Simulation and evaluation study of atmospheric aerosol nonsphericity as a function of particle size

Aerosol nonsphericity causes great uncertainty in radiative forcing assessments and climate *** considerable studies have attempted to quantify this uncertainty,the relationship between aerosol nonsphericity and particle size is usually not considered,thus reducing the accuracy of the *** this study,a coupled inversion algorithm combining an improved stochastic particle swarm optimization algorithm and angular light scattering is used for the nonparametric estimation of aerosol nonsphericity variation with particle size,and the optimal sample selection method is employed to screen the *** on the verification of inversion accuracy,the variation of aerosol aspect ratio with particle size based on the ellipsoidal model in global regions has been obtained from Aerosol Robotic Network(AERONET)data,and the effect of nonsphericity on radiative forcing and dry deposition has been *** results show that the aspect ratio increases with particle size in all regions,with the maximum ranging from 1.4 to 1.8 in the desert,reflecting the differences in aerosol composition at different particle *** radiation calculations,considering aerosol nonsphericity makes the aerosol cooling effect weaker and surface radiative fluxes increase,but hardly changes the aerosol absorption,with maximum differences of 9.22%and 22.12%at the bottom and top of the atmosphere,***,the differences in radiative forcing between aspect ratios as a function of particle size and not varying with particle size are not significant,averaging less than 2%.Besides,the aspect ratio not varying with particle size underestimates the deposition velocity of small particles and overestimates that of large particles compared to that as a function of particle size,with maximum differences of 7%and 4%,respectively.

Combining TDLAS and multi-fusion algorithms for methane gas concentration detection

High-precision methane gas detection is of great importance in industrial safety, energy production and environmental protection, etc. However, in the existing measurement techniques, the methane gas concentration information is susceptible to noise, which leads to its useful signal being drowned by noise. A fusion algorithm of variational modal decomposition(VMD) and improved wavelet threshold filtering is proposed, which is used in combination with tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy(TDLAS) to implement a non-contact, high-resolution methane gas concentration detection. The fusion algorithm can perform noise reduction and further segmentation of the methane gas detection signal. And the simulation and experiment verify the effectiveness of the fusion algorithm, and the experimental results show that for the detection of air containing 10 ppm, 30 ppm, 60 ppm, 80 ppm, and 99 ppm methane, the errors are 12.75%, 8.18%, 3.37%, 2.46%, and 1.78%, respectively.

Shear wave splitting(SWS)is regarded as the most effective geophysical method to delineate mantle flow fields by detecting seismic azimuthal anisotropy in the earth's upper mantle,especially in tectonically active regions such as subduction *** Aleutian-Alaska subduction zone has a convergence rate of approximately 50 mm/yr,with a trench length reaching nearly 2800 *** a long subduction zone has led to intensive continental deformation and numerous strong earthquakes in southern and central Alaska,while northern Alaska is relatively *** sharp contrast makes Alaska a favorable locale to investigate the impact of subduction on mantle ***,the uniqueness of this subduction zone,including the unusual subducting type,varying slab geometry,and atypical magmatic activity and composition,has intrigued the curiosity of many *** identify different sources of seismic anisotropy beneath the Alaska region and probe the influence of a geometrically varying subducting slab on mantle dynamics,extensive SWS analyses have been conducted in the past ***,the insufficient station and azimuthal coverage,especially in early studies,not only led to some conflicting results but also strongly limited the in-depth investigation of layered anisotropy and the estimation of anisotropy *** the completion of the Transportable Array project in Alaska,recent studies have revealed more detailed mantle structures and characteristics based on the dense station coverage and newly collected massive seismic *** this study,we review significant regional-and continental-scale SWS studies in the Alaska region and conclude the mantle flow fields therein,to understand how a geometrically varying subducting slab alters the regional mantle *** summarized mantle flow mechanisms are believed to be conducive to the understanding of seismic anisotropy patterns in other subduction zones with a complicated tectonic setting.

Preparation of PVA/GO/h-BN Janus Film with High Thermal Conductivity and Excellent Flexibility via a Density Deposition Self-assembly Method

Janus films with asymmetric physical/chemical properties have attracted con siderable attention due to their promising applications in personal thermal management,electronic skin s,sensors,actuators,***,traditional methods for fabricating Janus films conventionally need the assistance of an interface or auxiliary equipment,which are usually complex and ***,flexible poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)/graphene oxide(GO)/h-BN(recorded as PVA/GO/h-BN)Janus films with thermally,optically,and electrically anisotropic properties are fabricated by a simple density deposition self-assem bly method,which just utilizes the density difference between GO and h-BN during water *** results show that the two sides of the acquired Janus films have obvious asymmetric *** the original state of the PVA/GO/h-BN Janus films,the thermal conductivity of the GO side(10.06 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1))is generally lower than that of the h-BN side(10.48W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)).But after GO is reduced,the thermal conductivity of the rGO side reaches 12.17 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1),surpassing that of the h-BN *** addition,the relative reflectance of the h-BN side of Janus film is also significantly higher than that of the rGO side,and the su rface resistance difference between the two sides is about 4 orders of *** prepared PVA/GO/h-BN Janus films show great application potential in human thermal management,light conversion switches,and electronic *** study provides a simple and versatile strategy for fabricating Janus films with multifunctional(such as thermal,optical,and electrical)anisotropies.

