hypomagnetic field(HMF)can affect embryo development,cell proliferation,learning and memory,and in vitro tubulin *** the present study,we aimed to elucidate the molecular mechanism by which the HMF exerts its effect,by comparing the transcriptome profiles of human neuroblastoma cells exposed to either the HMF or the geomagnetic field.A total of 2464 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified,216 of which were up-regulated and2248 of which were down-regulated after exposure to the *** DEGs were found to be significantly clustered into several key processes,namely macromolecule localization,protein transport,RNA processing,and brain *** DEGs were verified by real-time quantitative PCR,and the expression levels of nine of these DEGs were measured every 6 *** notably,MAPK1 and CRY2,showed significant up-and down-regulation,respectively,during the first 6 h of HMF exposure,which suggests involvement of the MAPK pathway and cryptochrome in the early bio-HMF *** results provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the observed biological effects of the HMF.

In this paper, the problem of moving object detection in aerial video is addressed. While motion cues have been extensively exploited in the literature, how to use spatial information is still an open problem. To deal with this issue, we propose a novel hierarchical moving target detection method based on spatiotemporal saliency. Temporal saliency is used to get a coarse segmentation, and spatial saliency is extracted to obtain the object＇s appearance details in candidate motion regions. Finally, by combining temporal and spatial saliency information, we can get refined detection results. Additionally, in order to give a full description of the object distribution, spatial saliency is detected in both pixel and region levels based on local contrast. Experiments conducted on the VIVID dataset show that the proposed method is efficient and accurate.

A new genus of the deep-sea pontoniine shrimps,Bathymenes gen. nov.,is established for the 'Periclimenes alcocki species group' of the genus Periclimenes Costa,1844. The new genus is distinguished from other genera of the Pontoniinae by a combination of characters: the posteriormost dorsal rostral tooth remote from other teeth,situated in the epigastric position,cornea usually reduced,the propodus of second pereiopods covered with fine granules,the dactylus of the major second chela being generally flanged,the ambulatory pereiopods with the dactyli being biunguiculate and telson with more than two pairs of dorsolateral spines. The genus is mainly distributed in the tropical to warm-temperate Indo-West Pacific waters at depths greater than 200 m. Fifteen species previously recognized as belonging to the 'P.a lcocki species group' are now placed in Bathymenes gen. nov. A key for their identification and a checklist of congeneric species are provided.
