Garden pea productivity and qualities are hampered in zinc(Zn),boron(B),and molybdenum(Mo)deficient ***,the combination of micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)and rhizobium is necessary to increase the productivity and quality of garden peas,since this management for garden peas is neglected in ***,the present study was made to assess the effectiveness of rhizobium inoculant singly or in combination with the micronutrients(i.e.,Zn,B,and Mo)on growth,yield,nutrient uptake,and quality of garden *** were:T_(1)=Control,T_(2)=Rhizobium inoculation at 50 g/kg seed,T_(3)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)Mo1,T_(4)=T_(2)+B_(2)Mo1,T_(5)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2),T_(6)=T_(2)+Zn_(3)B_(2)Mo1 and T_(7)=Zn_(3)B_(2)*** treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design and repeated all treatments in three *** application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)with inoculation of Rhizobium at 50 g kg^(−1)seed(T_(6))facilitated to increase of 44.8%in the green pod and 29.7%seed yield over *** same treatment contributed to attaining the maximum nodulation(25.3 plant^(−1)),Vitamin C(43.5 mg 100 g^(−1)),protein content(22.2%),and nutrient uptake as well as accumulation in garden *** all treatment combinations,treatment T_(6)was found superior to others based on microbial activities,soil fertility,and *** results of the study found that the application of 3 kg Zn,2 kg B,and 1 kg Mo ha^(−1)in combination with Rhizobium inoculation(50 g kg^(−1)seed)can improve the yield and quality of garden *** results of the study have the potential for the areas,where there is no use of Rhizobium inoculant or Zn,B,and Mo fertilizer for cultivation of garden pea.

In our editorial,we want to comment on the article by Stefanolo et al titled“Effect of Aspergillus niger prolyl endopeptidase in patients with celiac disease on a long-term gluten-free diet”.Celiac disease is an immune-mediated disorder triggered by dietary gluten in genetically predisposed *** avoiding gluten can permit patients to live symptom-free,ongoing voluntary or involuntary exposure to gluten is common and associated with persistent villous atrophy in small bowel *** villous atrophy predisposes patients to life threatening complications,such as osteoporotic fractures or malignancies,therapeutic adjuncts to gluten-free diet become important to improve patients’quality of life and,if these adjuncts can be shown to improve villous atrophy,avoid *** administration of enzyme preparations,such as endopeptidases that digest gluten and mitigate its antigenicity to trigger inflam-mation,is one clinical strategy under *** article is about the utility of one endopeptidase isolated from Aspergillus *** critique findings of this clinical trial and also summarize endopeptidase-based as well as other strategies and how they can complement gluten-free diet in the management of celiac disease.

Competitive interactions between invasive fall armyworm and Asian corn borer at intraspecific and interspecific level on the same feeding guild

Interspecific competition is an important factor in the population dynamics and geographical distribution of insect *** armyworm(FAW),Spodoptera frugiperda,an invasive species,and the Asian corn borer(ACB),Ostrinia furnacalis,a native pest species are major pests on maize in China,posing a threat to maize yield and grain quality.A series of laboratory,greenhouse,and field experiments were conducted to elucidate the competitive interactions between FAW and *** the laboratory experiments,FAW exhibited aggressive behaviors more frequently when compared with ACB,while the latter species exhibited defense behaviors more *** intraspecific competition was recorded in the FAW conspecific rather than in ACB,particularly in the 6th larval *** had a higher interspecific competitive advantage through intraguild predation over ACB,resulting in partial or complete displacement ACB when initially the ratio of the 2 species was 1:*** interspecific competition also had significantly influenced on the population parameters,defensive enzymes,and nutrient of these 2 *** interaction proved that the response of superoxide,catalase,and soluble protein in FAW were significantly increased,whereas the total sugar content in both species was substantially *** rate,and the plant damage that co-infested by both species varied significantly among the sequential combinations under greenhouse and field *** consistently exhibited stronger intraspecific aggression than ACB under laboratory and field conditions when co-existing on the same feeding *** findings contribute to efforts toward the improvement of integrated pest management programs for FAW,in decision making for invasive and native pests’management strategies to reduce the high risks of FAW and ACB outbreaks.

[Objectives]To determine the content of organic pollutants by CALUX bioassay.[Methods]According to JJF 1059.1-2012 Technical Specification for Evaluation and Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement,the determination results of organic pollutants were analyzed,various sources of uncertainty that may be introduced in the detection process were analyzed,and the mathematical model of uncertainty was *** A and B evaluation methods were used to calculate the components of uncertainty and extended uncertainty.[Results]In the range of 95%confidence interval,the determination result of organic pollutants was 6.59 pg/g fat,and the extended uncertainty was 0.0764 pg/g fat,so the determination results of organic pollutants could be expressed as(6.59±0.0764)pg/g fat(k=2).[Conclusions]This study can provide a basis for more accurate determination of organic pollutants.

[Objectives]To explore the inhibitory effect of lactic acid bacteria(LAB)on the growth of Salmonella.[Methods]The inhibitory effect of lactic acid bacteria on Salmonella was investigated by Oxford cup agar diffusion test from the aspects of lactic acid bacteria body,metabolites,pH,thermal stability and acid resistance.[Results]The growth of Salmonella was disturbed by the inhibition of lactic acid *** mechanism of inhibitory effect may be:simple low pH and lactic acid bacteria have no inhibitory effect on Salmonella;however,there are active substances in the metabolites of lactic acid bacteria,which have high thermal stability and a wide range of acid resistance,and are effective substances for inhibiting the growth of Salmonella.[Conclusions]This study is helpful for screening more natural preservative substances,reducing the contamination rate of Salmonella to food,and is expected to provide a theoretical basis for the preservation and preservation of food.

Fluorescence-based PCR Detection of Goat Milk Powder Mixed with Cow Milk

[Objectives]To amplify and identify the specific gene fragments of cattle and sheep by real-time fluorescence-based PCR,and quickly and accurately identify the adulteration problem of goat milk powder according to the differences of mitochondrial genes among different species.[Methods]The specificity,limit of detection and repeatability test were carried out by isolating somatic cells,extracting template DNA and determining the reaction conditions of real-time fluorescence-based PCR.[Results]The real-time fluorescence-based PCR method could be used to identify the bovine and ovine-derived materials of milk powder with high specificity,high sensitivity and good repeatability,and the limit of detection of milk components in goat milk powder could reach 0.01%.[Conclusions]The real-time fluorescence-based PCR method can be used to quickly and accurately detect the milk components in goat milk powder,and provide some technical support for the adulteration detection of dairy industry.
