Wuzi Yanzong prescription(五子衍宗丸)from Traditional Chinese Medicine for male infertility:a narrative review

Wuzi Yanzong prescription(WYP),as a classical prescription for male infertility with kidney essence deficiency,is composed of Gouqizi(Fructus Lycii),Tusizi(Semen Cuscutae),Wuweizi(Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis),Fupenzi(Fructus Rubi Chingii)and Cheqianzi(Semen Plantaginis).It has been used for hundreds of years in the treatment of male infertility,known as“the first prescription of ancient and modern seeds”,with convincing clinical *** present,more than 100 chemical compounds have been isolated from WYP,including polysaccharide,fatty acids,flavonoids,phenylpropanoids,organic acids,alkaloids,terpenoids,*** and clinical studies show that WYP has an obvious effect on reproductive system diseases,especially male infertility,which has a very wide application *** also has effects on the nervous system,inhibiting liver injury,lowering blood sugar and blood lipid,anti-aging,improving immunity,resisting hypoxia and fatigue *** study reviewed the chemical constituents,quality control,pharmacology,and clinical application of *** is no doubt about the clinical value of WYP,but its quality control system is not perfect,pharmacological mechanism is not fully explained,and clinical applications need to be ***,the follow-up researches should proceed from the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)and clinical applications,further explain the theoretical connotation,reveal the mechanism of action,and provide the basis for the secondary development of classic famous *** addition,WYP is mostly used in combination with western medicines besides being used *** it can improve the efficacy and reduce side effects will also be a meaningful research direction in the future.

[Objectives]The paper was to establish the quality standard of Yi herb medicine Millettia dielsiana.[Methods]Yi herb medicine *** was qualitatively identified by microscopic identification and thin layer *** content of total isoflavones was determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometry,and the contents of moisture,total ash,acid-insoluble ash and extract were checked according to the method introduced in Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020 edition).[Results]The microscopic identification features,including stone cells,fiber bundles,calcium oxalate square crystals,starch granules,pigment blocks,ducts,etc.,were distinct.A TLC method for identification of *** was *** contents of water,total ash,acid-insoluble ash and extract should be no more than 13%,no more than 7%,no more than 0.5%and no less than 6%in 10 batches of samples,*** total isoflavones of *** based on genistein(C_(15)H_(10)O_(5)) should be no less than 0.25%.The linear relationship of genistein was good in the range of 0.002-0.007 mg/mL(R^(2)=0.9996);the average recovery was 97.01%and the RSD was 2.62%.[Conclusions]The method is simple,accurate and well-reproducible,and can be used for the quality control of Yi herb medicine ***.

[Objectives]To establish the quality standard for Euonymi Grandiflorus Caulis and Folium.[Methods]Qualitative identification was performed by methods of origin identification,microscopic identification and thin layer chromatography(TLC);the moisture,total ash,acid-insoluble ash,and extract were detected using the method in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020 Edition),and the contents of quercetin and kaempferol were determined by High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC).[Results]The leaves of Euonymi Grandiflorus were subleathery,narrow and long elliptic or narrow obovate with cyme,and capsules were often with narrow wing *** of microscopic identification were *** oxalate cluster crystals,cubic crystals,inlaid parenchyma cells,starch granules,stomata,and fiber bundles could be observed.A TLC method for identification of Euonymi Grandiflorus Caulis and Folium was *** contents of water,total ash,acid-insoluble ash were not higher than 13%,9%,12%,respectively;the extract were no less were not higher than 13%,9%,12%and 17%in ten batches of samples,respectively;the sum of quercetin and kaempferol were no less than 0.20%.[Conclusions]The quality standard of Euonymi Grandiflorus Caulis and Folium were established through the *** method is accurate,specific,and reproducible and can be used for the quality control of Euonymi Grandiflorus Caulis and Folium.

Real-time Shear Wave Elastography Assessment of Muscle Elasticity in Patients with Renal Failure

Objective:To explore the value of real-time elastic shear wave in evaluating muscle elasticity in patients with renal ***:50 patients with chronic renal failure from January 2019 to December 2022 were randomly selected as the experimental group,and 50 healthy patients aged 21-61 during the same period were selected as the control group,and the basic information of the patients,including age,gender,body mass index,etc.,were ***,the Young's modulus of the two groups of patients were observed and ***:The Young's modulus values of left and right gastrocnemius muscles in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group(Pcontrol group(P>0.05).Conclusion:Real-time shear wave elastography provides a non-invasive,real-time and effective tool for the assessment of muscle elasticity in patients with renal *** further research and optimization,real-time shear wave elastography will play a greater role in the prevention and treatment of patients with renal failure,improving the quality of life and prognosis of patients.

