The conversion of CO2 into H+ and is a relatively slow reaction. Hence, its kinetics may be rate determining in carbonate rock dissolution. Carbonic anhydrase (CA), which is widespread in nature, was used to catalyze the CO2 conversion process in dissolution experiments of limestone and dolomite. It was found that the rate of dissolution increases by a factor of about 10 after the addition of CA at a high CO2 partial pressure (Pco2) for limestone and about 3 at low Pco2 for dolomite. This shows that reappraisal is necessary for the importance of chemical weathering (including carbonate rock dissolution and silicate weathering) in the atmospheric CO2 sink and the mysterious missing sink in carbon cycling. It is doubtless that previous studies of weathering underestimated weathering rates due to the ignorance of CA as an activator in weathering, thus the contribution of weathering to the atmospheric CO2 sink is also underestimated. This finding also shows the need to examine the situ distribution and activity of CA in different waters and to investigate the role of CA in weathering.

A New Critical Nitrogen Dilution Curve for Rice Nitrogen Status Diagnosis in Northeast China

In-season diagnosis of crop nitrogen(N) status is crucial for precision N management. Critical N(N_c) dilution curve and N nutrition index(NNI) have been proposed as effective methods to diagnose N status of different crops. The N_c dilution curves have been developed for indica rice in the tropical and temperate zones and japonica rice in the subtropical-temperate zone, but they have not been evaluated for short-season japonica rice in Northeast China. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the previously developed N_c dilution curves for rice in Northeast China and to develop a more suitable N_c dilution curve in this region. A total of17 N rate experiments were conducted in Sanjiang Plain, Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China from 2008 to 2013. The results indicated that none of the two previously developed N_c dilution curves was suitable to diagnose N status of the short-season japonica rice in Northeast China. A new N_c dilution curve was developed and can be described by the equation N_c = 27.7 W^(-0.34) if W ≥ 1 Mg dry matter(DM) ha^(-1) or N_c = 27.7 g kg^(-1) DM if W < 1 Mg DM ha^(-1), where W is the aboveground biomass. This new curve was lower than the previous curves. It was validated using a separate dataset, and it could discriminate non-N-limiting and N-limiting nutritional conditions. Additional studies are needed to further evaluate it for diagnosing N status of different rice cultivars in Northeast China and develop efficient non-destructive methods to estimate NNI for practical applications.

The prediction of the Baidu index for tourism demand has been increasingly focused on by ***,few studies have evaluated the predictive power of the Baidu index for hotel guest arrivals in fine granularity at the micro *** Guilin as a case study,we use the OLS regression method to quantitatively investigate the forecasting power of the Baidu index for daily hotel guest arrivals and to comprehensively evaluate the performance of the forecasting model and to optimize the forecasting model by deeply mining the hidden characteristics of tourism flow in a special case *** contributions of this papermainly have threefold:first,to the best of our knowledge,based on the actual full-example of daily hotel guest check-in data in fine granularity,we evaluated the predictive power of the Baidu index by comparison of 5 forecasting models for the first ***,we proposed two metrics for forecasting:the trend forecasting index and the forecasting stability ***,we introduce a kind of punishment strategy to optimize forecasting models based on the potential pattern of research objects.

To explore the effects of Yizhi Capsule （益智胶囊, YZC） on learning and memory disorder and β-amyloid peptide induced neurotoxicity in rats. Methods： Various doses of YZC were administered to Sprague-Dawley （SD） rats for 8 consecutive days, twice a day. On the 8th day of the experiment, scopolamine hydrobromide was intraperitoneally injected to every rat and Morris water maze test and shuttle dark avoidance test were carried out respectively to explore the changes of learning and memory capacities in the rats. Resides, after the cerebral cortical neurons of newborn SD rats aged within 3 days were cultured in vitro for 7 days, drug serum containing YZC was added to the cultured neurons before or after β amyloid peptide25-35 （Aβ25-35） intoxication to observe the protective effect of YZC on neurotoxicity by MTT assay and to determine the LDH content in the supernatant. Results： Compared with those untreated with YZC, the rats having received YZC treatment got superiority in shorter time of platform seeking in Morris water maze test, as well as elongated latent period and less times of error in shuttle dark avoidance test. On the cultured neurons, YZC drug serum could effectively increase the survival rate of Aβ25-35 intoxicated neurons and reduce the LDH contents in cultured supernatant. Conclusion： YZC has an action of improving learning and memory disorder, and good protective effect on Aβ25-35 induced neurotoxicity in SD rats. KEY WORDS

Background:Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has killed over 2.5 million people worldwide,but effective care and therapy have yet to be *** conducted this analysis to better understand tocilizumab treatment for COVID-19 *** text:We searched major databases for manuscripts reporting the effects of tocilizumab on COVID-19 patients.A total of 25 publications were analyzed with Revman 5.3 and R for the *** better clinical outcomes were found in the tocilizumab treatment group when compared to the standard care group[odds ratio(OR)=0.70,95%confidential interval(CI):0.54-0.90,0.007].Tocilizumab treatment showed a stronger correlation with good prognosis among COVID-19 patients that needed mechanical ventilation(OR=0.59,95%CI:0.37-0.93,P=0.02).

[Objectives]This study was conducted to select media suitable for proliferation,differentiation and rooting of Cymbidium hybridum"Huangjinjia".[Methods]The lateral buds and protocorms of the new variety ***"Huangjinjia"were used as materials to explore the effects of different concentrations of 6-BA and NAA on protocorm proliferation and rooting.[Results]The optimal medium for protocorm propagation was 1/2 MS+6-BA 1.0 mg/L+NAA0.5 mg/L+potato 50 g/L+sucrose 20 g/L,in which the protocorms multiplied easily and grew *** optimal medium for inducing adventitious buds was1/2 MS+6-BA 1.5 mg/L+NAA 0.3 mg/L+sucrose 30 g/L+banana 25 g/L+apple 25 g/L+activated carbon 1.0 g/L,in which the induction rate of adventitious buds reached 335%.The optimal medium for rooting was 1/2 MS+NAA 0.5 mg/L+sucrose 25 g/L+banana 75 g/L+apple 25 g/L+activated carbon1.0 g/L,in which the average root length was 3.0 cm,the average number of roots was 2.6,and plantlets had green leaves,thick roots and suitable plant height.[Conclusions]This study provides a theoretical basis and reference for the establishment of a rapid propagation system using lateral buds.

Coenzyme Q10(CoQ10)is an important component of the respiratory chain in humans and some *** a high-value-added nutraceutical antioxidant,CoQ10 has excellent capacity to prevent cardiovascular *** content of CoQ10 in the industrial Rhodobacter sphaeroides HY01 is hundreds of folds higher than normal physiological *** this study,we found that overexpression or optimization of the synthetic pathway failed CoQ10 overproduction in the HY01 ***,under phosphate-limited conditions(decreased phosphate or in the absence of inorganic phosphate addition),CoQ10 production increased significantly by 12%to220 mg/L,biomass decreased by 12%,and the CoQ10 productivity of unit cells increased by 27%.In subsequent fed-batch fermentation,CoQ10 production reached 272 mg/L in the shake-flask fermentation and 1.95 g/L in a 100-L bioreactor under phosphate ***,to understand the mechanism associated with CoQ10 overproduction under phosphate-limited conditions,the comparatve transcriptome analysis was *** results indicated that phosphate limitation combined with glucose fed-batch fermentation represented an effective strategy for CoQ10 production in the *** limitation induced a pleiotropic effect on cell metabolism,and that improved CoQ10 biosynthesis efficiency was possibly related to the disturbance of energy metabolism and redox potential.
