Introduction:Open-cut coal mining began in central queensland’s Bowen Basin approximately 50 years *** this period of time,mine rehabilitators have used a variety of tree,shrub,and groundcover species to create‘novel ecosystems’to stabilise soils and provide vegetative cover for pre-supposed final end-land *** examine post-mining rehabilitation from multiple soil and vegetation monitoring activities in the Bowen Basin to assess the similarity of landforms,plant composition,and trends in plant diversity compared to unmined reference ***:Rehabilitated spoil dumps and reference sites were assessed using soil and vegetation data contained in compliance monitoring reports from Goonyella Riverside,Moura,Oaky Creek,Rolleston,and Blackwater ***,soil chemistry,and plant species mixes of rehabilitation aged from 2 to 22 years were compared to selected reference ***:Mines in this region have generally proposed one of two post-rehabilitation end-land uses:either pasture for cattle grazing or reconstructed native communities which potentially provide native fauna *** data from a selection of these mine sites suggest that when their rehabilitation was compared to nearby reference sites median slope values were between 2.5 and 7 times steeper and soil pH,electrical conductivity,and phosphorus levels were significantly *** steeply sloped landforms,poor soil characteristics,depauperate native species pool,and uniform presence of exotic pasture grasses in the rehabilitation indicate that most of these newly created ecosystems should not be used for cattle grazing and also have few natural ***:Legislative and community expectations have changed progressively over time and,although much of the rehabilitation is currently dominated by an assemblage of exotic buffel grass(Cenchrus ciliaris)and Acacia spp.,recent environmental authorities suggest these‘novel ecosystems’will be judged against native refere

Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)have dominated the portable electronic and electrochemical energy markets since their commercialisation,whose high cost and lithium scarcity have prompted the development of other alkali-ion batteries(AIBs)including sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)and potassium-ion batteries(PIBs).Owing to larger ion sizes of Na^(+)and K^(+)compared with Li^(+),nanocomposites with excellent crystallinity orientation and well-developed porosity show unprecedented potential for advanced lithium/sodium/potassium *** enticing open rigid framework structures,Prussian blue analogues(PBAs)remain promising self-sacrificial templates for the preparation of various nanocomposites,whose appeal originates from the well-retained porous structures and exceptional electrochemical activities after thermal *** review focuses on the recent progress of PBA-derived nanocomposites from their fabrication,lithium/sodium/potassium storage mechanism,and applications in AIBs(LIBs,SIBs,and PIBs).To distinguish various PBA derivatives,the working mechanism and applications of PBA-templated metal oxides,metal chalcogenides,metal phosphides,and other nanocomposites are systematically evaluated,facilitating the establishment of a structure–activity correlation for these *** on the fruitful achievements of PBA-derived nanocomposites,perspectives for their future development are envisioned,aiming to narrow down the gap between laboratory study and industrial reality.

China attracted a record of US$52.7× 10^9 in foreign direct investment （FDI） in the year 2002, surpassing the United States to become the world＇s largest FDI recipient. China＇s success in attracting FDI has received significant attention from academics. Several theoretical approaches have been developed to explain the determinants of FDI in China. However, it seems to be ignored that China has also become a growing provider of significant FDI to the rest of the world. According to United Nations Conference on Trade and Developlnent （UNCTAD）＇s 2004 report, as a developing country, replacing Japan, China has made the list of the expected top five home countries worldwide for the first time in terms of geographical coverage （2004-2005）. Vietnam is second largest market and another emerging transition tiger in Southeast Asia. Both China and Vietnam were and are experiencing transitions from centrally planned economy to free market economy. This paper, therefore, attempts to explore the development of Chinese investment in Vietnam, analysing the main motives for, and characteristics of, Chinese Multinational Enterprises＇（MNEs） investment in Vietnam.

The use of selective laser melting(SLM)to produce titanium matrix composites(TMCs)with high strength while retaining sufficient tensile ductility suitable for structural applications is emerging as an attractive opportunity in the field of advanced ***,the presence of coarse ceramic reinforcements as well as difficulties in optimizing the SLM process is a barrier to the application of *** this study,we demonstrated the production of TMCs reinforced with in situ high aspect ratio Ti B nanowhiskers by selective laser melting using nanosized BN powder *** Ti with 2.5 vol.%nanosized BN powder showed promise for producing high performance TMCs with retained *** acted to produce Ti B nanowhiskers with diameter<50 ***,by controlling post process furnace annealing Ti B retained a low diameter but exhibited a high aspect ratio,up to *** addition to Ti B refinement,nanosized BN addition promoted grain refinement during SLM,both acting as a solute to induce nucleation events and,as Ti B is formed,providing nucleation sites leading to an ultrafine grain structure in as printed samples and after *** produced TMCs exhibit high tensile yield strength,up to1392 MPa,while retaining tensile ductility up to 10%.This study has shown how nanoscale design in powder bed fusion additive manufacturing techniques can be used to produce high performance TMCs through a combination of refined grain structure and high aspect ratio Ti B leading to TMCs with significant improvement in strength,isotropic properties and retained tensile ductility.

The rational design of nano-carriers is critical for modem enzyme immobilization for advanced biocatalysis. Herein, we report the synthesis of octadecylalkyl- modified mesoporous-silica nanoparticles （C18-MSNs） with a high C18 content （-19 wt.%） and tunable pore sizes （1.6--13 nm）. It is demonstrated that the increased hydrophobic content and a tailored pore size （slightly larger than the size of lipase） are responsible for the high performance of immobilized lipase. The optimized C18-MSNs exhibit a loading capacity of 711 mg/g and a specific activity 5.23 times higher than that of the free enzyme. Additionally, 93% of the initial activity is retained after reuse five times, which is better than the best performance reported to date. Our findings pave the way for the robust immobilization of lipase for biocatalytic applications.

The importance of natural enemies as the foundation of integrated pest management （IPM） is widely accepted, but few studies conduct the manipulative field experiments necessary to directly quantify their impact on pest populations in this context. This is particularly true for predators. Studying arthropod predator-prey interactions is inherently difficult： prey items are often completely consumed, individual predator-prey interactions are ephemeral （rendering their detection difficult） and the typically fluid or soft-bodied meals cannot be easily identified visually within predator guts. Serological techniques have long been used in arthropod predator gut-contents analysis, and current enzyme linked immunosorbent assays （ELISA） are highly specific and sensitive. Recently, poly- merase chain reaction （PCR） methods for gut-contents analysis have developed rapidly and they now dominate the diagnostic methods used for gut-contents analysis in field-based research. This work has identified trophic linkages within food webs, determined predator diet breadth and preference, demonstrated the importance of cannibalism and intraguild predation within and between certain taxa, and confirmed the benefits （predator persis- tence） and potential disadvantages （reduced feeding on pest species） of the availability of alternative nonpest prey. Despite considerable efforts to calibrate gut-contents assays, these methods remain qualitative. Available techniques for predator gut-contents analysis can provide rapid, accurate, cost-effective identification of predation events. As such, they perfectly compliment the ecological methods developed to directly assess predator im- pacts on prey populations but which are imperfect at identifying the key predators. These diagnostic methods for gut-contents analysis are underexploited in agricultural research and they are almost never applied in unison with the critical field experiments to measure predator impact.