This paper focuses on the quadratic nonfragile filtering problem for linear non-Gaussian systems under multiplicative noises,multiple missing measurements as well as the dynamic event-triggered transmission *** multiple missing measurements are characterized through random variables that obey some given probability distributions,and thresholds of the dynamic event-triggered scheme can be adjusted dynamically via an auxiliary *** attention is concentrated on designing a dynamic event-triggered quadratic nonfragile filter in the well-known minimum-variance *** this end,the original system is first augmented by stacking its state/measurement vectors together with second-order Kronecker powers,thus the original design issue is reformulated as that of the augmented ***,we analyze statistical properties of augmented noises as well as high-order moments of certain random *** the aid of two well-defined matrix difference equations,we not only obtain upper bounds on filtering error covariances,but also minimize those bounds via carefully designing gain ***,an example is presented to explain the effectiveness of this newly established quadratic filtering algorithm.

The turbidite channel of South China Sea has been highly *** by the complex fault and the rapid phase change of lithofacies,predicting the channel through conventional seismic attributes is not accurate *** response to this disadvantage,this study used a method combining grey relational analysis(GRA)and support vectormachine(SVM)and established a set of prediction technical procedures suitable for reservoirs with complex geological *** the case study of the Huangliu Formation in Qiongdongnan Basin,South China Sea,this study first dimensionalized the conventional seismic attributes of Gas Layer Group I and then used the GRA method to obtain the main relational factors.A higher relational degree indicates a higher probability of responding to the attributes of the turbidite *** study then accumulated the optimized attributes with the highest relational factors to obtain a first-order accumulated sequence,which was used as the input training sample of the SVM model,thus successfully constructing the SVM turbidite channel *** results prove that the GRA-SVMmethod has a high drilling coincidence *** the core and logging data and taking full use of the advantages of seismic inversion in predicting the sand boundary of water channels,this study divides the sedimentary microfacies of the Huangliu Formation in the Lingshui 17-2 Gas *** comprehensive study has shown that the GRA-SVM method has high accuracy for predicting turbidite channels and can be used as a superior turbidite channel prediction method under complex geological conditions.

Single crystallization is an important strategy to resolve intergranular cracks and unnecessary side reactions with electrolytes in layered transition metal oxide cathodes LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)(NMC811).Due to the limitations of high-temperature sintering and multi-step calcination,single crystal NMC811 generally shows irregular particles with a size of 2-3μ***,the prolonged Li-ion diffusion pathway and the stress generated by the uneven de-/intercalation sluggish Li-ion diffusion kinetics,what is more,cause structural damage such as intragranular cracks.A slow Li extraction rate or particle size reduction will ameliorate the structural damage and improve the cycling *** the most promising cathodes for next-generation power batteries,NMC811 required fast charge performance and cycle *** size reduction appears to be the displacement *** is an effective strategy to mitigate intragranular cracks of single crystal ***,the serious aggregation and increased specific surface area become new *** this article,we synthesized monodisperse nanoscale single crystal NMC811 by molten salt method and modified the surface by LiNbO3 *** electrochemical performance shows that nanoscale single crystal NMC811 has faster kinetic and higher capacity retention,so the strategy of combining nanonization and surface coating is an alternative way to prepare high specific capacity and cycle stable single crystal NMC811.

This paper investigates the anomaly-resistant decentralized state estimation(SE) problem for a class of wide-area power systems which are divided into several non-overlapping areas connected through transmission lines. Two classes of measurements(i.e., local measurements and edge measurements) are obtained, respectively, from the individual area and the transmission lines. A decentralized state estimator, whose performance is resistant against measurement with anomalies, is designed based on the minimum error entropy with fiducial points(MEEF) criterion. Specifically, 1) An augmented model, which incorporates the local prediction and local measurement, is developed by resorting to the unscented transformation approach and the statistical linearization approach;2) Using the augmented model, an MEEF-based cost function is designed that reflects the local prediction errors of the state and the measurement;and 3) The local estimate is first obtained by minimizing the MEEF-based cost function through a fixed-point iteration and then updated by using the edge measuring information. Finally, simulation experiments with three scenarios are carried out on the IEEE 14-bus system to illustrate the validity of the proposed anomaly-resistant decentralized SE scheme.

Benefiting from the great advances of the femtosecond laser two-photon polymerization(TPP)technology,customized microcantilever probes can be accurately 3-dimensional(3D)manufactured at the nanoscale size and thus have exhibited considerable potentials in the fields of microforce,micro-vibration,and microforce *** this work,a controllable microstructured cantilever probe on an optical fiber tip for microforce detection is demonstrated both theoretically and *** static performances of the probe are firstly investigated based on the finite element method(FEM),which provides the basis for the structural *** proposed cantilever probe is then 3D printed by means of the TPP *** experimental results show that the elastic constant k of the proposed cantilever probe can be actively tuned from 2.46N/m to 62.35N/*** force sensitivity is 2.5nm/μN,the Q-factor is 368.93,and the detection limit is ***,the mechanical properties of the cantilever probe can be flexibly adjusted by the geometric configuration of the ***,it has an enormous potential for matching the mechanical properties of biological samples in the direct contact mode.

The influence of surface roughness and deformation on dechromization of a Cu-Cr alloy

In order to realize the dechromization of a Cu-Cr alloy in HCl solution, the influence of surface roughness and deformation on dechromization of the Cu-Cr alloy was studied by means of metallographic observation, TEM, SEM/EDX, and CH1660A electrochemical instrument. The results showed that the bigger the sample＇s deformation and surface roughness, the shorter the incubation time of dechromization of the Cu-Cr alloy, and the trend of dechromization increases. Simultaneously, the deformation can increase the dechromization rate, invite stress corrosion, and decrease the compactibifity of the microstructure of the dechromization layer. And yet the surface roughness does not obviously affect the dechromization rate and the compactibility of the dechromization layer.
