Gastroprotective Effects of Ascaridole on Gastric Ulcer in Rats

Objective To evaluate the gastroprotective activity of ascaridole. Methods The gastroprotective effect of ascaridole was evaluated on ulcer healing in rats with acetic acid-induced chronic gastric ulcer, pylorus ligation- and Aspirin-induced gastric ulcer. Ascaridole was ig administered with the dosages of 10 and 20 mg/kg once daily for 7 d. Results Ascaridole showed the significant anti-ulcer effects. In acetic acid-induced gastric ulcer rats, the ulcer areas after 10 and 20 mg/kg of ascaridole treatment were (65.1 ± 20.0) and (50.6 ± 11.0) mm2, respectively, which were significant lower (P co.trol group [(116.7 ± 35.8) mm2]. For pylorus ligation model, ascaridole showed a gastric ulcer healing effect in a dose-dependent manner. Ascaridole at the dose of 20 mg/kg showed 50% ulcer protection and had a significant (P co.pared to the co.trol group, the two dosages of ascaridole showed the significant reduction (P co.clusion This study provides evidence that ascaridole shows potential efficacy on the healing of gastric ulcers induced by acetic acid, Aspirin, and pylorus ligation.

Polysaccharides of Aspergillus cristatus attenuate obesity by regulating gut microbiota and gut microbiota-related metabolites

Nitrous oxide(N_(2)O)is a potent greenhouse gas that can be emitted during the biological treatment of *** this study,a co.parison of the long-term performance characteristics and N_(2)O production of sequencing batch reactors(SBR)and co.tinuous stirred tank reactors(CSTR)during nitrite-based denitrification was *** was found that both reactors had NO_(2)^(-)-N removal efficiencies over 99.9%,but the N_(2)O-N emissions from the SBR reached~2.3%of the removal nitrite-N load,while in the CSTR it never exceeded 0.1%.High frequency sampling during one operation cycle of the SBR demonstrated that the N_(2)O accumulation ratio was~0.1%during the feast period,increased to~1.9%in the first five hours of the famine period,and then gradually reached~2.3%at the end of *** experiments showed that limiting extracellular electron donor is required for N_(2)O accumulation in cells from the SBR-famine period and that cells from the CSTR do not accumulate N_(2)O when either nitrite or carbon is *** notable difference in the two reactor co.munities was the high level of accumulation of intracellular granules,most likely polyhydroxybutyrate(PHB),in cells during the feast period in the *** assembly and binning found that one genome(PRO1),which is a Thauera,acco.nted for over half the metagenomic reads in both *** shifts in gene regulation nor co.munity co.position explained the observed differences in reactor performance suggesting some post-transcriptional regulation obligatorily linked to antecedent co.ditions underly increased N_(2)O production in the SBR.

Anaerobic, aerobic, and facultative bacteria are all present in co.rosive environments. However, as previous studies to address co.rosion in the marine environment have largely focused on anaerobic bacteria, limited attention has been paid to the co.position and function of aerobic and facultative bacteria in this process. For analysis in this study, ten samples were co.lected from rust layers on steel plates that had been immersed in seawater for diff erent periods (i.e., six months and eight years) at Sanya and Xiamen, China. The cultivable aerobic bacterial co.munity structure as well as the number of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) were analyzed in both cases, while the proportion of facultative SRB among the isolated aerobic bacteria in each sample was also evaluated using a novel approach. Bacterial abundance results show that the proportions are related to sea location and immersion time;abundances of culturable aerobic bacteria (CAB) and SRB from Sanya were greater in most co.rosion samples than those from Xiamen, and abundances of both bacterial groups were greater in samples immersed for six months than for eight years. A total of 213 isolates were obtained from all samples in terms of CAB co.munity co.position, and a phylogenetic analysis revealed that the taxa co.prised four phyla and 31 genera. Bacterial species co.position is related to marine location;the results show that Firmicutes and Proteobacteria were the dominant phyla, acco.nting for 98.13% of the total, while Bacillus and Vibrio were the dominant genera, acco.nting for 53.06% of the total. An additional sixfacultative SRB strains were also screened from the isolates obtained and were found to enco.pass the genus Vibrio (four strains), Staphyloco.cus (one strain), and Photobacterium (one strain). It is noteworthy that mentions of Photobacterium species have so far been absent from the literature, both in terms of its membership of the SRB group and its relationship to co.rosion.

In this study, lambda-cyhalothrin(LC) loaded polyurea microcapsules(MCs) with different particle sizes were *** of the MCs showed varying degrees of physical co.lapse, which was more obvious among those with smaller particle sizes. MCs with particle sizes of 1.38 μm(MC-S), 5.13 μm(MC-M) and 10.05 μm(MC-L) had shell thicknesses of 39.6,50.3 and 150.1 nm, respectively. MCs with smaller particles tended to have significantly faster release profiles, and the MC-S group had much higher bioactivity against Agrotis ipsilon and better foliar affinity on the peanut leaves(indicated by rainfastness) than MC-M and MC-L. All of the MCs exhibited light-enhanced release profiles and had much slower degradation co.pared with the emulsifiable co.centrate(EC) group, among which MC-L had the slowest *** generate MCs with both favorable quick efficacy and long-lasting efficacy, binary mixtures of MC-S, MC-M and MC-L were produced by mixing them in pairs at ratios of 2:1, 1:1 and 1:2. The mixture of MC-S:MC-L at 1:2 showed the best co.prehensive efficacy in the peanut foliar spray scenario among the nine tested co.binations, and its effective duration was three times longer than that of EC. Overall, the precise co.bination of MCs with different particle sizes can regulate the efficacy of pesticide co.trol and serve as a strategy for the better utilization of pesticides.
