Sensitivity of miRNA-181a,miRNA-23b and miRNA-16 in the Late-Onset Neonatal Sepsis:A Diagnostic Study

Objective To evaluate the expression and diagnostic value of levels of the microRNAs(miRNAs),miRNA-181a,miRNA-23b,and miRNA-16,in late-onset neonatal sepsis(LOS)and compare them with the diagnostic utility of C-reactive protein(CRP)*** This was a prospective diagnostic study conducted between January 2021 and March 2023 at a tertiary care center(Sri Ramachandra Hospital)in *** real-time polymerase chain reaction was performed to determine miRNA-181a,miRNA-23b,and miRNA-16 expression levels,and CRP was measured by *** diagnostic value of miRNA and CRP levels were analyzed using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)*** curves were utilized to determine optimal cutoff points,and Mann–Whitney tests were performed using SPSS to ascertain P values,with statistical significance defined as<*** This study included 100 samples,with 50 cases of culture-proven LOS(27 females,23 males)and 50 healthy controls(31 females,19 males).In LOS,miRNA-181a and miRNA-23b expression levels were significantly downregulated(P<0.001),with area under the curve(AUC)values of 0.83 and 0.92,respectively,whereas those of miRNA-16 were significantly upregulated(P<0.001;AUC=0.97).In comparison,CRP levels had an AUC value of 0.831(P<0.001).Further,miRNA-23b showed the highest sensitivity(98%)of markers tested,whereas miRNA-16 exhibited the highest specificity(96%).Conclusion MiRNA,especially miRNA-16,shows diagnostic potential for neonatal sepsis compared with traditional biomarkers like CRP and procalcitonin,suggesting its use as an early marker for ***,further cohort studies are needed before practical application.

The efficacy of stacked bar charts in supporting single-attribute and overall-attribute comparisons

Stacked bar charts are a visualization method for presenting multiple attributes of data,and many visualization tools support these *** assess the efficacy of stacked bar charts in supporting attributecomparison tasks,we conducted a user study to compare three types of stacked bar charts:classical,inverting,and *** chart type was used to visualize six attributes of data where half of the attributes have the characteristics of‘lower better’whereas the other half attributes are with‘higher better.’Thirty participants were asked to perform two types of comparison tasks:single-attribute and overall-attribute *** measured the completion time,error rate,and perceived difficulty of the comparison *** results of the study suggest that,for overall-attribute comparisons,the inverting stacked bar chart was the most effective with regards to the completion *** results also show that performing overall-attribute comparisons using the classical and diverging stacked bar charts required more time than performing single-attribute comparisons using these *** perceived the inverting and diverging stacked bar charts as easier-to-use than the classical stacked bar chart for overall-attribute ***,for single-attribute comparisons,all chart types delivered similar *** discuss how these findings can inform the better design of interactive stacked bar charts and visualization tools.

Evolution analysis of the states of the EZ model

Based on suitable choice of states, this paper studies the stability of the equilibrium state of the EZ model by regarding the evolution of the EZ model as a Markov chain and by showing that the Markov chain is ergodic. The Markov analysis is applied to the EZ model with small number of agents, the exact equilibrium state for N = 5 and numerical results for N = 18 are obtained.

Cloud computing technology provides flexible,on-demand,and completely controlled computing resources and services are highly *** this,with its distributed and dynamic nature and shortcomings in virtualization deployment,the cloud environment is exposed to a wide variety of cyber-attacks and security *** Intrusion Detection System(IDS)is a specialized security tool that network professionals use for the safety and security of the networks against attacks launched from various *** attacks are becoming more frequent and powerful,and their attack pathways are continually changing,which requiring the development of new detection *** the purpose of the study is to improve detection *** Selection(FS)is *** the same time,the IDS’s computational problem is limited by focusing on the most relevant elements,and its performance and accuracy *** this research work,the suggested Adaptive butterfly optimization algorithm(ABOA)framework is used to assess the effectiveness of a reduced feature subset during the feature selection phase,that was motivated by this motive *** classification is not compromised by using an ABOA *** design of Deep Neural Networks(DNN)has simplified the categorization of network traffic into normal and DDoS threat ***’s parameters can be finetuned to detect DDoS attacks better using specially built *** reconstruction error,no exploding or vanishing gradients,and reduced network are all benefits of the changes outlined in this *** it comes to performance criteria like accuracy,precision,recall,and F1-Score are the performance measures that show the suggested architecture outperforms the other existing *** the proposed ABOA+DNN is an excellent method for obtaining accurate predictions,with an improved accuracy rate of 99.05%compared to other existing approaches.

Cynodon dactylon extract ameliorates cognitive functions and cerebellar oxidative stress in whole body irradiated mice

Objective: To explore the effect of hydroalcoholic extract of Cynodon dactylon on the whole body radiation-induced oxidative status of the cerebellum and cognitive impairments in mice. Methods: Swiss albino mice were randomly divided into the control group, radiation control group, low dose and high dose Cynodon dactylon extract treated groups and pre-treated with Cynodon dactylon extract before irradiation. Cynodon dactylon extract was administered for 7 d daily in low dose(0.25 g/kg) and high dose(1 g/kg). On day 7, mice were irradiated with a sublethal dose of 5 Gy gamma rays. Motor coordination was assessed by elevated rotarod test and spatial memory was studied by water maze test. Subsequently, biochemical markers(glutathione, lipid peroxidation and nitric oxide levels) in the cerebellum were evaluated. Results: The gamma irradiated group showed significant impairment in motor coordination and spatial memory compared to normal mice. Mice treated by Cynodon dactylon extract prior to gamma radiation showed good improvement in both paradigms compared to the radiation control group. Moreover, glutathione level was increased, while lipid peroxidation and nitric oxide levels were significantly reduced in mice receiving low dose and high dose of Cynodon dactylon extract compared to the radiation control group. Conclusions: The present study suggests the neuroprotective role of Cynodon dactylon against radiation-induced cognitive impairment and oxidative stress on the cerebellum of mice.

Brain Hemorrhagic stroke is a serious malady that is caused by the drop in blood flow through the brain and causes the brain to *** segmentation of brain hemorrhage is crucial,so an enhanced segmentation is carried out in this research *** brain image of various patients has taken using an MRI scanner by the utilization of T1,T2,and FLAIR *** work aims to segment the Brain Hemorrhagic stroke using deep learning-based Multi-resolution UNet(multires UNet)through morphological *** is hard to precisely segment the brain lesions to extract the existing region of *** crucial step is accomplished by this proposed MMU-Net methodology by precise segmentation of stroke *** proposed method efficiently determines the hemorrhagic stroke with improved accuracy of 95%compared with the existing segmentation techniques such as U-net++,ResNet,Multires UNET and 3D-ResU-Net and also provides improved performance of 2D and 3D U-Net with an enhanced *** performancemeasure of the proposed methodology acquires an improved accuracy,precision ratio,sensitivity,and specificity rate of 0.07%,0.04%,0.04%,and 0.05%in comparison to U-net,ResNet,Multires UNET and 3D-ResU-Net techniques respectively.