Impact of Sarcopenia on Prognosis in Frail Elderly Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease

Effect of breathing and Daoyin exercises on the quality of life in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Objective： To observe the effect of breathing and Daoyin exercises on the quality of life in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease（COPD） due to deficiency of the lung and kidney（grade II-III）.Methods： A total of 60 eligible cases were randomly allocated into a treatment group（n=30） and a control group（n=30） by random number table. Cases in the control group received routine Western medical treatment, whereas cases in the treatment group conducted breathing and Daoyin exercises in addition to routine Western medical treatment. Patients in both groups were treated for a total of 3 months. Then the observation was made on changes in pulmonary ventilation function, major clinical symptoms, modified Medical Research Council scale（m MRC）, distance in 6-minute walk test（6-MWT）, COPD assessment test（CAT） and efficacy satisfaction questionnaire for COPD（ESQ-COPD） before and after treatment. Results： After treatment, the total effective rate was 80.0% in the treatment group, versus 66.7% in the control group, showing a statistical difference（P〈0.05）. Patients in the treatment group obtained more significant improvement in coughing, sputum production, dyspnea and shortness of breath than those in the control group（P〈0.05）. Patients in the treatment group obtained more significant elevation in the forced expiratory volume in 1 second percentage of predicted value（FEV1%） and peak expiratory flow rate（PEF%） than those in the control group（P〈0.05）. Patients in the treatment group obtained lower m MRC score than those in the control group（P〈0.05）. Patients in the treatment group obtained longer 6-MWT distance than those in the control group（P〈0.05）. Patients in the treatment group obtained lower CAT score（P〈0.01） and higher ESQ-COPD score（P〈0.05） than those in the control group. Conclusion： Breathing and Daoyin exercises combined with routine Western medical treatment are effective for stable COPD（grade II-III） due to deficiency of the lung and kidney and can i

Nowadays the system of public health is constructed in such a manner so that its main objective is the recovery of an already sick person, while prediction and prevention receive little attention. Meanwhile the development of these aspects of medicine can lead to the ability to control morbidity among the population, to identify chronic and genetic diseases in the early stages of development, and thus to prevent their further progression. This will reduce traditionally high costs of sick people treatment and the number of disabled population, and improve the quality and duration of life. The elaboration of new fields of science that are working on the study and interpretation of data obtained during laboratory and clinical research, creation of new methods for diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, provides an opportunity now to implement a new strategy, called PPPM, and gets promising results, which should lead to further development of an existing medicine.

Effect of long intermittent hemodialysis on improving dialysis adequacy of maintenance hemodialysis patients

Background With the increase in hemodialysis （HD） patients, the blood dialysis patient＇s quality of life （QoL） and long- term survival are still a challenge for clinicians. Recent studies have found that most of the HD patients have sleep disorders, which have a certain correlation with long-term survival and QoL. But there are few studies of Chinese in this field. This study aimed to investigate whether increasing the dialysis dose can improve sleep quality, so we treated HD patients on long intermittent hemodialysis （LIHD）. Methods Forty patients who were treated by conventional HD at the Beijing Friendship Hospital Blood Purification Center were offered the option of LIHD. The patients＇ laboratory data, medication use, and questionnaire answers were analyzed. Conventional HD was delivered thrice weekly with 4 hours per treatment, and LIHD was delivered thrice weekly with 8 hours per treatment. The study lasted 6 months. Questionnaires included sleep quality survey and QoL SF-36; the former includes the Athens Insomnia Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep quality Index （PSQI）, and Epworth Sleepiness Scale （ESS）. Results After conversion to LIHD the dialysis efficiency （K~/V） significantly increased than before （P 〈0.05） and clearance rate of urea nitrogen also increased from 67 to 78% （P 〈0.01）. After conversion, median values for Hb increased from 108.95 to 126.55 g/L （P 〈0.01）; albumin increased from 38.85 to 40,05 g/L （P 〈0.01）. Phosphorus decreased from 2.69 to 1.54 mmol/L （P 〈0.01）, but there was no alteration in blood calcium; phosphorus and calcium-phosphate product levels were under more control, but parathyroid hormone （iPTH） level did not change after conversion to LIHD. After conversion, blood pressure （BP） was better controlled than before and the mean number of antihypertensive drugs prescribed declined from 2.9 to 0.5 （P 〈0.01）. 陕西省城市土壤重金属空间分布特征与来源解析

收集整理陕西省下辖10个地级市的表层土壤9种重金属(As、Co、Cr、Cu、Mn、Ni、Pb、Zn、Cd)含量、3个主要国民经济指标(GDP、人均GDP、常住人口)、8种污染物排放量(工业固废、工业废水、COD、NH 3-N、工业废气、SO_(2)、NO_(x)、烟(粉)尘)和7个大气环境监测指标(空气质量指数AQI、PM 2.5、PM 10、SO_(2)、NO_(2)、CO、O_(3))数据。研究陕西省城市土壤重金属污染水平,利用ArcGIS软件研究各重金属元素的空间分布特征,并通过地统计学方法进行来源解析。结果表明:陕西省城市土壤重金属含量差异较大,As和Mn的最高含量出现在西安,Cr、Cu和Ni的最高含量出现在渭南,Co、Pb、Zn和Cd的最高含量分别出现在榆林、铜川、宝鸡和商洛。地累积污染指数I geo的均值排序为:Cd>Co>Pb>Cu>Zn=Ni>Cr>Mn>As。As与Mn、Zn之间存在正相关性,Cr与Cu、Ni的相关性较好,Co、Pb和Cd与其他元素相关性不明显。Cr、Cu和Ni主要来自工业源,As、Mn和Zn主要来自自然源和交通源,Co和Cd主要来自工业源和农业源,Pb主要来自工业源和交通源。
